Other than the obvious AE/Marvel what other games will be played?
Hello sirs, my friend and I would love to get together with you guys and play sometime. I would even be willing to host some casuals at my place if there is enough notice. I have a 42" plasma 720p Tv. I only play Xbox though and have only one working arcade stick [2 broken = ( ]. I haven’t noticed any offline lag on my Tv so I don’t think that will be an issue. My friend and I pretty much only play UMvC3, but I am willing to pick up others. I just recently started seriously playing fighting games about a year ago so I’m pretty new at the stuff, but love it all the same. Where and when do you guys meet up? I’ve been itching to get some fresh competition so please get up with me!
I’ll be there as per usual, although I gotta warn people, my ps3 has been acting up so I won’t be bringing it anymore. I probably need a new console so if you wanna play on more than 1 setup that only really has marvel or KoF.
I wish more dudes in Wilmington played KoF13 =/
So I was at Jon’s on Saturday and something hit me, thinking about it afterwards.
More people need to come back and play games. KOF is good. Please come and play it with us.
I can see why he’s down on the scene right now. For gatherings, his or otherwise, he’s generally the best player of games present and few (largely no) players are making it out to give him a level of higher competition. I guess this could be on him (and me) to go further out to the east/south to play with some of you guys, but I don’t even know if much of that is going on? Where is Matt Frank? Is Roski in Greensboro yet? Our old players, our group of “beat each other down so we can get good at stuff” group is left in small fragments everywhere yet new guys are springing up all over the place. What should be a time of growth for everyone is them just testing waters and deciding if they even are into this stuff, from how I see it.
It should have at least a few of you fired up to know that Jon is one of the best here at KOF Come out and show us how it’s done. The HD combo he actually finishes only does 60% with a neomax, so I don’t think there should be any complaining about that ;p
tl;dr - play more, old guys - as far as serious/travel players, it feels like just the 6 or so of us that went to NEC 
I kind of think the new people are really reluctant to come to Jon’s cuz we just don’t know each other and some people feel weird about just goin’ to some dudes apartment to play games they’re not even really into. I notice a lot of people post too, but they don’t really do anything about it, Jon does a little bit of screening I’m sure, but as long as you don’t come off like that one New Yorker guy who popped off, it should be fine.
I don’t really care about KoF but I’m focusing on Marvel even if I suck, I’m trying to improve the piddly-ass scene we have. If I had more money, I’d travel more but it is what it is.
Matt Frank is probably training under a river, just waiting to unleash his murderous intent on NC. Thats right, I said river.
We still play in greenville guys. It is just not regular because we all have jobs and conflicting schedules ect (megan). We even have some new blood that has started showing up when we actually can have a full on gathering. Also, I’ve been sick which is why I couldnt session in greenville on weds or go to raleigh thursday. I’ll let Matt speak for himself, but he is trying to be his best in Marvel or anything else he is playing as usual.
I’m also trying to make much more of an effort to make it out to raleigh and fayetteville sessions, but things seem to get in the way more often then not. Whatever, I’ll be gearing up for a fun weekend with my first ReSe appearence on Saturday and no work sunday. I may come and stay in raleigh friday night as well.
It would be nice if people came out to greenville once in a while. Honestly it doesnt matter that much for me, I gotta drive 40+ min to get there anyways lol

Hey i’ve been absent for a MINUTE, and if you dont know, this is Xaiah, or Xiah, or Isaiah, or Guy who plays Gen, or Guy who played Thor in vanilla marvel lol; any how:
Me, and a couple people from Raleigh have restarted the Raleigh scene. what i mean by that is there was a misconception that the scene in raleigh was defined by a video that showed people playing at Edward Mckays laggy tvs etc. Also there were chammps tournaments also in the past with laggy tvs, free shxt, buy backs in tournaments @_@ etc. Sooooooo with that being said, We are starting with a new Tournament series. The details are, The venue IS CHAMMPS, but that is a good thing. We are not using any of that equipment. We have been in the works to use our own setups and monitors and what not. So in terms of equipment, the tournament staff has 4 setups (all Xbox360). We have 2 23in Asus monitors and Two Lagless Plasma Tvs (THEY ARE LAGLESS). As of right now we run AE2012 and UMVC3. These tournaments ARE every wednesday. As of right now we are alternating between the two due to setups and Time ( Time being we have from 6pm-1am). We are running $2 venue and $3 Entry per game (we’re building our community from the ground up so we’re starting slow :} )We’ve already ran 2 pilot events that were a success. The 3rd event which is this Wednesday, January 11 2012 we are running UMVC3.
Ive been to a couple of tournaments and sessions around including GF, EZ, and Jon’s from time to time so i got a general idea of what needs to be done. However no one’s perfect so feedback and backlash is welcomed.
I also like to add that Famine have been to both tournaments so im thinkin he can vouch for me. But anyways any questions feel free to ask and i hope anyone around the area can help us grow, THANK YOUUUUUUU!!!
So sorry for the shut down of Gamefrog at NorthGate,but the mall is on its last leg and the business relationship was dissolving anyway. Good news is that some locations are under consideration and we should be operational in 2 to 3 months. Continue with plan B Jon. SaiSyu out.

I plan on being by there frequently since I live like right across the street, but still want to do meetings at the Den to fit more people since from what I hear the Den is dead now.

Lately I’ve been wondering where all the old heads are too. As much as me and Roski clashed when he was around, I’m pretty sure I’d be cool with him now. I just want the good comp and it seemed like Roski was always consistently ready to step it up in the games he played. Not many people in the current scene have that level of dedication really. Matt did too back in the old days and he’s a generally smart player. So if you Greenville guys are ever playing and want me to come out, I’ll make the drive and if Brent or whoever wants to come, we can all carpool. I’ve got the means to travel now and suddenly there’s no where to travel to lol
As far as good KoF players Brent, I’m probably the best of the current scene but with my weak sauce team I don’t know if that’d last once people get their tier whore on and learn HD combos 100%. Plus, Darrell is way better than me, he’s just somewhat ghost. If you ever find a chance to play him, that’s the guy to go to if you wanna level up. My Takuma has 90% in training mode but I always drop that shit in real matches lol. I’ll get there eventually though. Getting better at his quick charge combos too so hopefully that’ll be tournament ready soon.
A place between Raleigh and Greenville? That sounds like WILSON. But who would have a new house that he just moved into that we could play at?
Generally the new guys that do show up come once then never come again lol. I think they get overwhelmed by the guys there or something and don’t think they can compete or don’t feel welcome or something, but honestly, I don’t mind any skill level at my place. Everyone has to get their ass beat to get good, that’s just how it is.
Matt has that underwater breathing buff so he can train under the river.
Was planning on coming this wednesday already, but I think most of you have met Isaiah right? Eitehr way I can vouch for this guy, and it seems like they’re trying to put a good effort forward with these weekly tournaments, so I’d say lets get out there and support it.

Thanks Jon, and yeah i realized that our scene is not as developed as other scenes, so this is something to look forward to if you are around the surrounding area. I would like to have a higher entry fee in the near future to attract other cities, IE. greensboro, fayetville, charlotte, etc. but again we must start somewhere. Believe Me, I wish I had more Time to make it out to Sessions & Tournies but Real-Life has @ this Point has taken ova My Life & I simply dont have Time to Play much. Between Work & My Daughter I rarely find Time for Games. But I still LOVE Playing & I’m still as Competitive (when I do find the Time to get ah Game in) as I use to be when I was Playing everyday. Now d@ XIII is out, Ima try to make it out to more stuff though.
