There is a reason why eBay took away the seller’s option to leave negative feedback. It made buyers more hesitant to leave any feedback fearing retaliation.
Part 1 - If you package well enough, there shouldn’t be any damages the way it came. So either it was already damage & he’s trying to blame the post office or did a bad job in packaging it. I believe as a seller/buyer its the sellers responsibility to always package their shit good enough, cuz as a buyer i always want whats advertise. If for some reason it gets damage, i would do everything to make it right for the buyer.
Here’s what happen in detail:
I ordered a stick case from Jeenyus1 for $40 shipped. He also had a orange balltop he was selling for $10 shipped. I asked if he would combine & said yes, making it $45 shipped in total. It took 2 weeks to arrive which understandable cuz he’s from Canada.
I ended up receiving the case damaged on the corner sides i provided pics for him. He informs me that he will contact Canadian Post as there was insurance. He told me they will contact me within 10 business days. Well 2 weeks past & i never heard nothing from them. note Paypal claim is now over. I pm him back to do a follow up & get reply of him saying yeah he called Canadian Post & they called him back.
Jeenyus1 offered $43.39 refund or he will refund me cost of shipping it to me $11 CAD.
I chose full refund & I asked if he will pay for return shipping & got a reply back from him saying he made a mistake & that he can only refund me $33.39 because i wanted to keep the balltop. Yes $10 for a balltop! I was like well nevermind i’ll just return both of them to get my full refund, but i needed to know if he will cover any of the shipping.
Jeenyus replies back saying he cant accept the balltop back & that i will have to pay for the return shipping in full. So, if i was to mail the damage case back to him it would cost me $19 - $10 = me having a $29 used orange balltop.
So i was like fuck that, i might as well keep the case. He ended up refunding me $11 CAD, “the cost of shipping” Yet the box shows $17.85
Well that’s the whole story, i can see people going his way or mine. Im just going by what i would have done if i was him. As a seller if im responsible for the poor packaging then i’ll do what it takes to make things right.
So as a buyer, this was a bad experience, so i gave him a negative feedback. He retaliates & gives me negative feedback. So i get stuck with a damage case & negative feedback.
Part 2 (different guy)
I paid $11.95 for the guy to ship 6 dvds. Im assuming he used a flat rate priority. The thing is i sent a pm asking if he shipped or not & i see that he logged on but i didn’t get a reply. That’s what bothers me more then actually receiving an item late. I dont know if he deserves negative feedback, i’ll probably not give feedback at all just cuz i dont want another negative feedback in return.
rcaido they are still looking into the situation, mods cannot edit itrader feedback I believe - so it’s outta our hands to fix. Only admin can edit such a feature, we are forced to wait to see if one agrees to your terms.
For 09ers:
Just to clarify something about the selling rule, when you have to wait 6 months, you have to actually have 6 months to pass you by. So in example if you joined in say Jan 1, 2009, it doesn’t complete at June 1, 2009. Your 6 month starts on June 1, 2009. You have to have a full/complete 6 month period to sell.
Update on Part 2 -
Just when i was talking about it & lo behold my dvds arrived today. So, here’s a situation about feedback again. I asked the user why shipping was so expensive for 6 dvds $11.95. Told me the disc Akira Tin is quite heavy, so i agreed to his shipping cost. Well i receive the box today & dude shipped it out media mail & cost him only $3.96 to ship. How do i respond to this? Do i give positive cuz it arrived? Neutral, negative?
People may think im bitching or have a sandy vagina…Maybe, but enough is enough, i’ve had it with these monkey fighting sellers on this Monday Friday forum.
There are a lot off cool peeps in SRK but damn the Trading outlet isn’t on par w/ rest of SRK. Its like hit or miss. I’ve encounter several transaction already where i lose out on money, really slow, or damage items…I’ve never experience this stuff in the 10 years on ebay or places like Amazon, Cheapassgamers, etc…
Well man you agreed to the shipping charges, there’s no rules dictating how long he should take to get it out to you or what type of shipping he’s supposed to use other than what he advertises or what you ask for.
