i know i don’t have a life but i’m still busy, my friend is graduating from film school next semester and since i know a lil about sound and editing i’m helping her with her final project so i been busy for like the past month.
if i can go i’m not sure about bringing the BBA/Mario Kart because they belong to my sisters boyfriend and i was planning on just jacking it from them but she goes back to school tomorrow and he’s prolly gonna take his gamecube back but hopefully he’ll forget we’ll see

Wow, can’t believe Friday has finally come. Getting together and getting our co-op on in Mario Kart would be a sweet way to start the weekend, and I look forward to the mayhem. Gina and I are planning on sweeping this shit. Too bad we haven’t practiced our mini-turbo controls - but we’ll still tear shit up!
Speaking of which, Gina was getting speeds of around 14mbps whilst downloading from the newsgroups… WTF? I get like a pig in shit when I’m downing at 5mbps. It’s not fair. I’m never getting internet access for anyone else ever again.
Meanwhile things at work are looking up. Way up. Like “Todd’s getting out of his department, getting promoted, and getting a hella better salary” kind of an up. Maybe this year won’t be so bad after all.
So I come home and what do I find on my dresser? Two Gamecube memory cards… Sheesh…
I also feel like an idiot because I forgot about having to move the controller left and right to select how many karts are playing per screen. So we could have had six players on three screens. Oh well, there’s always next time, right?
When we were in the thick of co-op, that was tons of fun. It was fun losing to TEAM ASIA, it was fun watching Alex get last place no matter what he did, and of course it was fun seeing Gina knock your asses out in the final stretch in Walugi Stadium.
What I’m thinking about doing is making this new save on one of my cards with all of the new track data and none of the new characters in stock. This way nobody can get the unfair advantage by having the extra characters on their side. Just have to win three cups to do it. Maybe when I have some time over the week.

Well, I’m in NJ myself. Punching bag in MvC2, average joe in 3S, and decent in CvS2. I dont get to go to arcades as much as I’d like, since the only place I know of with fighters is Fun N Games in Wayne, which is a bit of a trek.
Hows that Playland place in Newark on Market Street? Thats easy to get to(all I have to do is take the 73 bus to Penn Station), but hows the arcade/comp, and what games do they have?
Look at it this way: I spared us all the agony of the 4-way split screen that we would have had to use for 8 people on three Cubes/TVs. I think everything worked out great, all things considered. Would have loved to do versus again, but co-op was so fun, it didn’t really matter. I’ll see what I can do as far as getting a bba for myself, especially if someone can show me how to pirate with that thing.

And I also learned that nothing good comes from 2 white guys teaming together, so Rob and I can never do good in anything we team up in. Rob is banned from all my future teams. Hey guys I know jokingly we were talking about making a good ECC DVD this year (unlike other DVd’s out there), but I been thinking about it and with my knowledge and stuff at my disposale I think it’s not a hard thing to accomplish. So here’s what I figured the features of the DVD would be:-

probably be around 4 discs, anything more would be too much - we can prolly split it up like 2 games per disc and have a 4th disc with special features and interviews (some ideas for special features I had were - History of ECC documentary, behind the scenes in planning ECC, interviews with people who make this possible past/present (like chris, phi, todd, etc.), random crap like that)

do the 2 audio track idea, have the video be direct feed but have 1 channel of audio from the direct feed and another with crowd noise
To do this do we might have to change the format of ECC all together - I think best would be somehting like Evo has now with a top 8 so everyone could watch - either that or we’d need multiple camera men to capture the audio for the non direct feed (since the DVD should have like the top 8 for every game on it like the Evo one) which might get confusing and we could miss stuff as a result - so in order to avoid that should make ECC more structured than it was past couple years.
If you guys are serious we could get most of this done I’ll do all the editing if you want and filming just would need help on the menus/artwork because I can’t do art - plus we have a dvd duplicator at my job so making copies of it will be very easy.
If you wanna do this let me know we could get the special features part out of the way even before ECC starts so when it’s after ECC all we have to do is put the videos in with the two audio tracks because the layout will be done already and then we just slap them in there and have it out quickly.

a lot of us who post in this thread play (arcade-wise) at “8 on the break” in dunellen. there’s a train that goes from newark penn to dunellen and the arcade is literally across the street from it. ( you take the raritan valley line )
