haha yea i know i was gonna get caught in the fishermans suplex or whatever. my wrestlefest tactics are too top teir, just stand near the ropes and duck a lot it’s unstoppable. Next time we got to play the Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game one, I got it for PS1 with like doink Bret Hart Undertaker, etc.

Anyway, here’s a cult classic arcade game…WWF Wrestlefest!
TOP-TIER:
-
Ultimate Warrior - He’s fast, has a very good moveset, and, like the others in this tier, has high “grapple priority”. What I mean is simply that he has a higher chance of winning grapples than anyone in a lower tier.

Crush - Can use a powerful grapple move (Atomic Drop, IIRC) even at the beginning of the match; everyone else except Ted Dibiase can only use such strong moves after removing about 1/3-1/2 of the enemy’s life. That and the grapple priority are why he rates here.

Hulk Hogan - He would be bottom-tier (the worst moveset next to Smash’s), but the grapple priority single-handedly moves him up here.

Smash - Ditto. Hogan’s finisher is a tad easier to land, which is why he rates higher. Otherwise, they’re the same.
SECOND-TIER:

“The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase - The fastest character next to Mr. Perfect IIRC, and can use the vertical suplex (normally a power move) at any time.

Earthquake - Awesome moveset, with a special submission (bearhug) and pinning move (his finisher, which is easy to land). Is the slowest character in the game, but he (and DiBiase, as well) would still be arguably the best character were it not for grapple priority.
THIRD-TIER:

Big Bossman - Slow, but has a pretty decent moveset (most notably the splash).

Mr. Perfect - The fastest character, but the only outstanding move in his arsenal is the Perfectplex. And that move is extremely annoying because it’s enabled WAY too early in the match…what this means is that when you do it (and thus attempt a pin), the tag partners are going to get in the ring and fight. If you’ve got a human partner, then no problem, but if it’s the CPU then he may likely get slaughtered during this period.

Sgt. Slaughter - Slow, only noteworthy move is the Cobra Clutch.
BOTTOM-TIER:
- Jake “The Snake” Roberts - Has absolutely nothing worth mentioning. No top-tier grapple priority, his speed is just decent, and he has no special submission or pinning move.

I dunno. I would take that guy’s rankings on certain games with a grain of salt. His first ranking post on TMNT fighting game on snes didnt even have Wingnut as #1(excluding bosses since they are way toooo good). Also his rankings on Rushing Beat Syura(Shura) [The Peace Keepers] which is a dope final fight clone didn’t have Elfin(Echo) as #1 character. She’s too fucking good. You can almost beat the game with her w/o using any continues.

Why is Wingnut so good? Is Chrome Dome or any of the turtles any decent? Just curious cuz I played this game for the first time in like, 6 years tonight at my friends. Seems pretty fun.
He has an air dash. He’s like magnus/rogue. He also can combo like 5 low shorts. Combine that with the air dash attack. It gets pretty oogly. Also he doesnt have to fight you either. He can run away with his air fb and use the dives. Chrome Dome isn’t bad. He has priority in the air. Not many characters can stop his jump fierce or rh. He also has a good tick of cr shortx2, into electric piledriver. As far as turtles, Donatello and Michaelangelo are good. Raphael is kind of like Bison he almost always gets a free throw off a blocked drill.
