New Tennessee Thread: Put the Ball in the Hole

I hope some assholes from Hunstville AL don’t come and win.

they won’t AL is free

I like that you capitalize AL and use apostrophes, but lack proper capitalization/grammar in nearly every other area. It’s completely random.

Edit: Forgot to mention why I was originally going to post.

To AVOID the epic fail that was Steak & Shake last time, does anyone know where we could get all of the following in the immediate vicinity of the tournament:

Good food
Good drinks
Enough room for a bunch of loud people
Stays open late enough for it to be worth going.

I was gonna suggest a Japanese restaurant because they usually have plenty of room, good food, and at least some alcohol. Only problem is only place I know of in Southaven is Nagoya and it closes at 10:30 on Saturdays (lol Bible Belt). Though I wonder if they would stay open longer if we gave them heads up that they would be having a bunch of people.

Anyways, I’m curious about suggestions. Anything to avoid a repeat of post Office Battle awful food.

GGs to all peeps I played last night!

This isn’t an English paper plus I usually post from my phone #getoffmynuts

LOLOL Drizzy…yo Bishop, when does that show come on?

Funny how your grammar immediately improved though! Also I wasn’t correcting you just pointing out the amusing inconsistency. I mean if you’re gonna be lazy why not be lazy all the way?

Memphis peeps going to ARK IV - would any of you have room for your ole buddy Negro Justice? It doesn’t look like anyone from our crew is going to be able to make it and that’s quite the trip to make and fund by myself, so being able to get in a room/ride with one of you guys is probably about the only way I could make it at this point.

Unrelated Negro Edit - WHY IS MY AVATAR SUDDENLY BROKEN???

Cylus - are underage nigs gonna be in attendance? I think that was the monkey wrench at office battles.

You can’t say “all of the above” then list the stuff below. Really confused me.

Huntsville maybe, but the rest of AL definitely isn’t.

Not AE

You haven’t seen shit till you’ve seen young kids calling each other out and talking shit on each other in DDR. Shit is hype as all hell in here tonight. This was just said:

“Get out of the way you can’t play this game”.

hype.

Now they just sat down on AE up front and are going back and forth. Man I have to watch this.

About this “input display” thing ( man am I late to the party ) it’s still a fairly new thing (at least to me) but in order to understand what you are doing wrong you don’t “need” input display, but for the complicated things (combos with very small inputs) it is helpful…the only things I have really used it for were for Viper super jump cancels, Viper LK LK crouch MP Ultra 1, and Deejay Machine Gun Upper Dash Ultra 2…

The problem with it for “basic” moves is that the inputs don’t show you how “easy” they are compared to other Street Fighter games, so for consistency, a 360 in this game input wise is not the same as a 360 in 3s, ST, etc.

I don’t think it is “necessary” but for the complicated stuff it is good to see what you are doing incorrectly and where you should be pressing the button after doing XX motion.

ps3 has input lag

Lol 24-0 in the 2nd quarter yeah its time for memphis to wait til basketball season

Input display has helped me out a TON with Viper stuff. Even simple stuff like tiger knee motion it’s useful for those situations where you feel like you did it correctly but it didn’t come out.

It’s nice to see exactly where you messed up on a super jump cancel though, that’s for sure.

I wanted it for this reason. Consider these three consecutive instances.

Inputs 360 motion: gets 360
Inputs 360 motion: gets 360
Inputs 360 motion: superjumps

With input display, I can see what input I missed on that third instance and try to emphasize it until it feels comfortable. I did the same thing in Blazblue for really fast 720’s, and it helped. Basically, in 3S, it would show me whether I’m missing an input or simply buffering it too early.

Good catch, fixed. I usually rewrite my posts a few times and miss stuff like that once in a while.

Chris: No idea, but I also know we went to like 2-3 places that were all full before we ended up in Steak & (then) Shit. Either way, just strengthens my argument that we should maybe put a little consideration into this before Saturday so we don’t have a repeat.

I’m going to try and have a headcount by 5PM so I can call around to diff places to see if they can accommodate us.
