At least you guys don’t think I’m Jet from Cowboy Bebop. That was the 2nd weirdest dude I ever met in the military.

What the hell, Chad. YOU NEVER GO FULL RETARD.
But…I don’t…seeeeeee…
ahhhhhhhheadasplode:grrr:
If nobody has said anything I will say good stuff in TVC at sinsation. I saw you play and you certainly know what you are doing. Two thumbs up!
Yeah, I had to ROOM with that psycho for about two months before I met by best friend in the military, who called me from Honduras. Apparently all you have to do to get a maid down there is make Staff.
The sad thing about that guy was I got rid of him through him getting married, to someone I thought was sane and normal. Bizarre.
Dear NC,
In regards to our new Street Fighter fighting game, I would like to purchase a Next Gen console. As it stands now I’m leaning more towards buying a 360, solely for the cheaper price (http://slickdeals.net/). I don’t have much interest in other games. Somebody please make a decision for me.
Sincerely,
- JiBz
360… better online play… and converter for ps3 from a ps2 arent that expensive…
Jibbs…get a PS3. Metal Gear, Blazblue, T6BR, KOF12, etc etc.
I just had to make this decision recently myself. The 360 is all proprietary so good sticks are going to be a pain, has region lock, and no movie player (even though that part isn’t that interesting to me). If you think you may play online, the online is free on PS3. Tournament standard will also probably be PS3 due to the stick issue. There is a good PS3 pcb so converters aren’t even necessary. It may also be a good idea to consider who has what system since the online communities are separate.
I would like to send a special thank you to a good friend who helped me out with this system. The gesture and act are greatly appreciated good sir.
Thanks man.
This. If you’re going to play fighting games, PS3.
ps3 online is sooooooooooooo shity bunch of freaking randoms yea it has some console exlcusives but who cares i dont think thats gonna last anyway. xbox 360 is the better overall system online community is the best, you pay for a reason.
and with the stick, you can always make one from a wired madcatz or mod the ex2
Depends what you’re looking for,
If you look to continue just playing locals, PS3 should be fine. If you want a better calibre of online comp, 360. (more of the top SRK STHD players are on 360) Also it’s guaranteed 360 titles will not have worse netcode then PS3.
The one downside to 360 is you’ll need 2 sticks- a 360 stick, and a pS2/PS3 converter. I just got a PS3 stick that’s cheap, as there are no PS2 fighters I want to play anymore- and KOF I’m done with. (I don’t trust it for tourney until I play on it though, and it’s possible I may have to leave tourney scene due to work anyways)
kOF12 is on both systems, as is Tekken, Blazblue will likely be on both as well.
shrug PS3 if you don’t want to have to send your system off to be replaced by MS.
Not counting discounts, going as cheap as I can think
Cost for PS3 = $400 + $60 (SF4) + $20-30 (good converter) = $490 + tax
Cost for 360 = $200 (arcade) + $60 (SF4) + $50 (Live Subscription) + $70 (new stick) + $75 (parts to make new stick not shit) + $20-30 (PS3 converter you’ll need for tournament anyway) = $485 + tax. Add $100 to get the Pro model that comes with hard drive and HDMI (you say now you don’t need HDMI and then 3 months from now you’re going to want it). That doesn’t include if you want to add Wi-Fi connectivity (~$100 for MS adapter, free on PS3). And as Mr. Mansour pointed out, risk of catastrophic system failure with 360 that puts you into Microsoft’s repair purgatory.
If your 360 breaks MS pays for it, if your PS3 breaks, and they do break some, you’re SOL.
Generally, RROD on newer systems rarely happens. I’d say reliability rates now are about the same. You just have that guarantee from Microsoft if it does happen.
The 360 online is the reason to get it. If you never want to play online, PS3 is fine, but online does raise your game in ways playing only locals can’t. Especially for SF4, where not every char is gonna be played. One thing I never have to worry about in tournies anymore is seeing something I’m completely unfamiliar with, if I can play the game online.
 . PSN connections are just as good. The only people I see complaining about PSN connections when I’m playing are people who are too cheap to pay for a good high speed connection, don’t have their ports forwarded or are playing online with a wireless connection. I always have great connections on MGO & wipEout HD all the time when I’m playing online.
, you can share your PSN game & expansion downloads for free with up to 5 other PS3s. So you’ll save money mooching games and add-ons off my PSN account. If Street Fighter 4 does release new characters via download, you’ll get them for free from me or others from your game sharing network. I have Jae, Kevin & Adam in mine. I saved a slot for you and Tony if he gets a PS3.
:wonder: Also Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune is really good, and Uncharted: Among Thieves, Kill Zone 2, X Edge & God of War III are a couple that will all be coming out this year…
You already have my stick and converter so there’s no need to waste money getting those like you would if you got a 360. Since the PS3 is region free, you’ll be able to get games in the future that may only come out in Japan and play them on your PS3 without modding it. This is kind of a stretch but you’ll probably save money on entry to fees to Roski’s tournaments if are providing your PS3 for tournaments. Last time I heard, the 360 has a 33% chance of RRoDing on you, so you’ll spend more time bragging about “how much better online is” while you’re waiting on Microsoft to send you another 360 and crossing your fingers that your new one doesn’t RRoD on you. The Xbox 360 Arcade you’re referring to doesn’t have a hard drive in it (I think it has a 256 MB memory card) so good luck saving all your downloaded characters and other add-ons for SF4 and other games on that. As for “better community” on 360, you have just as many people on PSN and 360 cussing at you, dropping on you and using racial slurs on you, the only difference is you don’t have to pay for it on PSN. All in all, the PS3 is the better choice and despite it’s more costly base price you’ll save more money in the long run with the PS3… dood.
get both… I don’t have to pick or choose but I still get stuck reading a shit load of posts about what one sucks endlessly.
TRUTH. I just got off the phone with my brother, who had just bought a Pro from somebody and after updating to the latest patch it won’t read discs at all lol. This is the third he’s sent back.
I obviously have both systems, I’ve had two 360s myself. I don’t know where this “better online” thing comes from, I can’t play Xbox Live games at all with the only guy I want to play them with. Whether it’s Castle Crashers, DOA, that Tenchu game, Metal Slug, whatever…it just doesn’t work. SC4 with him on PS3 works with a 4 or 5 every time.
wow. You’re like the first person I’ve seen prefer PS3 online. Castle Crashers online was borked- but that was issue with the game. Metal Slug same I think. As for 360- the used 360’s have a huge failure rate, new ones have a lot lower one, and I’ve heard of newer model PS3’s breaking more then the older ones.
BTW GG to lobo and blackspade in HD- helped my game out some. Blackspade- you really do need to fix your connection- you give me more lag then the Japanese dudes I played in VF.
Lobo- your Ryu put me under a lot of pressure- I needed that.
