Hold on, kinda nitpicking here, but XIII still doesn’t have round win poses? Or are all the players in the vids I’m seeing just skipping them? Would be kind of a shame, SNK has always had some great win poses in their flagship titles.
It does, along with a few unique ones for certain matchups.
Okie, I’m headed to 'Bama. To everyone who’s going – see you tomorrow!
So no games tonight eh? Welp looks like another night of uncharted 2 for me then.
Lol, need someone to make me an avatar of all of this guy’s expressions rapidly flashing.

Hahahahahahahahaa
Aww damn dude. Man you GOTTA post up if you are coming to Game Galaxy. If you are coming from far away, I would make sure you get a response here before you make the drive. Dream works Tues / Thurs and that’s usually when we are up there. I am there every single Tuesday unless something comes up, in which case I’ll let peeps know here.
Crew will be there. I usually don’t come out Wednesdays but I’ll be there both days. Don’t know about others though. Are you going to be at the tournament on the 17th?
So. Many. FUCKING. MULLETS. Also looks of absolute horror, disgust, confusion…
I don’t think I’m gonna do any AE online tonight. Don’t want to mess with my offline timing for tomorrow. What I may do is hop on KoF online later if anyone is down for some games. Not as worried about that as I am still learning the game.
Fuck yes. one of the best movies of the year IMO
So yeah, I tried out Soulcalibur V and TTT2 last weekend. It was soooo fun and so packed in that Namco room at NEC. Astaroth is a blast still, Ezio is pretty okay-fun, and Pyrrha is bossssss. At least in that build. I spammed the crap out of 1A,As and 1K. I hated Sophitia in the previous games, but it looks like I’ll be a next gen Sophie player in SCV. Also, Tekken, sweet jeebus, you are shiny, but SCV, you are shinies too. O= God, I can’t wait until Winter Brawl!
This is great to hear. From what I’ve seen, he looks just as solid as ever.
This is just soooo wrong on so many levels!! LOLOLOLOLOL!!!
On another note. I had an interesting conversation with a guy named Travis that works at Best Buy. I was buying Josh a LoL riot card and we got to talking about games which transitioned into fighting games. Well he said that he is involved in putting on one of the biggest anime conventions in the South, which will be from July 13-15 2012. They are going to be running tournaments for SSF4 (version: whatever the hell will be out in July of 2012), UMvC3, Blazblue and I am not sure what else. They have rented the Sevierville Event Center, which is HUGE! Stephanie used to have cheerleading competitions there. They have also booked rooms at the Wilderness hotel for the weekend. I told him I would post on here (I think he said he comes to SRK but I have no clue what his username is) and he invited everyone to join their facebook group. Here is the link https://www.facebook.com/groups/165511420210668/ and their page is https://www.facebook.com/pages/Anime-SouthEast/283487695024928. Should be a pretty big convention and a potentially big tournament. Help spread the word to everyone and maybe we can help it to be even bigger. How often do you all get to compete in more local tournaments outside of Jason’s?
Last but not least thanks to Thomas, Josh has now entered into the realm of WoW. Oh good lord!!! facepalm

Did some training mode at home for AE and KoF. Ended up jumping online just for a bit and got literally a couple games in with Cosby and a Dan player in his lobby then dipped. Feeling pretty good.
I did wanna say to Tripp and Shawn - I tried that button holding buffer whatever you wanna call it thing and I think I finally get it. Simplest example was this:
Shen’s rush punch (qcf+p) is super canceleable. Before, I found myself trying to time the 2nd qcf to super cancel like an SF cancel, doing it as I see the punch hit, then canceling it for the super. I could hit it but not with consistency.
Now what I do is, qcf+P for rush punch, then another qcf+P and HOLD P for super and it comes out every time. This is cool as shit. Gonna see where else I can apply it.
I definitely look forward to playing you sometime, whether it’s online or… somewheres, idk. I’m so hyped for this game, squeeeeee~
As a former hardcore WoW player myself, listen to me:
Get him off that shit.
He’s using hypnosis!!!

