Clockwork Orange stick? Although the “artwork” just kinda looks like cheetos and lemonade puke. The custom dust washer was a really nice touch, but considering the really lazy artwork they could have included a plexi cover like the TE should have had all along.
Damn, I thought it was going to be a TE with Seimitsu parts instead of Sanwa.

well, the details are finally out. For anyone who hasn’t seen it yet:
http://www.capcom-unity.com/sven/blog/2009/07/20/comiccon_exclusive_sfiv_sticks_and_pads_revealed
So yeah, looks like it’s just TE with different art, but it’s extremely exclusive (the word so far is only 500 are/will ever be made and you can only get them at comicon). Article answers a few other questons asked- price $179, and it will be both 360 and ps3.
Anyone want to hazzard a quess at what the “Buy it Now” numbers are gonna look like on ebay next monday?

Urgh you have to be at comic con to get one…lame
Not really worth the $180 price tag when you can pick up a TE.

Well…it’s totally worth the 180 price tag if you have an ebay account, lol. REGULAR TE’s were up to 500 bucks when- even though the word was there were only 3000, people KNEW there would be more coming a few months later. This thing is 500 and never any more made? I can see them going up to at least 700 if not a LOT more. I mean, I guess part of the reason people lost their minds and were willing to pay those crazy prices for the original TE was the SFIV release hype, and now te’s are pretty easy to get… so maybe it won’t be that crazy again, but I really won’t be surprised if it is.
just saw this posted on Joystiq.com VERY awesome indeed.!
Heh.
Doesn’t matter any way.
There will (probably) be over 80,000 people attending Comic-Con and those sticks will sell out in probably less than 3 hours, tops. That’s for both PS3 and 360.
I can’t believe they’re only making 500 of these!
That’s Comic-Con for you!
Not worth it.
Wait for the Play-Asia pre-orders, or buy an existing SF IV TE online at a reduced price and mod that to your heart’s content.
These exclusives generally aren’t worth it.
Other option I mentioned before is to wait a year. These same sticks that will be sold on e-Bay to the suckers willing to pay $500-$600 for them will be selling for less than $140 next year…

yeah, but I mean in that case…why not just buy a regular TE- modding those is no different than modding this or the play-asia stick, they’re all the same when the art is gone.
Only reason to own this stick (at retail price) is to flip it, and in that case, it will be worth it 3 or 4 times over if not more. You’re right though, they will be gone QUICK. Anyone who buys one of these just to play using it- more power to you, but I have NO idea why, lol.
To be honest,
I’d never mod a limited edition stick unless it’s to replace the stock buttons with higher-quality buttons.
(Did that with an Arcana Heart stick. I kept the original art protected under plexi but that stick plays much better with the QD Sanwa buttons I installed! The Hori soldered buttons are just awful!)
I just wouldn’t touch the faceplate on any of the Hori SA’s or SE’s. I kept the faceplate sticker on my HRAP 3 (standard) and just double-taped (removable, photo tape) artwork on top of the existing faceplate. Much, much easier and less messy than removing a sticker. If I decided to sell the HRAP 3 later, then all I have to do is take off the art and clean up the tape gum.
All my permanent faceplate art mods have been on Tekken 5 sticks which are crummy to begin with until you add the Sanwa or Seimitsu parts (then they’re as good as the SA/SE sticks). On those sticks, I don’t mind ripping off those crummy stickers and prepping the bare aluminum for Rustoleum coatings and new artwork.
The other sticks I figure you’re paying too much for the base stick as it is to be screwing around with the artwork. Especially if there’s a greater possibility in selling the stick later on and recouping more of your money. People just generally don’t want to pay extra for modded sticks, and others want a stock stick that HASN’T been altered.
The only way I’d change buttons on a TE or SA/SE stick is if I knew I were going to sell the old ones on the Trading Outlet and didn’t need those color buttons for another custom stick. The quality parts are just too valuable to leave lying around gathering dust and you just don’t switch buttons all the time! Who does that? Switching balltops I could see being done occasionally, but buttons are half a pain to install and take out all the time! :looney:

meh, people went crazy for the TE, there was no rationality there, lol. I can almost guarantee that stick will never significantly go UP in value again. I mean, you can see BNIB TEs and SAs going for a little over retail when they get hard to find, and in the case of the HRAPs are imported, but…it’s not like they are really limited in the sense that not many were made…they are just special editions by name pretty much. Doing whatever you want in terms of art/buttons to a HRAP or TE is not going to change the value up OR down much in the long run- although if you buy one brand new, and only take it out to mod it you can get a little more money for it on ebay. Other than that- it’s gonna have about the same value unless you do something useful to it, like, a multi-system moded TE will likely get a little bit of a boost in price.
does anyone have any pics of the stick from evo?

there’s a bunch of them posted right here in the thread…
Yea, if madcatz wants to get money from us again they should make one with multi system support, fuck this, am not buying another stick.
Don’t know why they are even advertising it.
This most likely won’t happen, ever.
Heard you on the stream, I was calling you King of all Joystick!
I can’t wait to see the first picks of someone modding there regular TE to look like the new LE TE. I like the dust cover but other than that, my SE will do fine…
