Tekken crash is the business!
Good idea. We need to go take every game. I’m down to go and chip in.
@Hiryu- whats Brinsons?
@ Lycon- Are you still trying to do the workouts. Cause I come out that area to powerlift so it won’t be a problem if I stopped by
We’re trying to get two full cars out there. Right now we’re looking at 6.
Damn, I forgot to get back to you, my bad … There’s no way man. I really want to, but I have to finish moving this weekend.
It’s a bar/grill/club downtown that hosts fight nights on fridays.
Who wants to play guilty gear tonight!?!?! I DO!
Kinda late here but
Dax: I know how it feels to be put in the corner and not able to get out, the corner can be a death trap in KoF especially against characters with safe pressure like the ones I use. Mainly what I see is you need to be a bit more active in your footsies/hops/spacing etc in midscreen so you don’t get to the corner in the first place. With Kula for example you want to annoy people with st.B, throw out safe tatsus/ice breaths (I think they’re safe at the right distance?) and do the hop ice spike thing. That will control space, push/annoy your opponent and make it harder to get blown back across the screen. I feel in some ways in this game the proper defense is to counter with your own offense unlike in SF. Keep playing you’re getting there.
Josh: Play Kyo! It was scaring me a bit lol.
Everyone else: GGs.
I’ll show u at MBB
I was playing with that in training mode, only way I could punish Kula’s ice breath with Clark was to guard cancel roll and grip her, which is pretty hard to do unless the Kula player is doing a really predictable blockstring and it takes a bar.
Anyone else going to RCR this weekend?
So Martin and I should be up at gg again Tuesday, if I bring a copy of guilty gear would anyone want to play it? I also want to bring the original on psx just to have retarded fun. Does the arcade have a backwards compatible ps3?
Lycan, the SBO 2010 and MWC 2011 had numbers as good or better than KiT as far as overall turnout and players that came…we didn’t have nobodies here (DSP, Damdai TWICE just to name a couple…) but I think the fact that Sanford came to KiT is what is being looked at…
I have to say though, most of the guys you have mentioned have a hell of a lot of attitude going on…and it’s well known…I have had zero issues with Valle and Justin probably just because I’ve known them for so long and we’ve been in the same tournaments for years…Flash is Flash, I’ll leave it at that, lol…Sanford…now I’ve known him since he was 17, he had to stay with me when he came out to Cali with Ricky Ortiz for a tournament…I’m not going in to details here on people I’ve known over the years but everyone on that list can be said to have “slighted” someone…
MWC and SBO did really well, we had a freaking Japanese qualifier here TWICE and the numbers were good for the other games, we just didn’t have 200+ people…Both tourneys had 120-130 different players…
We do not. We don’t even have a PS2 either.
I’ll play Guilty Gear Accent Core if you bring it but I don’t know what I am doing so have fun with that.
Trust me. If you throw $5000 guaranteed pots the players will come themselves. There is no way you can let players dictate the tournaments. They did that last year at one of the EVO qualifiers (run by a newer TO) and don’t even start on Marn leaving brackets in the middle of a tournament unfinished.
If a player feels the need to be “catered” to like a primadonna we just aren’t having that. It’s not worth our time and effort because there isn’t enough money in the world to make me put up with all the drama from people like that…
I know for certain from experience if you have crazy pots the players will come but this day and age you need $3000-5000 guaranteed pots…I guarantee you if we had a $5000 first place SFAE prize we’d have 10 of the top players here for that tournament.
Also, per “playing people for money again” it’s really about how the scene is viewed as a whole. I rarely get the “play me for money” thing because honestly I just don’t see the point…I don’t care for $20 first to 5, etc…in order to get me to REALLY play for money, it has to be a lot because if the point is brought up in the first place (which it really shouldn’t since it’s all casuals unless you REALLY have something to prove to yourself) then whoever wants to play for me needs to fork up the cash if they are that confident because you can test your skills fine without playing for money, I just see it as unnecessary.
I’ve had issues with MK2 people playing, so I brought up $500 first to 10 to the shittalkers. They actually took me up on it and of course I didn’t get paid. Happened again from a Philly player, they didn’t want to play/pay after the matches. Same goes for ANYTHING Nikos says in Alabama, lol…I think he always wants to play for money and even if he names the games you can up the ante to the point where they WON’T PLAY unless it’s something super certain that I don’t play like Tekken or MK9 but anyway, went off on tangent…
The point is we don’t have a community like others in Middle Tennessee. It’s hype, but not disrespectful. Money can be a good thing and a bad thing in terms of matches and it can help “grow” certain players but others it can be a detriment. The joke has always been to put me in a corner and have people play me for money in AE or old games at majors just to troll people but even then I still shake my head at it all, I just want to play and press buttons, lol
So who’s playing Gear with me at Brinson’s tonight?
I’m just glad TN doesn’t have “your free” syndrome outside of Gdbell posts everyone ignores. I swear every other scene I’ve been to has these spectator players that aren’t good in any way just yelling that shit in support of their random ass hometown boy.
At least our hype people like Jose aren’t biased like if one of us is playing Marvel and we’re sucking it up you better believe we know.
Blame the streams and commentators on some of that stuff, they make it almost the “norm” for that to be the case.
neoblood: I spoke too soon, someone just walked in and sold us a Slim PS2, so we have one for Tuesday, lol
On the 19th, would there be space for a ps3/tv setup? I know you guys are doing your tournament thing. There’s a guy or two, that I might be meeting up with from Humphrey’s county for SCV.
I hear it’s amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm, in flap-jaw space, with the tuning fork
, does a raw blink on Hiri-Kiri rock
! I need scissors! 61!
Ooohhh, SCV eh???
@Abe- GG Last night. You def gave me some Marduk knowledge. We need to play again sometime.
@Everyone else- If you are interested in Tag 2 or playing Tek 6 right now you should watch this.
