Norcal Downtown Throwdown (NDT) July 29th UPDATED: BRACKET INFORMATION

So there’s no PS3?

No. First off we cant run both systems that would congest things and cause problems. Also xbox360 seems to be the popular vote for the NDT.

I’m gonna be bringing a vf5 setup. Who is the other person bringing a setup? I’m down to press buttons on tekken 6 to help support the 3d scene. I can also bring sc5 if anyone is interested.

some of us are coming from merced and i let the fresno guys know about it. hopefully they can come through. is tinh running it cause he is gonna use his stream?

Yeah tinh is running marvel. I am running SFIV. I have to ask him if he is streaming but as far as I knew Moe had offered but I havnt heard from him.

I am happy to let everyone know that we (NDT) will be participating with Drom in a beta program that is a ranker system. If you have not heard of it here is a link to the page describing the details and future plans of the ranker http://dromstruction.com/arcade-fighters-league-rating-system-begins-july-30th . I also wanted to let people know that MOE has graciously volunteered to stream the tournament.

k schmidt sounds good hmu @ 510 921 6985, ill try and get there around 10am to set it all up
any chance someone can bring an extra mic or 2? rock band mics work perfect

Allright bro. I think I can scrounge up two of those.

I’m definitely going. Definitely bringing one friend with me, probably bringing another.

Nice I think this may be one of the biggest NDT’s yet. Also it will be the first time that we have streamed the tournament thanks to Moe!

Might be there a little after 1, but I’ll be there for sure. Should be fun!

Thanks for the tournament! Had fun, and looking forward to the next one.

It’s Snake Dux, like put up your dukes LOL

Always a good time at your tournies! Keep it up homie!

Haha yeah changed. Anyway man it was good times. Maybe I will be seeing ya on the 17th.

So two and a half weeks to grind until the next one. I should get off my ass and practice again… maybe.

Heck yeah man! Then when we start weeklies it will be on like donkey kong.

would they still be on sundays if they were weeklies/bi-weeklies?

Well the way I saw it was on saturdays from 3 or 4 - closing there would be a (undecided) maybe $2-$3 fee to just hang out and have a session. Then at the end of the month there could be a NDT.

My goals are to strengthen the community in both skill level and possibly bring interest to more games such as KOF, Persona4BA, SFXT. Hopefully get people to level up in pre existing games such as SSFIV and UMVC. We can setup the 8 monitors we usually use and then people can bring in more to get in free if the setups are needed.

The store is investing in their own streaming equipment and looking into employing a couple people from the scene to work/run the stream. In future events.

I see it this way. There more often we have sessions the more confident players become and the more people will level up. The more interest it will generate which makes our tournament turnouts larger. We have a venue that is willing to invest in our community. We have earned their trust and respect now it’s up to us to take advantage of that.

It took 4 years but we are slowly moving in the right direction.

The main concern I would have with something like Wednesday Night Fights type of thing is that we have good turnouts but the fesno cats come from 3 hours away and alot of people also come from merced, modesto, elk grove, davis. Some of those are a long drive and to have weekly tournaments I cant see them making the drive that often.

I am not saying it wont happen but the tournaments would definitly be smaller until the local community got more involved.