Same as those people on ebay who sell things for $1 and then $50 shipping
There’s no rule? So your telling me you dont mind if some dude ships some shit out to you weeks with no communication? If you pay someone you should ship it at least within 1 to 3 days & if you cant do it, have some communication.
His listing was $70 for 6 DVDs + shipping. I asked him how much is the shipping for the 6 dvds. He tells me that the post office website said $11.95 That’s for flat rate priority mail. If its like $1 or $2, that’s no biggy. But man that’s like triple the amount of the said shipping plus he shipped it out media mail which takes forever.
Now say his listing was $85 shipped then yeah i have no problems with him shipping it to me however he wanted… but his price was for $70 + shipping, so im actually paying for the shipping that i paid for & expect him to use it? Am i wrong? must be that time of the month for me :wasted:
Oh I’d be ****ing up a storm, I was just trying my best to be devil’s advocate.
The thing is, if you didn’t specifically confirm the shipping method beforehand, like he said “Yes I’ll ship priority” then you really can’t blame someone for charging too much on shipping, since all that was agreed upon was that he would ship it to you for that cost, which he may have considered to cover the entire process (including him taking the time to find a box, pack it, make a label/write info on it, drive to a post office, pay for postage, and drive back home.)
Personally, I would be pretty peeved if this happened to me, though I can see where this is more of a lack of communication issue on both parties part than him trying to rip you off.
what would bother me the most is the lack of communication and the media mail. media mail takes a longggg fucking time. everytime someone sends me media mail it always takes 2 weeks and on top of that media mail is the last item to get on so it’s the item that gets kicked around the most. i’d say 80% of my stuff through media mail has some kind of damage or i straight up see foot prints on it too.
i would give him a chance and ask for the rest of the extra shipping back to you because that’s fucking annoying. you dont pay 12 dollars shipping to take 2 weeks then get media mailed.
can 09ers give stuff away and just ask for the shipping? or is that considered trading? not the $15 shipping you guys are talking right now though. hmmm bad time to ask/post this.
Thanks for the clarification, I wasn’t sure if I could sell yet and my suspicions were correct =)
I don’t understand. You say they can start June 1, but isn’t complete til June 1. Did you mean start selling July 1?
I believe he means that its the 6th month of your membership, but you havent been there 6 months.
thats not fair so its not 6 months u have to wait but its one year.
You’re still misunderstanding sir. You have to have been a member 6 complete months. What he is saying is that on month 6, you have only been a member for 5 complete months. It is not until the beginning of month 7 that you have been a member for 6 complete months and can then start selling, provided you have met the 50 post minimum as well. Does that clear things up?
The start of July 1st would mean that the user would have waited a complete 6 months if they joined January 1st. If they joined Jan 1st and began selling June 1st, they’d only waited 5 complete months since June 1st is the start of another month.
A year is 12 months. How did you come up with that conclusion? You doubled the months you have to wait.
I personally don’t think it’s that confusing, if a new month starts you wouldn’t count that entire month. Why would you? It started, not ended.
Quick question
I was wondering if I’m grandfathered in to the trading outlet.
I registered in 2007 and sold something here in late 2008. I got a feedback thread (before the switch to iTrader) and everything. However, I only have 10 posts (according to my profile). I’m guess I’m quiet :).
Am I still eligible to sell in the trading outlet or does my low post count disqualify me despite having sold before and having been a member since 2007?
Thanks.
Fir, it did sound like you were implying that they need to be here a year. Just a little unclear is all.
I have to side with you man. He quoted you a price for shipping, which we all know was for priority. It’s not ok to tell someone a higher shipping price and then send the cheapest way possible to pocket some money. It’s not right, the seller didn’t say $70 + shipping & handling. The guy deserves negative feedback for not being truthful and lack of communication so future buyers can be aware. Retaliation feedback is going to be a problem.
Sorry, again it’s just for 6 months. Waiting an entire year would be kinda absurd, that was something I definitely wasn’t trying to imply.
