Someone want to elaborate on the chun-li matchup? I try and keep her away, but she just sits on my fireballs and jumps in close enough to throw out those overhead mixups, or throws out a kikoken and dashes behind it. I can’t jump over, or I get air-to-aired. I cant neutral jump, because she’ll punish me as I land. Focusing it seems to help, but it’s still risky. Anyone have any tips?

what are you doing when you jump over?..if she jumps at you and does the air throw which im assuming is whats happening throw out the tatsu immediately…and you’ll either go over her or usually get her for two hits(in case you don’t know you can fierce shoryuken before he hits the ground…does a lot of dmg and doubt she’ll jump at you again) other then that…i don’t know what to tell you other then to watch this video…guy seems better then momochi to me and does a lot less spamming\zoning and way more agressive(better combos too)

I just had a match up with Bison and he did the slide at the start of the 1st two rounds, I had the super ready and on the 3rd round he did it again, as soon as it said fight i mashed the super out and it connected.
and yes that akuma was awesome!
Are you guys kidding? That Akuma was good, but he’s nowhere near Momochi’s level. Momochi’s understanding of every single one of Akuma’s moves (range, priority, when to use them) is solid as iron. He always uses them at the right time, almost never misses an opportunity for damage, and almost never gives the opponent an inch. By comparison, this guy is tossing stuff out meaninglessly and whiffing constantly, missing combos, etc. Momochi would have smoked any of the players in that vid without breaking a sweat.
I think you’re just wowed by this one having a more offensive playstyle…

There is one thing that Akuma does better than Momochi, and that’s demon setups.
Everything else is sub Momochi.
is it me or momochi has like less than 10 vids around?

Pretty much, one of these days I hope the video thread gets updated to accomadate all the great akuma’s we’ve been seeing…well at least akuma’s with differing playstyles. Momochi more than likely has the best understanding of how Akuma is to be played (safely, at least)
Probably been said before but for Zangief - Demon flip kick for me so far has beaten lariat clean evertime. So if you got a zangief thinking he can get past you doing non stop lariats through your air fireballs, bust out demon flip kick then combo.
Problem is if you’re aiming to punish a lariat that he did for the specific purpose of evading an air fb you threw, chances are you don’t have time to land, flip and kick him before he’s done. Usually the best punishment you can get is to just walk up and sweep him.
Also, demon kick beats lariat if the lariat is already out, but lariat can beat kick if you’re just tossing the kick around and he starts it up as you reach him. So you can’t just randomly flip kick in assuming he won’t be able to lariat you out of it.
if Zangief moves back or forwards during the lariat, chances are you’ll get hit as well. the demon kick has to hit the dead center of the lariat (gief’s head basically) and no nearer or farther.
If Gief is consistently using lariat against max range FBs, you can buffer an ultra demon at the end of a lp fb and catch him on the recovery frames of the lariat pretty easy.
big fan of momochi…but that akuma was still nasty…does momochi even play with akuma anymore?..i havent seen any resent vids of him at all
It’s dependant on how many rotations you expect him to have done though.
Can you clarify what you mean by that? If you mean you won’t know when he’ll stop spinning, then I time it so that the demon comes out at the end of his scream when he first starts spinning if it’s the regular lariat. If it’s the quick version, time it to come out as he starts.
