I tested them out when me and Eric went. Guys, they have at LEAST 10 frames of lag, probably more. On top of that I’m pretty sure $20 all you can eat fingers and fries isn’t worth it since you’ll probably get full ordering from the menu on less than that. I was really hoping this event would have been executed properly but it’s not. If you can’t do it right then don’t do it at all imo.
Wats up philly. If y’all ain’t got nothin goin on were running Body Shop Saturdays 2. We start around 5 and the tournament is at 9. Were located at Next Level video games in Blackwood NJ. We will have about 3 ssfiv setups. 1 Blazblue, 1 Marvel possibly a Melty setup. And in the back is the 3rd strike, Alpha, and more on ps2. We may also have tekken as well. Wow that’s a shame about the monitors even though someone from the DMG facebook said the displays were fine when I asked on the event’s page. I also heard Chickie’s N Petes runs a Towing Scam so if you happen to park incorrectly nearby they call the towing company within minutes, your car gets towed and you’re out like $150 bucks.
Sooo…is no one really going to this? Is anyone going to say something on the facebook page?
Thinking about it, I’m pretty sure he let me win that first round, letting me think that I could get free jump-ins for the rest of the match. After the first round though, I got super excited for some reason, but that excitement turned into anxiety real fast and then I just lost it.

Play2 uses standardized HDTVs in all of their locations. They’re mounted inside the wall so I know those TVs weren’t going anywhere on top of the fact that they must have been really fucking expensive. I highly doubt they spent the time in the past month to find HDTVs of the same size that don’t lag to replace them with just for us to play SF. If you wanna go and have some drinks and food to just chill that’s one thing but playing SF there is going to be nothing but frustration.

thanks to everyone for coming out. and if people arent going to that Chickie’s & Pete’s thing then maybe ill have some casuals next weekend in the same general area that body shop was held. Depends on holiday plans but let me know people.

The TVs that are in the Play2 SouthPhilly location have no lag whats so ever. I tested it myself and two other players tested it out. We all came to agreement that the TVs are perfect in sense with no lag and it will not hinder the performance of the game play. Plus, this event itself is to test something out in sense that it will help bring some big things to Philly and for the FGC. Hence why its free for everyone. (to play that is)
(after I sent you the PM) Katter, 10 frames is a huge deal and I understand the importance for the playing of not having to deal with that. Believe me when I say that if the TVs were that crappy, I wouldnt have gave them the OK. Trust me, I want this event to go well because it will lead into some great things. I do hope, regardless of opinions, to see all of Philly there.
However the Tvs from Parx Casino, from what I was told are laggy, hence is why they are not having the event there. (older Tvs perhaps.)
At the end if everyone think thats the TVs suck, then they suck. (cant please everyone) If the FGC dont support then it doesnt get supported and nothing comes out of it.
Nevertheless, its worth a try.

After seeing those pictures it only reaffirms what I said before. It’s the same equipment they have at the Parx location. The manager there also said that their equipment is standardized. I really hope for your guys sake that those TVs are not as laggy as I remember them or you’re going to have a ton of pissed off people.
