Non fighting games that require quick reflexes and strategic thinking

everytime i go to an anime convention, the gameroom has these tablet music games. there so dope…i wish i owned a tablet just to play them.

If you like Tetris I would highly recommend Super Puzzle Fighter. It’s very similar in concept only it differs in that there is a risk reward element to the gameplay. What the opponent does can have a significant effect your game too. Check out the footage below. You can get HD Remix on xbl and psn, I think even steam very cheaply. I would love to see a mini comp at EVO for this game, the commentary would be hella entertaining as well lol.

You can play FPS games that have 1 shot kills too, but then you have the problem of learning control schemes, game mechanics etc, so there will be a large learning curve if you aren’t already familiar with FPS games.

Super Meat Boy. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFuck that game and it’s arduous design.
Arkham City new game + also requires some quick thinking.

Racing sims.

Quake 3, Counter Strike (not Source), Super Meat Boy, oldschool NES games, Bionic Commando Rearmed Challenge Rooms, Bullet Hell games, Metal Slug 3.

Dark Souls or if you got a PS3 Demon Souls

Unreal Tournament

Tetris TGM

Grab the boob and dodge a restraining order. It takes mad skill, yo.

World of Goo!

This so much… so fucking much. That video of the guy beating it… yeah, there’s only one video… yes, he’s Asian

Donkey Kong.

Might as well go old school.

Speaking of japanese rhythm games. Here’s someone who’s familiar thats not asian

 He’s pretty good

IIDX is more muscle memory than reactions to me, sorta like playing one 2 min long combo if it aint on random.

why? it was still sprayNpray. people ran around like dawn of the dead(2004) zombies. collision detection was kinda retarded. I was spraying so much and most of it didn’t register.

Like tetris: Super Puzzle Platformer Deluxe. I’ll link a video after work, game is really fun

I run with the night stick and the RPG, so for me I’m always on the move, assessing who’s got the dangerous guns I have to keep away from, where to place the RPG shot so I can appropriately flank them and take them out with the night stick(which is one hit kill) Gotta understand which places are most concentrated with activity, so you can run around it and avoid attention, and you gotta be able to asses numbers and how many people are running in pairs behind each other, There are alot of blind spots in this game, and that’s not exclusive to free aim too, my brother forces me to play soft lock since it’s the most populated area.

I will agree, that collision detection is just brutal sometimes especially when I get bopped when my swing seems to wrap around them without hitting them.

I’m glad the nightstick came out though because originally I would run around gun butting people but with the stick it’s just Bam and then I keep it going.

The mgo formula works for me, unfortunately I don’t respect it enough in MGO. I can post vids if you like, and I can only speak on my experience, but then agian I guess that’s the point of this thread XD
