Where were ya man? We had a great time and missed ya!
Winner of the tourney was a new player to OFC (handle was kram kakes) that trekked down from temecula! He had a BEASTLY Yun… I was lucky to pull a single round off him in the tourney (I HAD to switch to blanka after getting used as a training dummy with Sim lol)
Rich (Pnoy760) took a well played and hard fought 2nd and third was Paul (discount Vega)
Good times with 6 of setups this time so no waiting like last time… good turnout but not totally packed like last time! (having the 3 setups in the garage really helped)
Thanks to all that brought setups… without your help we would all be watching and waiting on the main screen lol
Just wanted to stop through and say some things.
First and always big ups to the man Ed for graciously opening up his home for everyone to get together and have a good time, without his time and dedication none of this would be possible.
Congratulations to the new guy Mark(think that is your name sorry i am bad with names hahaha) for showin up and taking it all. Both you and your friend both have some really solid play and are a great addition the ofc scene.
Now Congratulations to the whole damn scene for all the improvement in the level of gameplay, I was amazingly shocked and impressed at how much everyone is improving and at the rate of improvement. It is just freaking amazing, I can see all the hard work you guys are putting in and it is simply amazing. From last night you can tell that OFC is working tremedously well, from 2 months ago to last night is just incredible My mind was seriously blown and i can not wait to see what you guys bring next time, I am going to try to get some practice time in myself so we can all have some good fights.
Also just wanted to say that we need to help support our main man Ed and make sure he is not doing it all himself. What i mean by that is to just bring what you can food/drink wise so it is not all on him. I dont drink so I will be bringing a 24 pack or 2 12s of soda to the meets and whatever else i can bring. Also just make sure we are cleaning up after ourselves and the people that stay to the very end just make sure we are always asking Ed if he needs help cleaning up.
These are already happening, but i just want to make sure that we continue to grow we make sure everyone respects the man and his house.
You guys make me proud to be apart of the OFC scene and make that 2 hours driving well worth it.
Tim, you are such a great guy and we are privileged to have you part of our little scene.
I agree 110% about the leveling up… I have watched these guys grow and its really amazing… the skill level has risen between every event and I notice it each time!
I really noticed it 2 OFC’s ago… it became apparent that my only playing during our meets wasnt gonna cut it because people I could beat we beating me… had to hit the lab and get my stuff back a bit… even last night I had to play as careful as I could against folks… no room for error anymore lol
I will continue to support OFC… this thing has grown to the point where we HAVE a scene and EVERYONE makes it worth it! I truly like every person that comes and keeps coming to it. We have never had any problems, no arguments, its just one big group of friends that enjoy some GREAT games.
I have seen many newcomers become regulars, and our OG’s are always welcoming to them… we really do have all ages, races, and types of ppl here just having a great time. THIS is what I have always envisioned how the fighting game community SHOULD be…Hell the rest of the US should take note and follow the example in all things…
If you would like to support OFC… well show up (thats kinda the biggest thing!) If you wanna do more then feel free to bring drink, food, a set up, or whatever!
If you want to donate (and NO i am NOT looking for a handout) then hit up the ofc site and donate. I posted there that any and all money will go directly to OFC… I dont want to turn this into a money thing so DONT EVER FEEL OBLIGATED… I do this out of love for the community and will do so as long as I am able.
Gentlemen (and the few ladies)… YOU made this scene… be proud of it, I know I am.
I tell everyone about the OFC… you are all good people and like you all have noticed… theres improvements all the way around to the play that is being displayed… I drive down for that very reason… Glad to see a community that has a solid base of players that work together at getting better… there is a reason why many of the OFC players are there till 4am haha… good times brothers… Doing my best to show up to the meets… even if it means I’m comin down at 10:30 just to have beers and scrub out playing hitbox controllers haha!
hey ed, thanks again for letting me and my friend come through
this past saturday. he had a lot of fun (i knew OFC would be a great
place for him to experience his first casual session). as for me i had a great
time as well, just wish i could of stayed for the tournament. maybe next time.
good games to everyone i played. i wanna get more footage and interview
more players from OFC. i want north county SD to be recognized in the SD
scene.
i hope all the J&J modding guys are there the next time i come through, i wanna
get an interview with them as well as showcase their work.
A late happy Thanksgiving to you guys. I’ve been able to get out some lately thankfully. ;p Yesterday, I got to play a board game and card games at Fanatical Gamers Society’s Open Game Day…I’m not afraid to admit I’m a fanatic when it comes to games…lol. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150392597304724.360802.205029899723&type=1 I’m in a few of the pictures with the glasses and green shirt…not the Green Lantern one to avoid confusion. At least this way you’ll know what I look like.
Looking forward to the get together next Saturday…hopefully I can get a ride this time. Next week’s schedule hasn’t been posted yet, so I’m not sure if I’m working Sat as of yet.
