I don’t think its your execution, this game feels like it’s running off the MK Deception engine just in 2D. There is a lot of inconsistencies in the game.
And fuck NR Studios for making Kabal ass in this game. I guess they really didn’t want him to be his MK3/UMK3 self. :sad:

The execution in MK9 is tricky because it uses the buffered button inputs to the extreme. It’s that pesky system where you can hold down a button, do the execution and let go of the button and the move will come out. This means that if you’re linking combos into specials then sometimes a special using a previously pressed button will come out unless your timing is spot on.

Linking in SSFIV is a lot different than linking in MK9. Because of this, the button buffering mechanics force MK9’s timing into tight windows in regards to special moves. Linking normals in SSFIV is infinitely harder than in MK9, however.
It occurs to me that if you lived anywhere north of New Mexico/Arizona/Texas you’d be a giant redneck instead of a video game bully.
