Next Fighting Game Capcom should Release?

agreed^

I’m not going to play another fighting game from Capcom until Ono and Niitsuma stop producing games.

You guys are talking like they are the big part of the problem.

No.

The biggest part of the problem are the shitty ass programmers. Capcom always had shitty ideas for fighting games but you know what? At least those games had a good base game to build upon before the broken stuff gets found, and you know what? Those games were still fun after all of that crap was found becuase the base game was still good.

MvC2 was a broken mess. You know what made it worth it? The fact that the game was fun? The fact that at least the programmers input some sort of damage control in the engine, unlike MvC3/U? I didn’t die becuase someone knocked me into the ground from the air in MvC2, whereas in MvC3, all i have to do is do that, and pop an X Factor to otg, DEATH. No effort required.

SF4 had an extremely shitty base game due to poor decisions from the programmers and from Ono in general.

I don’t CARE if Ono stays on the SF team forever. If Capcom can’t hire better programmers to make their games, then they will be shitty regardless of whether Ono decides to stay or quit tomorrow. And the poor as priorities they have at Capcom are some of the worst i have ever seen. I mean making money is important, but fuck have SOME integrity.SFxT is a fucking cashgrab made to squeeze every last penny they can get out of you, on TOP of that they did little to no testing with that game. The damage is nonexistent, and becuase of the shitty damage, the timer rarely lets games finish before it hits the 20 second mark, unless you are getting destroyed. Fast timer, no damage, slow walkspeeds, long cinematics? Looks good to me!! It took them fucking years to finally get a good netcode. Don’t even get me started on who the fuck got hired to do those ugly ass models with that ugly ass art style.

Ono is the least of our problems. Those business suits and those shitty teams are whats killing Capcom’s fighting game franchises. They ALL fucking SUCK. There is no saving them either, they need to crash and burn to finally understand, which is sad.

Honestly, I don’t want Capcom making any more fighters until they seriously re-evaluate everything they’ve been putting out withing the last few years. No more badly programmed games, no more ugly models as opposed to sprites, no more cheesy comeback mechanics, adding tutorials that actually teach people how to play the games, making the games complete as a whole, etc. The way I see it, Capcom needs to do a complete overhaul of the way they design fighters.

new Power Stone please. Capcom, if you made a party mode for SFxT, why not just work on a full blown party game for everyone to enjoy.

Get the rights to eternal champions and release a new version of that.

lol what why are you sure about this? esp after hdr…

Also, this never happened. Most of the team didn’t leave till around 2004 the same team went to work on Jojo’s, A3, CvS1, CvS2, and MvC2, hell the producer helped on animation for the street fighter ex series. When most of them left Capcom they formed Crafts & Meister or got jobs at Arika or in animation.

There seems to be a lot of misinformation surrounding the DS series. Where did the myth of VSav team leaving to form Aksys come from, in that case?

Programmers are usually put on strict time constraints. Most of the time, it’s not really a matter of them being “awful” ones. They have to create numerous tools (model parser, 2D sprite/text renderer, etc) and make it functional while doing it. This usually prevents them from going full-out creatively on the mechanics.

Anyway, the complaints should be directed at the designer, don’t they suggest mechanics like xfactor? I can see their reason for choosing that mechanic, despite how annoying it was, it’s easier to program and it’s a simple command to learn for new players.

I’m guessing people saw certain similarities between Darkstalkers and Guilty Gear/Blazblue and assumed the same people worked on them. But yeah, it isn’t true as far as I know. Also not all the same people even worked on all the Darkstalkers games. I think Junichi Ohno (main planner of the first two) left Capocm before they started working on Savior.

BTW, if you can read Japanese and are interested in reading about video game staff members, this Wiki is a great resource. Lots of info there, even descriptions of which animators worked on which characters and such.

As much as I desire a Rival Schools sequel, I think I would prefer a CVS3 (Not a fucking SFvsKoF, thank you very much).

Someone said it before, lots of people claim to be diehard DS fans and that the DS games are the best fighting games ever, yet the GGPO queue of that game is always empty. So many (but obviously not all) of these guys are pretty much hipsters who never played the DS games but claim to be experts in them. It’s just like how people claim Iceman was considered top tier at the start of MvC2, another equally ridiculous misinformation.

Something completely new so as to save faithful fans of existing series the disappointment.

Programmers aren’t the ones deciding anything about the game. they’re just that, programmers doing their job.
Theyre just the paintbrush tool in the final art.

You should be pointing fingers at the ones who decide the bad game mechanics.
(long cinematics, jabjab safejump OS, mashable DPs, XFactor…)

Oh and of corse the Capcom pen pushers that made SFxT a DLC milk machine instead of polishing up the gameplay.
lol jab jab jab jab jab longass cinematic, time out x 1000? Did they even playtest this shit? Oh wait they don’t have any intention of making a good fighting game, forgot.

Capcom should make MvC3 next

your sig ahaha I love you

also, MvC1 is a terrible game

How about they make something where I won’t buy it then sell it back after one month? Ya know, the opposite of xtimeouts. The game got me hella depressed with how much it disappointed me. Just make a game where I pick it up on launch am I’m like “damn, this is exactly what the trailers made me want an get hyped for and I’m glad to own it.”

Tell Capcom to make Powerstone or Rival Schools next. Capcom might forget about Darkstalkers for another fifteen years if we get lucky. SNK probably doesn’t want Capcom to touch their series after SFxT either.

Pocket Fighter 2. Just as wacky, but balanced for competitive play.
