LAN Centers in NJ?

Hey,

I was wondering if any of you have been to a LAN center to play FPSes and whatnot. If so, where did you go, how much did you pay, do they offer BYOC, etc. Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance…

Saturday seems to be CvS2 night at fng now. Even fuckin pungza showed up. Solid 6 quarter coin line throughout the night and some people were missing. I’ll get back to you with the number of people required to sign for a big cabinet swap.

wat arcade u guys go to ? wat games they have it there ?

fun and games at the willowbrook mall in wayne nj

3 mvc2 big screens
1 3strike big screen
1 cvs2 small cab SOON to be big
2 Soulcalibur 2 big screens
1 tekken 5 normal size i guess?

we have great 3rd strike comp, best in the state id say? our Mvc2 is random, sometimes crowded and sometimes empty, and the cvs2 is getting crowded saturday nights

They still got CvS2 in that small Cab? sh!t…who from NJ are going to MWC and/or to TS5?

for 3rd strike, fridays after 7

nice av btw

i went there like 2 weeks ago and i was like :wow: there is great comp. in there,i wish that rockaway mall was like that. anyway what days ppl play mvc2 and cvs2 more?

nobody plays neither

Hey Doc!!!

Yo Doc, some people on this forum have been drinking mad haterade. FNG aint the best place in the world. But it has the games we want and the location is convenient. All I ask is for a CVS2 big cabinet. Other then that, weekends after 7 people show up to play. Random things happen at that Arcade, and it can be pretty intense as long as the buttons are working. Especially when you are on your last quarter. It beats driving to the break. Other then MVC2, there cabinets be having issues. Right Phi? Just playing.
Bottom line is if you hate the place, dont show up!!!

.50 3rd strike + 1.00 tekken 5 = sack of shit

whos says u have to like it to go there?

Fng has good comp, everyone likes to hate on it which is fun occasionally, but we have good comp, get over it. MvC2 is inconsistent at times, but with Pungza making appearances on Saturdays now, it brings the top players of the arcade out, as well as the top for CvS2. So to answer you go on saturday nights. Oh yeah, I need to compile a list of names to get CvS2 to a big screen. They said it probably isnt needed, because i talked to them on saturday night, and showed them all the people playing and how there was NO ONE playing SC2 so get rid of one cab and the owner said hes gonna tell the technician tomorrow. Word.

LAN centers are really only in major cities. It’s not too expensive since most cybercafes usually charge by the hour and already have some FPS games preinstalled. I haven’t seen going rates in a while though per hour, but it’s probably be about the same per hour as you’d pay for arcade games. Between 3-7 bucks an hour? I’d google one up, but I’m lazy Todd.

Only reason I’m posting this is to see if anyone else will answer your question.

change the word “comp” to “target practice” :badboy:

btw, does the elu-sive one still go?

about cvs2… uhm… right…

when pete’s lan was open, they were like $5/hr from what he tells me. don’t think there was many options in terms of byoc, but that’s more of a ‘gotta-set-up-an-occassion’ type of thing, methinks.

guess i got there too late for the the tv’s or pc monitors =(
i was remotely freaked out with the undergarments… especially for the 4 yr olds :wtf:

though, thinking about it, i should’ve gotten a robe

it was amusing, good hanging out for a change. next time i’ll try not to be so sleep-deprived or hung over

sup whore-hey?
i don’t usually hate on much, but i’ll do it for now, for sake of arguement
the selection isn’t that great for “og players”, and it’s more of a jailbait trap for them, practically inviting a lawsuit
everything is $.50 or more, and most of the time not 90% functional, unless it’s something that one of the techs like.
so people doesn’t have much to experiment with, especially if they go with a specific budget in mind.
some people are ok, but most of them are douches.
comp is questionable, since you’re not always on an even playing ground (read: broken controls).
not much to do after you’re frustrated or bored, except the scenery which gets old or drugged out.
uhm… other than that, i got better things to be doing

hehe, don’t get me wrong, i wouldn’t say the full experience is assinine, since it’s fun to see certain people here and there.
if it weren’t for you guys overhyping, bugging the techs who don’t give a shyt, or believing and promoting whatever the owner says to get you off his back (are many people playing kof2003?), there probably wouldn’t be too many more people going that don’t already go, but that’s my limited opinion on all of that.

course, i’m not really into the whole arcade-going thing anymore, and most of the reasons i go to the break include convenience, not being too expensive, if there’s something broken (not adaptation broken. like not even working broken), i can most likely fix it (or have someone look at it, which isn’t fast, but it’s faster than some other places), etc.

i do admit i’m a bit more biased toward the break since i have a bit more pull, but again, i’m just hatin by implied request ;p lol

Iroman owns tekuma haha, see me on the contra pad!

I’ll give you some target practice. Just open up and say ahhhh…

Gimme a call tomorrow or show up at the Break. Got a few questions for you.

And what’s with all this “trinity” nonsense?

nah, i don’t care for target practice, unless maybe in st.

i’ll by the break tonight so i can install some stuff and check out a few cabinets.

…trinity… yes… soon it will be unveiled

yeo its ya boy

yea anyway, hopefully i can make it sunday…definitely after 7 since thats when i get out of work, but dont do any money matches without me!!!
