Before i forget…I wapnted to mention that I installed the new 3DS demo station in my store. It should be getting put up at various retailers by now. There’s a Majora’s Mask demo that lets you play the beginning, roam around clock town or fight Odalwa. Game looks great in 3D and now its even better since the thing tracks your face. Does a really good job of doing…I can easily see myself replaying games and getting immersed all over again. Probably a good time to replay LoZ: ALBW after I finish with Majora’s Mask…That is if I’m not too busy getting my ass handed to me by monsters while I’m probably playing with you guys.

How good is the new tracking? Does it track only in the horizontal plane or does it also do a bit of the same in the vertical plane? Thinking about picking one up with MM.
Tried out the Codename STEAM demo. Shit is very fun and is very similar to V. Chronicles. But i’d say that fact that you can regain steam if you backtrack, and that you need to reserve steam to counter attack does add a little plane of strategy.
A few times I have let the enemy come to me and I kill them first, as opposed to fully walking where they can counter me. Bam! Or you can scout ahead and if you can see an enemy that’s gonna come, you can backtrack and save that steam for a counter and keep the left over steam(if you have some left after countering). i can definitely see myself using this type of shit. Definitely gonna buy
I love the fact they incorporated the Fire emblem charactee as well.
Meant to respond to this earlier. It’s more tracking for the horizontal plane than the vertical. You can actually tell when the image is shifting if you hold your head pretty far from the 3DS and tilt it in a slow manner. The tracking is pretty good imo. If you happen to be near a GS or retailer that has the demo unit up I recommend checking it out and playing with it.
I actually tilted my head to the side to see what the tracking would do and it looked like it wigged out for a moment as if it was saying ‘WHAT…YOU CAN’T…I DON’T…FUCK IT!’ and seemed to kinda give up on tracking my eyes went into a neutral state as if nobody was in front of it.
I’m thinking about getting a 2ds so I can get at albw mm remake and MH4 whats your guys opinion of the 2ds

Got the chance to try that N3DS I gotta say the new tracking is much better than I thought it would be. The only time I broke the 3d effect was when I did it on purpose. As for the C-stick it seem fine for camera control but I don’t know how it will do for a FPS. It felt slow when moving the camera up or down but that might just have been how it worked on the Zelda demo.

I actually haven’t been able to play my 3DS in almost 2 weeks, ironically not long after they announced that you’d need to use your old AC cords with the New 3DS XL since they won’t come shipped, I accidentally tore up my own stepping on it the wrong way one too many times. The new one should arrive later this week.
Meanwhile a comparison of Xenoblade Chronicles 3D visuals against the original… although it should be noted these are all cinema scenes,
looks like it’s made of nintendium aka indestructible and it’s very light compared to the OG and XL. Pretty comfortable as well.
I remember an issue of Gamepro in the reader mail someone said he was packed in a van with his family going to see his grandma and somehow the gameboy color fell out of the car, the boy didn’t notice for awhile, but his parents were nice enough to drive back and found it on a busy road where hundreds of cars must have ran over it by then, but he turned it on and it still worked.

I still remember when my gamecube was sitting on the top of my bookshelf. Fell about 5 feet onto linoleum floor and still worked just fine.
Nice, yeah I’ll try and check it out in person. Going to head over to Target on the 13th hoping to snag a MM new 3ds. I heard the GS around me won’t have any non-reserve new 3ds.
would you say its more comfortable than the xl? I still found my hands cramping up if I used the thumb stick for extended periods of time
I haven’t played with the XL enough to make a comparison unfortunately. I’ve been on the OG 3DS since it hit the market and been sitting on it in hopes of what Nintendo is about to release in 3 days (3DS with 2nd analog). Someone else who has an xl and has tried out the new one will have to chime in.
Have an XL and mighty say i like the new one. I honestly never play with 3D on my XL due to battery life. Now after playing the new 3DS with head tracking 3D on i’m onboard. Somehow i gathered 2 other XL’s and going to do the trade in for the new one this Friday. Keeping my Pokemon Y XL thou since i just want to be safe then sorry. The new c-Stick number is actually pretty good for being what it is. Diff look forward to using it for MH.

Since you work at Gamestop, how much you’ll think I’ll get of I trade in a 2DS for a n3DS?
@Hawkingbird $45 2ds, $75 for OG 3ds, $100 for XL. It says different online.
Their trade in section of the website/App does not add the store trade in promotions. Just the flat rate they usually give.
