The commentators (Ski and Spooky) say that it works due to you having to wait 15 frames after you attempt to break a TAC before you can try to break another TAC.
Also, During Chris Schmidt vs F. Champ’s match at FR, while the match was 2-1, Chris Schmidt countered Champ’s glitch attempt, so I don’t think it’s definitely guaranteed.
Yeah I tried countering the up tac to down/back air dash side tac whhiff in training mode and I was able to counter whether the recording glitched or not. Not sure if I was setting it up wrong or what.
I’m pretty sure I did explain how they work and how to break them…
Shuma can do the same TAC glitch that Morrigan/Spidey/Zero/Chun can do (TAC, dash cancel, TAC) but I’m pretty sure he can’t do it by himself (can’t put himself in a neutral state) so he needs to be TACed into to be able to do it.
@DevilJin 01, the way you’re describing it is not how it works. You’re meant to dash and whiff an up/down TAC first before going into the side TAC. So if you were mashing side the whole time you’d fail to break the whiffed up/down TAC and then the side TAC would hit you in the next 15 frames making you unable to break it. So to break the setup you have to start mashing after they whiff their first up/down TAC.
Sorry I didn’t disregard what you said, I was just going off of memory (i.e. I’m pretty sure it was said that the TAC glitch was unbreakable before though I didn’t check before I posted my last comment and the remark doesn’t seem to be here now), and combining this with my inability to fully comprehend the glitch previously resulted in my confusion lol.
But in all seriousness, you distinguishing between those who can do it from a neutral state and those who need to be TAC’d in to perform the glitch has clarified things for me now. And I have been able to perform the glitch with Magneto and Captain America so I have been paying attention lol ^^
The only the only unbreakable TAC was with Zero with sougenmu activated in vanilla (I think there may have been something similar with Shuma eyeballs, though I can’t remember) which got taken out in ultimate.
I can’t think of an instance where someone does a TAC, you push the correct direction just before the attack hits you, then you still get hit by the TAC.
