Yeah I was just mostly speaking from the 3S perspective. The fact that cr.MP -> SAIII with Ken is a link and cr.MK -> SAII with Chun is a late cancel is not really that important to remember, what matters is just whether or not you can do it. SF4 is a totally different game, though the whole “can’t cancel rapid-fire shorts/jabs” came from ST originally, IIRC.

Both those normals can be linked or canceled.
There are answers to that in SF4 that don’t completely rape the eye sockets of the concept of the in close game. IE a commitment is involved.
EDIT: No, Tom, low mk xx houyoku is a late ass cancel and cannot be linked. It’s at disadvantage on hit vs a standing opponent, and even vs crouching, so a link wouldn’t be possible. It’s just cancellable incredibly late in it’s animation. Ken low strong can be cancelled, but that’s not what it’s for; the power in that move comes from the ability to link it to shippu.
