it’s the thing you put this on. I think Sanwa makes it and so does Charmin. haha.

dude, I want to buy that just so I can put some TP on it in my bathroom. Don’t think I won’t.
Also, somebody recorded all the madness at the tourney right? I couldn’t bring my camera since I was already lugging around that other stuff.
anyone training in MoW’s, or can someone get me a copy. holla
Dogg, Ive been calling you but you never answer your phone. Check your P.M.'s.
Sucks I missed all the good times. I was on call so I couldnt leave my immediate area. Sounds like everything was hype though. Did someone record the loser leaves matches? How much bank did Matt take on that one? How many entrants did SF4 have…and as im seeing all the congratulatory posts im assuming Matt got paid for that one too? But the next one is in April?
At least I got my green headband though…
O.
I believe we had 32 for sf4.
edit: So…I’m probably going to play Rose lol =/
Some testing I did just now shows that interestingly her normal projectiles do the most base damage in the game. For example: Sonic Boom is 50 damage and 100 for EX, Hadoken is 70 and 100 for EX, Soul Spark is 80 and 130 for EX. Charged projectiles like Sak’s and Gouken’s do more damage, of course, at 120…but they obviously have range/startup issues respectively. MP and HP Soul Spark are also slow at startup, but LP comes out quick and flies slow. Sagat’s regular Tiger Shot is weaker, but his EX is a whopping 150.
Also interesting, Rose’s throw damage on both versions is 140, which is stronger than most of the cast including shotos and Abel, tied with Sagat/Gouken but not as strong as Zangief. I’ve also read that her throw range is buff and it does seem to be.
edit: oh yeah and absorbing stuff with LP reflect still powers up her sparks. 4 damage at a time I think?, up to around 108 or something.
Ed, I just watched your matches with Gootecks. Very well played sir.
SF4 got me so hype that when I got back Saturday night, I actually wanted to hook this game up and practice more. I usually need at least a day or some shit.
I’ll take the Daily Double for 3rd place please, Dave!
Thank you.:nunchuck:
No money, just serious play Arcade style.:nunchuck:
FR update, I got a smoking room for Pete, Brian and me for Friday and Saturday night. I’m leaving after work on Friday so I’ll miss all the games on that day but still make it for main event, Tony vs High Life - round three.
Roski and folks, get that shit already.
…and good to see everyone at Luckys. See you all again in two weeks.
Holla
KOF 12 dated for USA, off IGN:
looks like both console owners will be happy… and it’s not to terribly far either.
July? That’s great! Awesome year for fighting games. Now we just need Blazblue. Hopefully there won’t be 37 delays like with every other SNK game. My US 98UM shipped like yesterday I think?
FINAL ROUND.
Is anybody leaving on Thursday afternoon or evening? I took Friday and Monday off and was planning on working a bit on Thurs. I don’t want to have to take three days off…
Or maybe somebody’s not staying for the Sunday games so I could switch my days off to Thurs/Fri? Trying to be careful with my time since I was just out for almost three months

I’m sorry, but I have to hate on this game.
First of all, I can’t understand the mindset of people who have never really played any KOF getting hyped over the game just because of the graphics. If you didn’t like the games before, you’re not going to find anything in the gameplay this time to like either.
Secondly, while I don’t give a shit about the graphics (bad graphics have never prevented me from playing any game, and good graphics have never enticed me to play any game I don’t enjoy) these graphics are BELOW the CPS3 benchmark set by Capcom with Warzard and the SF3 series. I hated on Nona’s aesthetic style before, but now that the game is 95% complete I’ve begun hating on seeing the game in motion.
The animation itself doesn’t look terribly better than Blazblue.
Compared to Warzard and 3rd Strike it’s a joke, especially since they’ve spent 5 whole years on it.
The models STILL have the same stiff, lame animation for knockdowns. It looks absolutely amateur.
Compare to how the character fall stiff to the ground and bounce without flinching to how Hugo falls when he’s swept. Or Necro when he safe falls. Or Kenji when he wakes up from a knockdown.
The hit and grab effects are equally as bad. Look in the trailer when Daimon grabs Athena with his HCF+A–she has the same stiff, flat animation all throughout. Like she’s being pulled by a magnetic force than Daimon’s hands. Or when Kyo grabs Benimaru with his HCB+K, and Beni’s sprite translates itself to the left in thin air. Terrible.
The hit effects are as weak as they’ve always been. When Alex headbutts you in 3rd Strike or Ryu hits with his ShinSho you FEEL it. The lack of hit effects is one of the most prominent complaints about SNK games I hear from Capcom fanboys, and this game lives up to that legacy. Most people don’t even consciously think about it, but it’s important. It’s one of the reasons games like 3rd Strike feel more intense to most people when actually playing it.
As for the gameplay, Critical Counter looks really dumb. So it automatically start depleting once it’s full (and it seems like EVERYTIME you hit, get blocked, or get hit it fills up), so you just stick out a poke and by chance if you get a counter hit you can mash out a custom combo ending with super.
Visually and gameplay-wise, at this point it strongly resembles the dial-a-combos from Rage of the Dragons which is NOT GOOD.
They’ve also said not to expect the console ports to have any extra characters or download content like SF4, so that’s a fucking waste of a perfectly good opportunity to fine-tune the game. No Mai, no Yuri, no K’, no Oswald, no Jenet, no Kula , no Yamazaki, no Billy, no Geese, nor Rock or any other character that people actually like and really WANT, instead we get Andy and Daimon. Outstanding.
And since it’s SNK, people who actually expect decent netplay in the US are only a tier above in naivete than those who expect netplay at all with GG Accent Core Plus or KOF 98’ UM
No Yamazaki? Fuck that game!
Addendum: CLASH FRAMEZZZZ

I understand how you feel about the animation. 3S to me still has some of best fluidity I’ve ever seen in a 2D fighter (maybe I haven’t seen enough other fighters?). But I find blazblue’s animations pretty good if you ask me. One of the few things I think have 3S may have over BB and KOFII is that some of its characters have better idle animations. Elena’s, necros, Alex’s standing animations are pretty cool. Other than that I kind of agree about KOF’s stiff fall down animations. But that doesn’t bother me too much.
Honestly, in terms of graphics and visuals, KOF blows BB out of the water. Raiden looks too good. BB to me has great animation. I’m always impressed to see Rachel’s standing animation, Nirvana (Carl’s robot) do any of its moves, or see Arakune in actions because their movements are just so smooth.
So…yeah
3S animation is so overdone it’s masturbatory.
There’s enough pure truth here to kill Satan.
I think that we should wait to judge whether or not KOFXII is good or bad until it’s out in all regards. Speculation sucks.
That game sucks because it has stuff and this character is that and I don’t like this play mechanic.
Discuss.
