I still think K’ is a good candidate for best character in the game. He’s too solid.
K’ is usually top tier in cases where they don’t horribly mess him up, so you could still make a point for him as well.
Yeah, I feel like in spite of the slight nerfs he got, he’s still very strong, and got some nice buffs in exchange. The anywhere juggle on EX Chain Drive is particularly nasty. He’s also still capable of dealing horrific damage in HD mode, given proper resources. 3 bars and full HD gives him a nice 897 damage combo. You can add a bar for 941, and on a situational setup, it goes from 941 to 1000 (full life) for the same resources.
I’ve heard K and the ice chick were pretty top tier characters in KOF. I might mess around with them some, but only time will tell if I ever really decide to run them. I think Andy is better than Terry, pen and paper wise anyway, but I like Terry more so I’m working some stuff out with him. At least I’ve got a decent idea on how to use him. Kyo was never intended to be my main, but I’m liking him more and more lately. Everything else I just need to hit the dojo and practice combos. Its nice to land 2-4 hit combos, but 10+ do more damage. Especially when you cancel into super.
Learned a lot while at Jon’s, so it was worth it for me. Overall I’ll be doing a ton of trial missions and even more execution practices.

Fuck that, Takuma is S Tier. Ryu, Zangeif, and Kevin Michaels had a baby and put on a tengu mask and we got Takuma. Bitch be zoning you then he’s like lol command grab into 80% life combo.
Also GGs at my place, thanks everyone who came out this weekend. 2 days straight of like 12 hour gaming sessions was definitely a good chance to level up. Will be doing weekend gatherings again in the future.

I like K but I don’t really get how to break guard that well with him and it feels like I can’t start combos with that fireball into the upkick unless i’m like inside of them. I guess he’s a meter only kinda character if you wanna put the hurt on…
Is Kensou competitive now? Everyone says he sucked before and I don’t know what they coulda changed to make him better since I’m a KoF scrub.
K’s big damage comes from the corner, having Drive and or super meter. In this sense, he’s not much different from most of the cast. Also, he has a legit reversal, which gives him an edge over Takuma.
I know this sounds crazy, but I will actually be at the ranbats this Friday. I finally get a Friday off. ^v^ Also I played Hugo101 in a FT10 on XBL like 2 nights ago and got my ass whipped. I was dropping everything. But I took a few matches, so I will live to fight another day. Is anyone doing anything today? I’m off.
I really hate the inputs in KoF, it has been giving me issues for like the past 3 days. I find it completely different than any other game I’ve ever played. Also some of the commands are kinda difficult for me to pull off anyway. Like I can’t even do cr. short x2 to command throw with Vice. I’m just not used to awkward hcb + forward type inputs. Will continue to practice until I am consistent
Having Goro as your anchor pretty much guarantees that you will kill at least 1 character. With full meter, any throw is almost already game over. Without meter, he has to play poke games, which he is decent at. Goro is crazy in this game.
I was actually gonna ask the same thing cause I’m in the mood to play games today. I’ll make some calls and give you a heads up. Also I’m picking AE back up and taking it more seriously, currently looking at the 2012 changes and trying to decide a new main.

I’ll prolly be there too, need more time with the game. Ever since I’ve started playing Catherine, it’s been practice in Babel or doing matches against people, so everything else kinda fall to the wayside.

But K doesn’t have dat COMMAND DERP or the mid screen damage that Takuma can probably do. Also the ex flying kick corners people really fast and combos off 2B. Totally different characters though. K just seems so straight forward to me, I really need to see a good one to figure out why he’s S tier.
I can’t question K being S Tier since some of the stuff I’ve seen makes sense when people explain why he is. The little I do know his fireball options and DP help out with his tier status. Maybe it’s because he has a good straight forward style. Pretty basic, but pretty strong as well. I know very little about K, so for the most part I’m just throwing out personal beliefs.

K’s midscreen damage is actually pretty good, he just has to spend a little bar. He can do about 50% for two bars and one Drive cancel, not much of a commitment. People just have to get accustomed to his new stuff, EX Trigger -> Second Shoot is ridiculous. I’ll post up some combos when I get back from class today.
The command grab doesn’t bother me that much with Takuma, it’s not instant and I think alternating guard is still in this game, so ticking with it is a bit harder than you would expect. Takuma is also just as reliant on meter for his damage as K’ is.
