If they are smart they’ll release it at $40. Which I think they will. Even Capcom is doing something similar with Dragon’s Dogma with the new Dark Arisen expansion but it’ll be $40 instead of $60.
Original NGIII is better than DmC. Not joking.
When I still worked for Gamestop we were still trying to sell LE copies of NG3. They dropped to $40 brand new, unopened…and still no takers.
I knew we would get Sigma 3 eventually.
Honestly If it is above 40 it’s a tough sale for a majority of gamers. I’m pretty confident the price will either be 40 at launch or drop to that very quickly due to poor sales.
I’ll buy it.
I’m buying that shit! Can’t wait.

What are the changes from vanilla to Razor’s Edge? I’ve tried watching videos of playthroughs of the Wii U version to see the changes, but dat fucking slowdown bugs the hell out of me. Wii U NGIII and NGS+ on Vita run like ass, goddamn.
Didn’t I tell you in great detail a few weeks ago? >_>
Edit: I hope there is an option for reduced blood and gore. That stuff never appealed to me which is probably why I am part of a rare few who likes Dat PuRpLe MiSt.
Double Edit: Apparently we got NGS2 because it had a different title an used a different engine so Hayashi could get away with copyright issues. NG2 was published by Microsoft. I wonder if they will use the Sigma engine for this game? The Sigma engine was very fluid but it still had some slowdowns but not as much as 360. RE slowdown is nothing compared to vanilla 3 though but I hear it’s still there. Some people are arguing that the game RE was only published in NA but I doubt that will stop us from getting it. PS3 is Region free anyway and they would have to region lock both the EU and JP version.
Something tells me Nintendo’s agreement was much less strict then what MS had.
Fuck…new costumes too?
I hope it’s not $60+ retail…
The fact you could get them from an in-game store system is great
My guess its gonna be $40, its still an upgrade of the original
Can’t lie… Hayabusa’s outfit is looking nice. I still want that red and black muscle suit though.
Agreed, Fiend Hayabusa looks menacing.

Sorry Sarangha, I forget most of that post. I didn’t absorb the info you posted too much because I thought it was for a game on a gaming console that I never plan to own.
I’m on day 8 in NGIII. I hate these command-grabbing magician bastards so much. I’ll finish that level off soon, though!
Fuck you, 2013. Quit making me buy games!
Dead Space 3, Infinite, Gears, CoD, MGR (maybe), and now this? This is like 2011 all over again.
Played through and beat NGIII a few days ago…
This whole game just breaks my heart. I have such a love and such a hate for it. Let’s get the good out of the way first.
So, the opening scene for this game was just awesome. Looking into those cold-blooded eyes through blood-ridden ones was such a cool idea. Which is one of the things I actually liked about this game: it just plain had some cool moments like that. The virtual reality segments, the chimeras breaking loose, going back to the battlefield with all the swords and shit…I liked all of that. And yet despite only having one weapon throughout the entire game, something about it all kept me coming back. I wanted to keep playing. Killing large groups of people and not getting hit once made me feel badass, despite the lack of options in terms of how I wanted to fight. A large factor in my liking for this game was probably helped by the fact that this was the first NG I’ve ever actually beaten, so a lot of it was pretty unique to me unlike the shallowness diehard fans of the series probably felt when playing it.
Another merit…the story. I mean yeah, it wasn’t great, but it could of been. I can definitely tell that NT was trying to take a darker approach, which makes complete sense for a character like Hayabusa. He’s cut down thousands and thousands of people and monsters alike, and now is cursed by the malice of every single one of those souls. This whole setup could have led to some amazingly awesome concepts both in terms of gameplay and deepening the storyline, but much to my dismay they never really took advantage of it in either aspects. Which is a shame, because you can tell by a few parts in the game that they very well could have made a brilliantly modernized and dark story that could have topped the rest easily. The segment in which you cut down the man begging for his life should have set the tone for the rest of the game, yet sadly, it didn’t.
And don’t even get me started on the damn arm… In fact, the only gameplay aspect it seemed to serve was being an inconvenience. Why the fuck did I have to slow down in the middle of combat in almost every level (sometimes more than once) just so he could hold his arm in pain? Was there really any point to that? No.
Aside from all of that though, I did however like it enough to pick up NG2 and I’m actually playing through that as we speak.
But then, we have the bad…and boy is there lots of it. Let’s start with the elephant in the room…this game is not challenging. It seems like NT tried to take away the focus on optimizing combos, learning from your mistakes and prevailing after numerous failure and rather replaced all of that by dumbing down the enemies and just throwing in MORE enemies at a time. The parts that actually were challenging weren’t hard because my skill was lacking, but rather that I was just getting unavoidably gangbanged by 30 people with arrows on one side of the stage and 30 monsters that don’t have hitstun on the other. And despite the unrelenting repetitiveness and lack of diversity between the enemies, I still found myself in a few situations where I’d just get pooped on through no fault of my own. There wasn’t any learning involved, it was just “Enter room. Cut down anything that moves. Walk slowly due to arm pain. Rinse and Repeat”.
And how in god’s name did they think it would be a good idea to just give the player ONE weapon the entire game? By the second chapter in NG2 I already had aquired 3 new weapons. They even add insult to injury by giving you new swords, but they do literally NOTHING different than the one you had before. Whoever came up with that idea needs to lose their job.
Meh, I don’t even know…I want to like it so bad, but yet there’s so much wrong with it. However it looks like Razor’s Edge might fix all of that, so I’m still staying optimistic. If it does happen to make the game better, I’ll be picking it up day one. Because this game has potential, it just wasn’t executed well.
Is Razor’s Edge coming to Xbox/PS3? If so, when? Will it be a download or a separate game entirely?
Whoa whoa, so does Razor’s Edge fix everything? If so, do want.
It’s supposed to remove QTE’s, make enemy AI better, add dismemberment back in, new characters, new costumes, all the DLC for free, and I think it might be adding in some new bosses and shit. So…yeah, I’m right there with ya’.
…Fucking 2013.
What about it?