GGs to Marcus, Rell, Tommy, Josh, Herb, and co. in KANG.
Guard point. Clark, Raiden, and Maxima have it in various ways. GP in KOF takes zero damage, but I don’t know if it counts for guard damage.
That’s rough bro. I know how you feel. I’m a huge animal lover, and got teased in school because I had cats and my friends had pitts. But yea, it’s just like losing a member of your fam, especially since that cat obviously grew up with you. I think you all prob made the right decision. Some people are divided on that, but I couldn’t bare to see them suffer either.
LMAO. Hahaha. Her heart just has to be pure and devoid of any structured technologicals. Whichever way the wind blows, the fatman goes…
Sigh…that’s the downside to this game. There are winposes between rounds, but the game has to wait a moment, say WINNER, and then zoom in before the chara does the pose. Everybody would’ve already pressed start 2 minutes ago. So you see winposes in this game if both people check their phones between rounds.
Worse than that though, there are no intros! Intros are what made KoF! That’s pretty disheartening seeing as how epic and cool nearly all of them were. Camera panning past stage, chara names, country you’re in, street you’re on, time of day, etc. PLUS the individual intros. Yea man it makes me sad reminiscing on those.
You sure? I know some characters have 2 winposes and Yuri and King have the “fanservice losses”, one for when they lose to a crumple and one for a hard hit. But I haven’t came across any unique winposes. If Kyo and Iori don’t have one fighting each other, then it’s safe to say NO ONE does lol. But I actually hope I’m wrong though.
Aw hell yea. That’s the only way I can get super in combos or off hit-confirms. Too lazy to do it any other way. Buffers in this game are super good for that kinda stuff, but then hurt you in other ways. Now the downside to this particular one comes in his HD combos.
Because when you do the qcf+D, qcf+C, it’s very easy to have the second qcf register as buffer for the super, especially ending in C. Then common sense tells you to do it slower, but then you won’t get the HD cancels at all. So it’s a special rhythm you gotta get when doing them. I’ve only done this combo twice in my life, and it’s hailed as probably the easiest HD combo in the game.
After dropping Shen as a main, I can see how easy and damaging he is. But not being able to do that qcf+D, qcf+C loop makes me feel like a bitch.
Well it is to late now. It has already been purchased. It surely isn’t any worse that LoL??? He plays that more than he plays fgs.
Oh and I am really sorry about your cat. My cat is my baby so I know how I would feel.
Mike - that’s good to know. I haven’t graduated to HD combos with him just yet. Still getting my BnBs and blockstrings hammered out. I might try double tapping like SF (OG method, not that slick ass middle to index finger roll) to ensure I don’t get that cancel like you described. It makes sense on paper as the frame isn’t getting repeated like it is for a button hold.
Unrelated, just gonna leave this here:
I can’t get through a day of my life without listening to that shit.
If he stays on the WoW path, we are going to lose a killer Rufus player.
Take it from someone who lost an apartment, a job, a girlfriend, and my whole life to that digital world for 3 years when it first came out.
Put limits on it.
Hey guys! I’m Travis, the guy that talked with Crystal earlier today about that tournament/convention that’s coming up. Firstly, I’ve gotta say, WOW - I wasn’t expecting so much interest so quickly, so thank you guys so much for actually checking us out!
Secondly, she’s right - I do plan on hopefully having a large fighting game tournament scene there, with all those games plus SSBM/SSBB (both most likely, I dunno how lively their competitive scenes are anymore though…) and whatever else you guys think would gel well there. I know a lot of you are experienced tournament runners, and me, well, let’s face it - the most I’ve played in terms of Street Fighter or MVC is “ooh press the buttons and kill the guy”. (I used to play Soul Calibur II in a few casual tournaments, but never anything serious in terms of standard fighters - I’m more a Smash Bros. guy) That said, any help you guys are willing to give will be greatly appreciated, as I want this to be by the community for the community - our gift to the gamers at the con. =D
And on that note, I definitely plan to stick around - you guys seem like a great group, and any game with this kind of community has to be awesome - who knows? Maybe you guys will make a competitive fighter out of me yet. XD
(PS - I am SO sorry I told you about that sale on WoW Blizzard was having. KinetiK is right, there really is no stopping it once the addiction takes hold - best of luck to you through that.)
