ST for NEC… the reason why St should be the PS2 version is b/c it just released the true version of ST. The David Sirlin version it has a multitude of options to speed up the game. Plus DC is way outdated and finding good controllers will be very hard. Most games will be played on the PS2 and Xbox anyways so we might as well keep it on the same systems. I will no attend if it is no on anything but PS2.
I wouldn’t make that the whole reason whether you come or not. Unless you know that the difference will mean whether or not you take 1st place in ST. Just come out and have a good time and hell…get people together and do casuals for the PS2 version at least. I wouldn’t sweat it though…things might change towards tourney time. Not like ST has a big scene on the east coast any ways. All it takes is one or 2 people to really sway the decision. If people want it they’ll voice it. Otherwise just come out and have fun.
Besides…it’s already been found that the “David Sirlin” version of the game isn’t arcade perfect either. It’s closer than DC but still not perfect. It was un-perfect enough that Gian withdrew all of his Evo money matches. It’s clear that there is no best version and ST players should really be making a voice as to which version they prefer.
From what it seems…David Sirlin didn’t really have that much to do with the game any ways.
