Funny part is most of the stuff he was doing, Skrull can already do in Vanilla.
But Air X-Factor helps him A LOT. Also the armor on his Orbital Grudge as an assist and point just seems…better somehow.
It makes me happy to see you guys say this stuff because i just started learning kurt yesterday.
In all fairness MvC2 was on it’s way out the door by 2006. People wanted a Marvel 3 way before the end of Marvel 2’s lifespan.

PS- Phoenix Wright is going to get worked by teleport/tridashing if he thinks spamming Maya while he searches for clues is really going to be THAT easy.

If he calls Maya and does it outright, yeah. Buy if he calls her and steps forward INSIDE her shield rather than behind it, it probably will be pretty easy. The shield blocks on all sides and has a good bit of armor and blocks supers too, as much as it can before Maya leaves anyway. Skrull and characters with a ranged command grab might be able to scoop him out of it though.
Training(move list, combos, hit box analysis, match up analysis) ,game engine mechanics(properties,movement,) frame data (advantage vs disadvantage, wiff punishment…ect)

But are you REALLY going to be able to just run to where Maya is just to hide in her shield while you look for clues? You’re invincible as long as Maya is on screen, do you really want to be standing back up into a 50/50 against another character?
Is he invulnerable to beam hypers and instant full screen supers like gravity squeeze?
It just doesnt sound realistic. You’re safe while she’s out, but when she leaves thats your ass again.
Nobody is dumb enough to do anything full screen against Magneto with Level 3.
Don’t forget you can have Maya AND an assist out at the same time.
It seems like most successful Wright players were using the same script:
–Start him off as a point because your opponent’s options for punishment are much more limited due to meter
–Tag him out once he gets evidence because Aerial Exchange is by far the best way to land objection as Wright has few options to open up an opponent and most players will be playing defensively to avoid Objection.
I would think you can command grab Wright out of the Maya shield, it only looks to have physical hit properties. I’d say best bet with wright like people said is to get that evidence, get him out, then do a TAC (the one that gives you a meter would be perfect for this) land objection, combo into the judge super and then DHC out. Not that phoenix can’t do a little work on point in turnabout but he basically has 3/4 screen invincible tatsu assist with a wall bounce, no need to have him on point when he adds so much to the team as an assist.
Yeah, I’ve been playing skrull as my secondary team for a while. Always thought he was good… maybe not S tier but definitely A. He really didn’t change much, and was already a threat in vanilla. Having aerial meteor smash just makes him better though, especially vs phoenix where you can jump out of the shit storm and then come down on her like a hot ton of bricks. And he loves you homo party aka inferno x factor inferno is going to rape everything. Assists aren’t safe!
So it’s confirmed that orbital grudge has armor on the assist? Any word on how soon it goes active? That was already his best assist lol
I’m thinking of running the EZ weekly as normal on Friday, go to ReSe on Saturday morning, stay the night in Charlotte then come back on Sunday. So you can probably come to the weekly and just stay the night at someone’s house. Currently confirmed to go are me, Nathan, Raf and Sal.

You guys do remember that the special modes still time out as an assist, right? If you’ve got Wright in Turnabout, I doubt you’d want to waste that time with him off of the playing field.
Really? I thought it was like every other character’s powered up modes where the timer stops when they’re tagged out. Well there goes some ideas out the window.
Every powered up mode keeps running out. It’s one of the first Ultimate system changes. I remember the Hsien-Ko players crying very vividly.
Orbital Grudge had armor as an assist in Vanilla; it takes a while to become active, though.
This doesn’t mean much, tbh. When the game isn’t out yet, results like these couldn’t be more insignificant.
It had armor on point in Vanilla, as well. Now I think it’s just a 1-hit absorb active the whole time, but I’m just guessing. All I know is that I saw Nasty use the assist to blow through a lot of things during the stream.
This, Just in case anyone didn’t watch it or even remember before the game was officially out it was gamespot or some online gaming news outlet that had a tournament, tons of famous people entered like F.Champ and all them and some completely random guy that I haven’t heard about at all since that tournament had won the whole thing.
I remember the time out too, but I thought it only deducted time if you used the assist. And kept the clock frozen if they were off screen. I could be wrong though.
