New Jersey stand up!

well whatever…sexay haha nj takin it fo sho

No, not NJ. Wasp, fucking Orville.

Did any of the Jersey players happen to get Xbox Live yet? I’m interested in purchasing the equipment IF the gameplay comes out okay. I know that CvS2 isn’t my favorite game, but something about online play makes me feel intrigued.

Anyone? Anyone? Please post or PM me. Thankee.

There are XBox Live forums now. According to some people it’s great with no lag, and others are complaining about lag (wow, didn’t see that coming). So as usual, and obviously, it all depends on the connection. Anyone who thought there would be no lag was foolish.

john v has it

Yeh i got it. AND I OWN ALLL!!! BITCHES

Any 1 check out the Penny Arcade comic about CvS EO? it’s funny…Blah…I’m still bad

Yeah Todd, I got it… and you know I’m totally not a big fan of the game, but the fact that it’s online sucked me in. And I really haven’t had any problems at all with lag. So far it’s lagged on me twice in about 50 games. The only real problem I have with it is the retarded controller. I can’t take it. For the love of god I hope they release ST, I think it would be great if it worked as well as CvS2 is.

I’ll get an XBox when they [fucking] release every single Street Fighter 2 onto one single disc. No more “volume 1”, “volume 2” bullshit. Perfect everything, no half assed imperfect ports like the PSX SF Collection (the volume with Hyper Fighting on it), or the timing-seems-to-be-off-on-certain-things DC version of ST, and with a superior training mode like the DC CvS2 had. When this happens (which I unfortunately doubt ever will) there better not be any “the PS2 version has this but the XBox doesn’t”, “well the XBox version has this so it makes up for the lacking X that the PS2 has” bullshit.

Oh and recently I thought about buying a PS2 so I can try out this thing-a-ma-jiggy called GGXX everyone’s raving about and also to replace my GT1/2 with GTA-Spec… w(hy)tf is this system still $200?!? I mean c’mon, I could get a GameCube plus a FREE top-rated game like DOOM 2.9 (Metroid Prime) for $150. An XBox, the most technically advanced console currently available, plus TWO not-so-top-rated games for $200. For another $40-$50 I CAN GET GIRLS[!!!], with a side of volleyball, for my XBox. Now lets see what I can get for $200 if I go with PS2… OH! A PS2.

(This ends my why-the-hell-isn’t-there-a-perfect-port-of-Street-Fighter-and-why-the-hell-is-PS2-still-$200 rant.)

BTW, anyone know any good deals on a new PS2?

i think all the prices of systems are dropping $50 in the next month or so (Read it in some video game magazine cause of cheaper hardware). I dunno much about next gen systems tho, cause the most advanced system I have is a N64 (but only one game!), I had a dreamcast for like a while but it really wasn’t mine and it’s gone now.

If you want cheap PS2’s tho goto like a flea market or a swap meet and buy the stolen ones from the Jamacian guys (you know the one’s with PS2/Gamecube/Xbox games for $10), i seen new PS2’s got for like $100 there and I got this nice CD/VCD/mp3 player for $50 there

Haha, you have a total point Kei considering the PS2 is a year older than Gamecube and Xbox also, and looks totally crappy in comparison… But anyway, I picked up GGXX, and it definately is interesting, at least against the computer anyway. I just wish I knew what an arcade machines button setup would be like, so I could at least try and configure it at home as close as possible, in case this thing were to actually take off and have some comp in the arcade.

Hey Mike I think this is what the arcade is set up like here you go, I never seen the cabinet or know what the game is but I found this on the internet

Kei, you can have your “perfect” Street Fighter on xbox if you’re willing to mod it. You can run FBA on it and you’re set. I’d get one myself and do this, but I’m poor right now. Might change my mind if the price does drop soon, though. I’m itching to play Crazy Taxi 3; loved the first 2 and I know this one’s good, too. Maybe even get Halo 2 whenever that comes out. Could give a shit about cvs2/mvc2 online, though. It’s basically Kaillera on a console from what I’ve read. Mainly just scrubs playing an altered and laggy version of a crappy game to begin with. And I hear people still disconnect when they’re losing, just like Kaillera. Bullshit. Might as well just go to the arcade, play some humans face to face. We need more of that.

What’s so bad about PSX HF? I have it and the only thing that annoys me is loading. Otherwise, it’s HF with a training mode. Good shit, the way I see it. :stuck_out_tongue:

And stop being jewish. Go buy a PS2 already. Trade in some crappy games/dvds you don’t play/watch anymore and you can get it on the cheap. GGXX is too fun. You’re missing out, man. Not to mention you can finally upgrade to GT3 and stop playing 4-year old Hot Wheels car collecting games.

Lovely weather were having. Anyone know if Phi is stuck in Florida or anything?

I told phi he would get stranded in FL and he was all like “HAR HAR I LOOKED IT UP ON WEATHER.COM ITS NOT GOING TO SNOW” and i’m like ok man don’t listen to me

What’s happening now isn’t even bulk suppose to be a blizzard tomorrow on top of this

And emulated SF is still not perfect, look at Ultracade thier HF speed is all weird than original

How much would it cost if I trade in my PSX and GT1 and GT2. Maybe I should trade in my Tekken 2 and 3 as well, I don’t play it anymore. Or maybe I can get more for my PSX if I were to sell it since it’s modded.

Who wants to buy a modded PSX? Comes in original box with all the documentation plus dual shock controller. $65 + $8 shipped. Will sell via eBay Buy-It-Now or in person if possible (at the break).

Rob, thanks for the controller layout. That’s definately not how I had things set up… I’ll have to give that a try and see if it makes things any easier for me. Thanks again.

You guys need to be careful if you’re thinking of modding an Xbox, because if you mod it you can’t run XBL (for now.) There may be a mod in the next few months to circumvent the XBL protection, but that’s neither here nor there. We’ll see…

Check out www.supercade.net and take in the new mod for PS2. Look ma, no chips!

*For the record, you’ll be lucky if you get $20 for all of your PS1 stuff. I brought in some PS1 stuff to get Dreamcast parts at Gamestop and I got something like $6 for the games I had. Ebay doesn’t look too promising either. The only game I landed some supremo credit on was DDR (a whopping $15!!) I feel like I’m at school and I’m bringing my books back for crappy credit.

To sum it up: (four games = $24) + (system = lucky if you get $10) = you have to get up off your ass and pay top dollah for your PS2 schwag. Get a used one off ebay and we’ll talk further about getting yout game on.

Isn’t there an Xbox chip that you can turn on and off so you can play on XBox Live?

Why would one buy the flip top case over just buying the boot discs? It doesn’t appear there are any advantages with the flip top case because the description of the boot discs say it could be used to play imports and backups. And I assume the boot discs could be d/led on usenet?

You must of had some crappy games, I sold my copy of Castlevania: SOTN and got $26 for that game alone, I think I sold like 10 PS1 games (cause i gave Phi my PS1) and got $104 for them, and this was in July. Only one I really didn’t get money for was ECW Anarchy Rules, it was only $4
