From the same album posted above, doesn’t look like it, though this is the ps3 version pictured. Also not sure if any filing of the holes is necessary; doesn’t look like it.

Weird how the V3 on the previous page has the buttons wired differently, with a separate ribbon cable going to the daughterboard, presumably to toggle the ground wire for each pin high and low based on the turbo settings. Def gotta get me a VX, I’m really digging the case and layout.

It’s really nice for an entry-level. In many ways, I’m actually digging it more than the VX-SA. The size and height of the case is just about perfect for me. It needs more weight, though – no metal panel on the bottom makes it very light. Get one and ChImp it so I don’t have to be the guinea pig!

How are the stock parts?

100% standard Hori. Not terrible, but not very good, either.

And yup, like NiteWalker’s pics show, the button holes are standard 30mm.

Hey NRX there is a steel place that is close to me that can cut a rectangle piece of 16 gauge sheets of steel. You would have to deal with cutting the front corners and drilling the mounting holes. Well letting you know that a metal bottom plate mod is possible if you are interested.

I’d do it for you for free if you covered the material and shipping costs if it meant that I could look at one of those in person.

Whoa, that would be very cool…but unfortunately, the bottom plate on the VX has molded beveling. It’s not completely flat like most Japanese sticks…more like the bottom half of the plastic case itself.

I’ll totally vouch for amiami, btw. Their prices are incredibly cheap (sometimes even lower than amazon.co.jp), they take PayPal, and they ship very rapidly. I ordered the VX along with a few import games that came out last Thursday, and they arrived today for ¥5040 shipping.

Whoa, I wonder why that’s happening? I just tried the following process: Put item in cart -> Check out! -> New customers, and a box comes up for country/state. Try accessing the site from amiami.com instead of .jp…

Another option would be to order from amazon.co.jp – they have them back in stock – and have it reshipped to you via tenso.com. Tenso also has very reasonable EMS shipping. Amazon.co.jp -> Tenso is how I got my VX-SA, btw.

Thanks! It wouldn’t fit without heavy filing, though…the fit is extremely snug. I think I’ll probably end up using rolls of coins for weight.

Totally. After recently getting over my soldering phobia on a couple projects, I was going to attempt my first dual mod with this…but now Toodles has me wondering just what the heck “kitty” is, and if it might make dual modding a VX easier
