No Forum Game No Life - Game Start!

Yeah, I’m more than happy for Hecatom to have his turn. I think the only reason I’d be going ahead of him is if people were still sick of mafia.

The game is over @Aidebit, @Sumazndude‌. You can come out of hiding now

*They were. I’m still not sure if I’ll even be able to play the next game that runs, but we’ll see.

Game has a great premise, but the execution needs some retooling. Correspondence wasn’t really working out, I think trying to put “cheats” for each game can work. Specially for fighting games because they usually have a built in handicap option.

You two just flew a little too close to the sun and got burnt. Great idea, great potential. *

The thing is that i am not sure if people is ready to say it in a way to play mafia again, my game kinda needs at least 25 players to work well, and seeing how everyone was quite apathic on the last game i think that we need a bigger cooldown of mafia games.
Don’t get me wrong, i want to run my game, but i also think that at least for now, is better if we take a time from mafia games and focus on other stuff for a while :wonder:

It is why i started working on my VIP game

BTW, what is your game, an arena game right?

We may as well run a VIP game right now.

online mario party 64 lets goooooooo

There were several reasons we didn’t want to do fighting games.

-Latency issues would be frustrating for everyone involved

-Accessibility would be an issue. If someone didn’t have a particular game then they flat out wouldn’t be able to participate

-We couldn’t enforce cheats very easily if it wasn’t a game that we had a lot of control over. Even if a FG had a handicap feature, it’d be only one possible cheat.

-These forum games have been about what you can do behind a keyboard using words, not behind a stick. Tricking someone isn’t a skill that you use very often, as opposed to playing a raw game against someone where there are very few possible variables

I appreciate the suggestion though Hecatom, sorry if I seemed annoyed by it.

Well I just got back from going to the international (dota tourney), and I have to say that I am sad but not too surprised about this game ending. I think that the idea was (and still is) awesome, however the implementation didn’t quite work out. I would give my two cents on how to improve it, but frankly I have no idea.

Also, preemptive in on whatever game is being run next, whether it be mafia or survivor or whatever else.

What happened to the humans and war beasts? They didn’t even play one game.

We were too busy arguing about the games we should play and our land names.

Aw come on guys, I leave for 4 days and the game ends?

Correction, 6 days

we had the best land names anyways so whatever

yeah sumazndude, its sad but look at what happened in 6 days

pretty much nothing :frowning:

So @Hecatom are you not running your game now? I don’t think anyone has said they’re still burnt out on mafia but I could be wrong.

Otherwise I’m going to have to take a week or so to get everything organised for my game.

Personally I haven’t played anything since the Ratchet & Clank Arena game, I’d be down for anything.

I think that we should wait until lets say september to run the next mafia game, but that is me, like i said, my concern is that i run this game and ends like the last 2 games where everyone is so apathic about it with everyone barely participating, plus i think that i need at least 25 players to make it work

I really want to run my mafia game, but i don’t want to run it just to see it fail because no one was interested in playing :shake:

Like I said, all-star game…

I personally don’t think an all-star game makes much sense after a hiatus. At least give em a game or two to get back into the groove of things.

@Synonym‌

Remember I’m an autolock for anything survivor

Newbie Training Grounds before all-star game, IMO
