My deepest apologies to those I unintentionally ignored last night once Arcana Heart 3 hit the screen last night. Before I go on about that more my apologies also for the tremendous amount of Salt I have been sprinkling lately. Morton’s personally called recently to tell me that their supply depots are overstocked and to stop production. It really hasn’t been game related at all, nor directed at anyone in our community, just life happening my people. Now more arcana…
It’s honestly a lot of fun with some VERY interesting and easy to understand game mechanics. Obviously if you don’t like anime fighters because you are too cool, don’t like anime, or have no interest in female character driven games it won’t appeal to you. It’s not BlazBlue or Melty (much simpler to understand) so don’t even bother comparing it to those games. So if you are home alone and have nothing better to do: Lock yourself in your room, close the shades, put on your loli goggles, grab a PS3 controller and check out the trial, you may be pleasantly surprised =).
PWA news, there is an issue with going weekly from what I gather, Adam will respond once he has a sit down with Sarah. So more news to come on that topic this week.
Speaking of PWA I would like to hear some feedback from you guys regarding last night. Looks like we dipped in the numbers a bit but you can’t grow every week! Personally there is a big problem with setups. I saw far too many people playing solo in the few hours I was there and really didn’t like that. one guy packed up early because he had no one to play with. I understand that some people come from a bit of a distance to play, but it is also really bad to come a long way AND have no one to play against soooo…
We go back to the debate about limiting the setups. I don’t believe there is any argument that we have way too much going on in that room for the numbers we have (although they are good). TvC in one corner, 2 BB setups, 2 AE setups, 2 MvC setups, 2 MK projector setups, 1 GG setup and non of them are full or have anyone really waiting to play. While this may be cool for the people who just want to play as much as possible, it doesn’t do anything for those of us who want to compete against a variety of people.
Sitting at the same station playing against the same person the whole night imo defeats the purpose of having PWA in the first place. I feel badly that Vyers and Nuclear cheese come out every event and just play against one another because the room is walking A.D.D. Arcana only drew attention because everything else at that point was shut off… Save your gas and play online or we can go back to Salt Mines without the time limit, chill and shoot the breeze. For the next PWA event it would be a good idea to just have 1 setup of each. Promote more walking around while you wait (yes, wait! arcade style) for your turn and maybe someone will sit down that you haven’t played before giving you an opportunity to educate, or have a damn good match. It would certainly give the room some damn hype besides why random wailings of fake hype just to get some damn energy in the room. Plus cleaning up at the end of the night would be much easier when everyone is gone and some of us are left to help out with the aftermath.
If anyone vehemently opposes please state why other than personal distaste =p. Should we choose to go ahead and try this and it is not met well by the players that come, we can add setups during the event as needed.
On a side note Kraig, Rich watch your inbox today. Need an opinion on some AE related stuff.
If you have read this far I commend you!
