Any HDR/ST fans in Philly? I’m new to the area and trying to find some fighting buddies. HDR is my favorite but really I like to play anything…SSF4, MvC3, even that Mortal Kombat thing some people like and some 3D fighters I’m terrible at (VF5, DOA4, Tekken 6) since nobody plays them. I may have met some of you already at UP but practicing there gets a bit expensive. Now that I don’t have law school work to do for the summer, I can finally get some decent time in playing. Anybody up for hanging out and friendly matches/practice for any game?
What area do u live in?
Currently NE Philly, though I’ll be moving further into the city in a month or two. Otherwise, I’m going to be working around City Hall during the summer and can take the subway anywhere from there and would likely be up for whatever after work and can drive for that matter…so really I’m willing to go anywhere within reason to play with cool folks who aren’t jerks. I’ll even play with jerks if they dig some HDR.
Well I’m around Audubon so that sux. I don’t know anyone around here that plays sf.

shame the 3s cab has american sticks/busted. i swear on p2 side on the right, i would downback and still get hit by stuff

Did someone say VF5? I’d be down for some games in a heartbeat. In other news, I’m in Kensington. I’m thinking about holding another throwdown at my loft around North 5th st and Cecil B. Moore. I may have 2 setups going, could use another. Planning on running some MvC3 mainly but I’d be down for more options. May get stupid and stream it for shits and giggles.
Sure did say VF5…love that Virtua Fighter but I am TERRIBLE at it since nobody ever plays it. My competency is mostly in HDR, SF4, and MvC3 but I am always willing to work on any fighting game as long as there’s someone around to push me into doing it. I’d be up probably for any get together you want to put together as long as it’s not filled with jerkwads. Though, since yall live in Kensington, I’d probably want to leave before it gets dark, as much as I love brawling into the night 
On the plus side, your place is reasonably close to the law school so getting there is pretty easy for me on any weekday. Otherwise, my home in the far NE is currently open to any civil human beings who can get there.
That does suck…but I do sometimes like to go out to the Pinball Parlour out in Earlington and Audubon is not terribly out of the way if I’m heading there. I could stop by on some Saturday and jam before I head out to the Parlour since it doesn’t open up until 7pm. There is also always at least lag-free games if you’re on XBL (GT is SuperHappyPuppy…feel free to add me…what happened to whole GT display thing on these boards?).
I’ll stop by from 12-2:30 tomorrow.

Hahaha, Kensington actually isn’t that bad believe it or not. At least not where I’m at, it’s nothing but huge converted warehouses where artsy slobs an hippies live, a film production studio and temple. I walk to my house all the time as late as 2:30 am in the morning wearing a suit and tie. Too each their own though, if anything its just dirty. Me? I’d like to think I’m good at MvC3 but I pretty much suck but not button masher suck. More like I play characters that aren’t proven in tournaments and I haven’t the time to really flesh them out kind of suck. Ie: MODOK. SF4 I’m a laughing stock at. (Played it like 4 times)
VF5 is probably the only game I know mechanically and can be tourney competitive in.
That’s two strikes for me cause I’m on psn. Btw, I think ur crazy to be out at 2:30 in Kensington bro lol. When I was living in philly as a kid that’s where all the whores, dealers, and murderers were. It’s also where our store got robbed twice and I had an ak-47 pointed at my head when I was like 7. Ah, the memories.
spent some time at UP today. I feel like there’s some kind of problem with the far left AE cab. i was dropping shit like crazy until i switched.
There might be a problem with the stick on the leftmost cab; I haven’t noticed this myself (haven’t actually tested it) but I remember Chris Hu complaining about the stick after getting knocked out of the last UP tournament, apparently he messed up ultra input 3 times in that one match.
Other notes about the AE cabs: maybe it’s just my imagination, but the rightmost cab feel like it’s a bit laggier than the other three. Also, the first and the third cabs have no sound ouput (could be problem w/ the speakers). Everyone should keep bugging the UP management about the lack of sound until they fix it. 
yeah doing ultras is exactly what i was having problems with.
