Nintendo 3DS - Best Handheld Today

Good platformers on the 3DS?

If you don’t have it on something else, I could recommend a few eShop gems. Gunman Clive (if you don’t have it on some other platform), Mutant Mudds, Mighty Switch Force 1 and/or 2 or really anything from WayForward. Also Bit.Trip.Saga if only because of Bit.Trip.Runner IMO.

The retail version which had he complete visual overhaul might be worth the look, although just to let you know the 3D version on eShop is Cave Story+ just with the 3D effect added.

I check out Gunman Clive and Mighty Switch Force. Those are definitely games I would like. Being eshop games I’m gonna have to buy an SD card. I should brought one while I was at Target

I actually meant the retail version, even though I have both.

I just fuckin love Cave story. I was kinda upset the retail version did wasnot plus. I would have loved to have boss mode.

I find my DS/3DS collection is growing at an amazing rate.

Sometimes, I just like flipping through my Hori cases looking at them.

I still need to get Black 2 & White 2.

But I haven’t even started on Black or White.

And now X & Y are coming soon.

Yeah generally I prefer pixels and sprites, but the 3DS visuals just add so much oomph to the game, too bad it doesn’t have boss rush mode, but that’s a minor complaint compared to the visual feast it delivers.

Buy Shinobi

You too.

No point getting BW2 if you haven’t played BW. It’s a direct sequel storywise, and there are a lot of legendaries and other gen 5 Pokemon missing. Get BW first.

I brought Shinobi today. I’m only on the first level and the game wastes no time in handing me my ass. I must have lost three lives getting through the first area alone. I see I won’t make it far unless I learn to parry everything.

Another victory for @Orochizoolander!

Zoolander is a one man army when it comes to marketing Shinobi lol. Sega should have hired him.

New Leaf still has it’s claws deep into me. I desperately need to get Marshall is a town resident. He looks like he’s angry all the time but he’s one of the coolest mofos ever! He likes chiptunes! On the flipside, Al and needs to get the eff out. Days of whacking him with the net and he still won’t get the hint!

For those that missed it the first time, Zero Escape: Virtue’s Last Reward is now available for digital download via eShop for $25.

Dropping in to say that Mario & Luigi Dream Team is fun as hell. I’m enjoying the game a good deal and the stuff going on with Luigi is endearing and I admit puts a smile on my face when I’m playing the game. Little stuff like when you’re in the dream world and Luigi in his sleep will at times react to what’s going on in the dream on his own like doing a fist pump, laughing, cower, etc. Sprite work that Alpha Dream put in to this game is nice as should be expected from these guys…they put a ton of energy into the animation for Mario and Luigi.

I saw a few complaints online about their being a ton of tutorials and there are quite a lot…but most of them can be skipped if you already know what to do so I’m unsure of why this is an issue if you’re given a choice.

Also here’s a new trailer for EO

Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millenium Girl - Story Trailer

Getting down parry timing is the most important aspect of the game, once you do everything becomes manageable even as each level is progressively harder than the previous one. Dont forget you have a ton of tools like sliding, jump kick, kunais, and combos at your disposal, the game is designed very intelligently to force the player to master the mechanics to advance. Just like so many old school platformers that devoured quarters like they were chin li’s home village on a Tuesday Shinobi is full of cheap shit that will kill you unless you already memorized the level in advance.

just keep trying eventually everything will click into place and you’ll breeze through levels.

The real victory would be getting one of my dream games made: a side scrolling Dead Space. The limb dismembering mechanic could work just as well in 2D as it does in 3D, perhaps even better with having to aim precisely at the joints with the stylus. WayForward did a perfect job on Contra and the Aliens franchise they would be the only developers fit to translate DS to the small screen.

As I said before Shinobi is one of the few modern games with quality and game play reminscent of classics like Mega Man X, Super Metroid, Ghosts 'n Goblins, and others. So when such a rare gem gets shitted on by dumbass critics who whine about it being too hard and it flops in sales badly enough to get the extremely talented studio that made it shut down its only natural to champion that nerdy injustice lol.

Amazon has it for $8.

I can easily write that off as “the sale’s tax I would have otherwise paid” in my next order.

We need a 3DS Ghouls 'n Ghosts.

STOP FUCKIN’ UP, CRAPCRUMB!

Gonna cop a 3ds xl with sonic generations and luigi’s mansion. Already have pokemon x pre-ordered.

I might be late to the party…but who else feels like Shin Megami Tensei 4 was tedious about everything it wanted you to do?.." Hey go kill this demon at a random subway station in Tokyo. You will be given vague and unhelpful hints that may require an understanding of various districts within the city."

Things only start to click once I have to repeat a level a couple of times. Level memorization is a thing with this game too. Being further in I’m liking it more now that I know how to shit parry. I would prefer if Kunais worked how they did in the previous games.

The Afterburner section of level 5 was awesome.

I gotta cop DKCR. Probably Thursday.

I got it a couple of months ago.

Just started it last night.

Really, really good.

Sold.
