Do you even understand what is happening in that setup? If he does it correctly, you CANNOT crouch it. That’s the whole point. He sets it up so that meaty hooligan catches you during the 1-2 frames during your wakeup that you are considered standing. Every character has a single point during their wakeup where the game considers them to be standing, EVEN if they are holding down. It is during these times that moves like Hooligan and Hakan’s DDT will catch you, regardless of what direction you are holding.
If he does it frame perfect, you can’t stop it short of a frame perfect invincible move or supposedly a cr 3 frame jab.
Here, test it. Pick Hakan and Cody in training mode. Set the CPU Cody to crouch, then sweep him, and try to nail him with Hakan’s DDT as he gets up. If you can figure out the timing, you can actually scoop Cody off the ground as he gets up, even though its set to always crouch. You could probably youtube this shit, and see exactly why can’t “just crouch”. Derp?

Does anyone know of any good assists to set up my grabs with super skull? Also any tactics to build an offense against characters who fly? (mainly magneto >_<) I been having problems keeping people grounded long enough so i can actually work lol!
Assists that leave the opponent in long blockstun and/or keep Skrull safe for a second or two. Hidden Missiles work great, because you can command grab people while they’re attempting to block the incoming missiles. Likewise, Doom’s Molecular Shield travels slow enough to grab them before it hits. MODOK’s barrier assist gives you a free command grab attempt (unless the opponent wastes a super). Any beam assist will work too.
I’ve used hidden missles before and it worked to some extent. Because of the delay for them to come down sometimes leaves me vulnerable to rushdown. Dark hole assist works but its very position dependant. I also tried sentinel drones too.
Re: Meaty Hooligan: I think her most common setup is after a dp if you tech the knockdown (quick stand), it is timed perfectly for her meaty hooligan throw. Best thing to do is simply not quick stand after getting hit by her cannon spike.
Otherwise, yes, you need some kind of invincible anti-air/escape (teleport) to defeat meaty hooligan I think.
