second, thank you to laurence for putting the weekend together. i had alot of fun and i appreciate the fact that you paid for the room and let us hooligans stay and play some games. i am looking forward to some crazy shennanigans with this game.

big ups to lawtown providing the space. that was an extremely kind gesture and i sincerely appreciated it. gave us all a chance to get started in the crazy new world of marvel.
tourney was wicked fun as well. good to see where the players were and what was going on, what characters were being played, etc. phoenix and maulverine looking ridiculous right now (i know i couldn’t do anything against phoenix–but I got plans for that!). Also, i was really happy that my team actually looks strong against most of the characters in the game. And, the sad part is, I seriously upped my game with haggar last night after chipotle (amazing burrito–gonna eat the rest of it right now) in training mode. like, for realz, don’t get hit cause any hit will now lead into over 500k ALL THE TIME and i don’t need meter or xfc. if i do xfc, i will kill you. Seeing people in the tourney using Aerial Exchanges so well really made me want to add it to my game. also… gonna see what characters i can instant overhead with haggar against the next time i go into training. the mayor is literally the heart of my team–i just hide him in second place as a decoy. i’ve got some sentinel killing combos in the works too. i’m too excited for the pipe right now to get spencer in the lab again (though you will fear the overhead combos and my theory-fighter advancing guard punishes mightily).
i think NH did well in the marvel tourney. good job guys. next time tim will be sure to show people what a real dante looks like.
I think we all definitely owe lawtown big. We should buy him a stripper or something; that’s what i’d want anyway. I’d like some input from you guys on this current team i’ve been using since the salty suite. It’s Wolverine, Chris, And Hsien-Ko. Wolverine provides beast mode rushdown and when you get hsien ko in her hyper armor, her swing assist only adds to the craze. I feel good about it, but we’ll see.
Also Tim, what was the name of the band you wrote down. I want those sweet beats.
Glad you guys had a good time! It was great to hang with you all this weekend and certainly my pleasure in providing the space to chill and literally crack out regardless of the game. It’s really nice to have something we all can play (at least right now) and share ideas etc. The hope is that we can stray away from the “best in NH” talk, since it’s not really something to be proud of at the moment, but actually foster a community of respectable players and simply rep NH when we hit the tournament scene…
I had fun at the tournament yesterday even though I didn’t win any matches. No excuses. The gap between my tournament experience and the rest showed yesterday. Despite nerves I learned a ton about myself and what it will take to get that first win during the next one.
@Kraig: Sorry I wasted your $5 lol. Your Haggar was on point yesterday (dropkick, roll, sentinel assist, level 3 was top notch shit) and had quite a few people talking during your match yesterday.
@Tim: You just had to show him a 100% pipe combo…
@Rich: Your better than you think at this game, hopefully yesterday proved that a little bit.

laurence, that’s a good attitude to have for tournament play. you just need to make sure you learn from your losses. hopefully we can play some more tomorrow.
i say we have a mutual agreement on the music choices before any sort of gathering in the future.

Wolverine, Chris, Hsien-Ko: I’m still trying to figure out what to do with Hsien-ko, but every team I put her on she seemed to get killed fast (my fault). She can really only be played one way imo, that’s keep away. She is a horrible anchor since she can’t get in to deal real “catch-up” type damage under pressure and her foot speed is horrendous. With that said you most certainly have to build a team around her. Armored Sen Bu assist is too good to pass up and most people who play her will use her specifically for that reason.
If you want an idea on how to build your team watch the empire videos of Evil Rahsaan. The team he built around Hsien-ko was Spiderman on point and Zero as anchor. Both are rushdown types but are different because they both have advanced gaurd crushing abilities and spiderman has great air mobility to get around zoning attempts. Combined with armored Sen Bu he made quick work of Sanford’s keep away team. In short I don’t like the team setup you have. None of the characters you selected work well as an anchor for a team and actually all of them make for great point characters.
Chris has all the tools to play keep away but you can jump in on him all day since none of his moves cover any space above, hence a chris players tendency to jump and “open fire” avoiding this scenario altogether. Get rid of Chris and find a heavy hitter with comeback ability to anchor hsien ko and Wolverine and you will have something. A number of choices fit the bill, but in the end play what you like. This team could work out well if you want to put in the work.

Wesker, looks so good in this game. Looking forward to seeing a scary dante since his damage doesnt seem all that impressive for doing 500 moves in one combo.:china:

on a side note, bb cab should be out by the weekend according to adam, and all the fighters got moved around, they’re now in a nice location and all in one isle.
