Great showing Philly players! Had a blast at NEC, but now it’s back to the grind with a new character in the works.
NEC was like 1 big reunion with everybody there.

i somehow managed to leave right before the t8 started, and make it home in time to load up the stream for… the last round of finals.
one thing i realized after NEC:
philly needs a sagat and an akuma. why do all of us play such bad characters? i am certainly at fault here too, but i mean… with very few exceptions we all play kinda lousy characters. rufus, balrog, viper, zangief… uh… i dunno what other strong characters we play?
oh well, i guess it can wait for SSF4! NEC was a great time though, last time I make the mistake of not going ahead and getting a room.
The ‘outer EC’ (not NY) is limited on stuff like this. I’m sure you guys never play, just like MD/VA doesn’t play. We all need to come together and train at majors…at least I want to next one.
I feel like I know a lot about the game, characters, and match ups. I just never play so I don’t get to utilize it and make it second nature. Probably the same in most of our cases, lol.
I would like to see the outer EC win a lot more though :woot:
FUCK sagat players im so sick of playing them… people need to play people who take more skill to play then sagat.
I had a blast at NEC! I just wish I had played alittle better or learn a secondary character.
I also second with Kyle on that one.
I use Sagat and Akuma kind of. But not in tourneys. 
you are good there is a difference… and Sagat doesnt take any skill i could sit down with him for less then 10 minutes and hold my own against anyone too thats how bad he is… ryu and ken take way more skill to play and Akuma mix-ups are high level… Sagat is broken and retarded i hope he blows in SSF4 in all honesty

I had to run the sagat gauntlet… They sent the whole army at me… all 7 of em lol! And papa gat was waiting at the end! But it was really close and I enjoyed all of my matches. But it does mentally wear down on you… I never had to be so lame in my entire life for that long lol!!!
GGs to everyone that went and don’t worry… Once SSF4 comes out there should be a lot of change and that’s what we are all waiting for. But yea we should be winning a lot more while NY is there… Fact is there’s so little of us and tons of them. We beat them but there’s always an extra 7 of them left afterwards lol.

Even though I said i was gonna take a short break from SF4 after NEC, i put in some serious training mode time yesterday and got me some new balrog tricks. Watching PR Balrog play in our room saturday night opened my eyes

Who did you let down? You put on an amazing display and none of us are disapointed. Like I said before you easily could have had Joe but by the millionth Sagat your patience couldn’t take it anymore. It’s all good though, Brandon for best Blanka in the country.

Hehe thanks, spektrum. The other philly players did really well too but the brackets were pretty damn rough! They were on their A game at NEC so much props to them as well. I’m going to chill from tournaments until SSF4 at least. I’ll still play casuals though in SF4.

Thanks zack, yea seriously laming out for that long does wear you down mentally a bit lol. It’s a rough world in the sagat jungle lol! But yea I made crucial mistakes on papa joe, but mainly cause I got a lil too hasty near the end.

yea, but guiles air throw has a startup of 3 frames vs cammys 5 frames. in addition, his range is 1.25 vs cammys 1.0. so before you are close enough to him for the throw…he is throwing you.
Had a great time with my Philly friends! The top level fighting (Japan don’t count) was mind-blowing. Skye really opened up people’s eyes btw. We got the Best Honda, Ken, and Blanka in America for sure.
When’s the next local? After the holidays?
