Complete noob here…any can give me sum tips on what a beginner shud be learning…any advice is much appreciated
Ricekid1, it depends what u do before de LA, but the easiest is… magic series, LA, Super move, just wait until ur enemie fall for 1 second, until storm’s feet, then DHC, it never miss… lol
I just want to know storm’s bnb and how to do that crazy air combo . I tried to cancel out of LA and nothing happened.
What direction should u do the LA after magic series, I usually do uf uf or does it really matter? Also I’m trying to get tri jumo in head so u use lk during tri jump kinda like mag?
For the LA, do it neutral its the easiest, u must know that if u just do one LA, direction doesn’t matter, and yeah, do lk kinda like mag, its a fast overhead.
I’m having trouble comboing out of the ADDF lk. I’m trying to do ADDF lk then c.lk s.mk s.hk super jump xx combo. Should the lk be aimed like below the waist? I can get the lk to hit but I rarely have the stuff connnect, maybe I should just try doing the c.lk quicker? Storm is so sick I just need to get better with opening opponents up with assists and using the high/low mixups she has, I have her BnBs into sent DHC down, but I feel she is definitely my worst character even though I start out with her (Storm, Sent, Cable).
Just input a lil faster the c.lk, also u can practice addf hk, it gives more hit stun.
Ok I got another question, when u finish someone with storm and the opponent’s next char is about to pop out does she have an unblock like Cable’s j.FP -> AHVB or Mag and his unblock -> ROM thingy? Thank you for all your help up till now FaRS13.
Well, it’s not exactly an unblockable, its a guard break, however, i only only know about 3 storm’ s guard breaks, first, the easiest, standing.LA, yeah, just wait a second and input LA, when the the next char is coming, or waking, this one its useful because will work if u only know how to time it, the second one its a crossover, just input s.HP, believe me, it works, if u r in the corner u can combo into s.hk (launch) and then whatever, and the most effective is sj.lk, ADF (they lost guard), adf.lk, mk, LA, cancel into super, this is unescapable, does’nt matter if they push block or if they take the first sj.lk. hope it helps, and u r welcome.
the first 2 you mentioned are crossovers/possibly sometimes unblockables. you’d be better off timing a super jump LA…that way you can combo into another LA/super
the guardbreaks I use in addition to the crossovers are the sj adf LK wait LK MK and a great one is sj.FK addf hold up, lk mk la ls
you can also try sj.lk, add, hold up, lk / launch
kinda stupid but it works. if they push block its still free launch. opponent can escape. its just fun if you have an assist behind you because instead of a launch you can do some jumping+assist combo.
ALso something else stupid. If you land a s.hp on a normal sized character, its free LA unblockable/crossup right after. You just have to get the HP to hit right as they’re falling. Kind of like how you do it on sentinel. Then you just immediately LA and it will hit otherside/unblockable. I use to try and get this down consistently after PSY combos but it was too difficult to get consistent.
Also, if you have an assist, sometimes its better not to even guard break. Keep them guessing.
examples:
Call drones, sj.hk, addf, hk / drones make contact. then free float/high/low mixup you have right there.
or
call drones, tri jump whiff (cross up under falling opponent), then IMMEDIATELY tj.lp (crossing up back to original side), and then drones will hit. gotta do this one fast. make it a 50/50 and instead of doing the second crossup, next time you can just go low.
The storm guard break I use is sj.lk, air dash forward, lk,mk,LA,LA, super into DHC drones, launch blah blah.

I can do the infinite on standing Sent, but after two or three reps he’s too far away. Any idea what I’m doing wrong?

What are some ways you can initiate the infinite? When the fuck is Sentinal going to be standing.
^I’ve never had the problem so not sure. seeing might help. are you jumping up forward?
jump up forward and then quickly go to downforward + lk, mk, hp, hk. you put a little more pause between hp/hk. you can replace lk, mk with lp, mp (as long as holding down forward). you can replace a rep with fj HP, delay, FK
you get it through punishing HSFs that you manage to get out of (or other general mistakes from sent). or mixups (either a reset or when they’re coming in)
for example, one I did yesterday, stLP+psylock, st.MP, psy hits, triangle jump forward lk, up+mp (crosses under), super jump adf (crossed back to original side) hp, hk, land, dash, infinite
also you can dash before each rep of the infinite. but if you do it will crossover so you would start the next rep in the opposite direction. you can go back and forth if you want lol. or if your back is closer to the corner you can combo the crossover to get sent to the corner (you always gotta think of the cheapest/best situation as long as you can execute it. I do the same with ironman a lot. and dhalsim now. combos that manually switch sides ftw)
I usually use Storm/Iron Man/ BB Hood team
