Hi so i just got my Killer Instinct TE2, and i wanted to mod the Joystick with a bat top, should i replace the whole joystick or just the battop, and if i would replace it what is a really good really fast responsive one you guys would recommend. Any suggestions guys.

but a bat top with a adapter, should respond the same just feel different in your hand
Like what Dealb said you can just replace the ball top with a bat top and be done, simple and cheap. But it feel the same, just have a different grip.
If you want a joystick to feel different what are you looking for?
The TE2 comes with a Sanwa JLF.
You can switch out the joystick with a, Sanwa JWL (there 2 kinds, with harness adapter) , LS-32-01, LS-40-01, LS-56-01, or Crown CWJ-303 (with harness adapter)
With the exception of the crown, you need to buy a Bat top anyways, and all but the JWL-UM-8 needs a bat top adapter (JWL-TM-8 accepts normal ball tops, JWL-UM-8 can only fit bat tops)
Hard to say what joystick is the right one as everyone is different.
I want something that feels stiff i guess you can say, but that response very good. Im new to modding sticks so im open to recommendations. Like what do you like. I just dont like how this sanwa isnt as responsive aS i assumed.

I suggest trying seimitsu ls56. It’s stiffer, has a short throw. It one of my top 2. They also sell a stiffer spring for the jlf. Won’t affect the throw on it though. You could always order the spring and ls 56. Try them both out and sell the jlf or 56 depending on what works for you.
Will this fit my KI TE2? And fit a bat top, if so i will order both.
and by the way whats your number one and why

Does the seimitsu ls56 fit my te2 i mean
The JLF and the LS-56 have the same main mount points for screws.
Make sure you get the LS-56-01 as that uses the same 5 pin joystick harness at the JLF.

Make sure that the LS-56-01 (OR LS-58-01* if you decide you need additional eye candy like a bubbletop and transparent shaft and dustcover installed) comes with the MS Mounting Plate attached.
*[details=Spoiler]Be aware that the LS-58-01 ships with a less-tight spring installed. I have an LS-58-01… I had a tough time using it with a stock spring that I felt was TOO loose! I ended up buying a replacement LS-56 spring (3 lb model / 1.5 times higher tension than the stock LS-56 spring) from Paradise Arcade Shop since they didn’t have the regular LS-56 spring in-stock. That replacement spring made the LS-58 much more useable where I’m concerned! The LS-56 and LS-58 are identical in feel for the most part when equipped with the same springs. The huge physical difference is that the mounting plates between the two models are incompatible, otherwise parts can be swapped and used interchangeably between the designs. Same balltop handles, bat handles, shaft covers, dustcovers, replacement restrictor gates, etc. are swappable between the LS-56 and LS-58 models.
[/details]
That shouldn’t be a problem is you order from a parts vendor in the States. The guys I checked inventory in (Focus Attack, VideoGamesNewYork) only sell LS-56-01’s WITH the correct (MS) Mounting Plate installed.
That MS Mounting Plate is the one with the common screw-in points with the JLF Mounting Point.
Also, with any Seimitsu LS-series joystick, you’ll probably have to flip the harness attachment point before you plug in the joystick. It’s a wiring issue between the JLF’s and LS-joysticks. The 5-prong PCB interface is identical but there are particulars with the way the joysticks are wired up such that JLF harnesses have to be flipped so that the LS-joystick responds correctly when moved. It’s a Seimitsu thing!
It’s a stupid issue but that’s the way it is. I’d rather just deal with that myself than not having the option of replacing a joystick lever (the Sanwa JLF) that I’ve come to dislike…
The Seimitsu LS-32-01 is also a very good Sanwa replacement, IMHO. For some people, the LS-56-01 doesn’t work out so well because the activation zones are very tight on that joystick lever. To help deal with that issue, Seimitsu installed a higher-tension spring and it generally does help with the activation issue on the LS-56. It doesn’t take a lot of muscle effort to execute moves with the LS-56-01. I switch between LS-32’s and LS-40’s in playing because there are times that I just can’t play games with the LS-40; the LS-40 is closer in feel to the LS-56/-58 series. It’s not as ‘crazy-tight’ activation-wise as the LS-56/LS-58 but the control lever can bite you if you’re not relaxed. That’s why some people prefer to use the LS-32. You can “muscle” more with an LS-32 but it still has less throw than the JLF and recenters faster, too.
That’s how I explain the differences. You just have to try the joysticks for yourself to get a better “feel” for what I’m trying to say in words here.

If your going that route the ls56 would be the way to go. Unless your looking for a different color shaftcover, etc. Cause your just buying a ls56 spring to go with your ls58 making it a ls56.
Either way you will be happy
gl
Ill go with the ls56 then. Would any bat top fit it?

As long as its Japanese and has an adapter. Check out focusattack.com they should have a few
If this is off topic i apologize, but I’m getting the qanba q1 simply because It’s what i can afford, I’m getting to the part of my gameplay where my controller is holding me back on improving and i need one. Anyways The Qanba Q1 looks nice and it’s something I’m perfectly fine with getting but as far as changing out the buttons im not sure what size to get. Will a Sanwa JLF-TP-8YT Joystick work for the joystick replacement and 30mm size buttons? If you need any clarification i am sorry.

30mm buttons are what you need for action buttons. Not too familiar with what fits in those but most accept the sanwa jlf, can’t say for sure bout the ls series fitting in there. Depends on the mountingplate/surface
injustice bat top > all bat tops

There is another thread on here about the q1. There is a vid and from the looks of it the jlf and i believe the ls56 will fit in it.
If you want the stick to be stiffer you can always change the jlf spring to a stiffer one before spending money on a whole new stick. The seimitsu ls-55 spring (if I am not mistaken) should make it a bit tighter. And as everyone said, switching the actual ball top to a bat top is very simple but it won’t change the stiffness, just the grip.

i thought some very dirty anime pictures of young girls got the stick stiffer, not changing springs
