still the game is 100% 2D unlike SFIV
A new trend among companies nowadays is that theyâre making fighting games. =0
I would like a SF ALPHA 3 VS SF III 3RD Strike HD REMIX
Gameplay of SFIII with allot of the characters from the ALPHA series mixed in.
Love the Final Fight characters.

I hope Arcsys and Capcom read this post. You can learn from this guy.

Dont think they gonna go back anymore to 2D. 2,5D brings them more money in the house.
fixed, Sammy doesnt have anything to do about the BB franchise, they only published 2 GG games, but they didnt developed them, Sammy is only a publisher
^^Wow. My bad, completely forgot about ASW. Iâll go edit that, thanks.
That may be the case, but it doesnât take away the fact that it looks loving amazing! Iâm pretty sure they put more work into these than SFIVâs.

I think one HD Remix was enough. As much as the concept is novel, âremixedâ games are technically not ânew.â
I donât think thereâs anything wrong with having attachment to CVS2, MVC2, 3S, Vampire, etc. but I think it becomes a problem when they deter people from trying out new options. Thatâs basically what made the U.S. scene stuck in year 2002 for good five years or so.
People should always be actively exploring new games that are offered in their ways, in my opinion.
This is goddamn right. Folks get waay to hung up sometimes. Especially on the whole 2D vs 3D thing.
I feel you, I want to try new stuff all the time. But thereâs a lot of classics thatâll feel ânewâ when you add online play. Itâs hard enough for some of us that donât have good competition close by. With just the examples of HDR and SFIV, I think thereâs ample market for both to make the genre grow faster.
This, sir, is a slippery slope.
I was out with my best friends and girlfriend (at the time) several years ago at a bar here in Chicago. I actually got the bright idea to place my asscheeks directly ON my girlfriend before farting.
I didnât hear the end of that for the better portion of a year.
Also, one of my friends has a theory that male farts turn women into lesbians. It hasnât been proven, yet, but itâs something to be wary of.
my god, yeah, its true, men farts turn women into lesbian, i would release the detailed study the next week so stay tuned
I like where this is going
Iâve gotta admit, I might be âhung upâ on 2d vs. 3d. I just canât play 3d games with any interest! That being said there are a few games in the 3d genre coming up I may have to try. Dissidia: Final Fantasy looks awesome. Dissidia also fits into the whole ânew directionâ for fighting games imho. I might try T6 when it comes out, but Iâm not going to buy it until I know I like it⌠I didnât like T5.
For 2d vs. 2.5d the truth is there is no difference. The choice is merely an artistic one. It has no effect on gameplay. With SFIV being the top 2.5d fighter as of now, people may begin to associate clunky gameplay with 2.5d graphics. This is a failure in logic which is quite common.
Isnât 2.5D easier to do?
I like 2.5d personally Iâve never understood why some people are so die hard 2d to the exclusion of everything else. Iâm not sure I like the art direction of sfIV but I tend not to notice it too much while playing the game.
2.5d sucks, long live 2d
Remember to look into the bigger picture of things; that while not fighting games, Capcom has made other strong IPs along the way(Resident Evil, Megaman, Devil May Cry, etc.). It allowed them to take a more risky approach to appeal to the modern day casual gamer by turning the main Street Fighter series 3D, graphic wise(and as stated earlier, still retain its 2D gameplay). Because if SF4 had bombed for some reason, theyâ could just try to sweep it under the rug and stick with their popular non-fighting game IPs.
As oppose to SNK and Arc System Works, whose success lies in their fighting game IPs; if KOFXII or BB fails for whatever reason, it would be a devastating blow to them. Thus, they probably will continue to cater to their smaller audience just because its safer and it has been working for them thus far. But still, it will be interesting to see what SNK and Arc System Works do after this seeing how well SF4 has been received by a much wider audienceâŚ
