How this WOULDNT happen is beyond me lol. It would be a great side tournament. If people come out in force and really get into it again then Main event status wouldn’t be farfetched. Hopefully the Apology Edition remake, Ultimate, and the best game all year KOF 13 don’t kill it off. Don’t care though, just looking forward to playing Elena again in HD, with one of the best OST’s Capcom has ever made (god SF4’s music is ass), aside from Darkstalkers of course!!

2v2 NBA Jam would be fun. 3SO side tournies are obvious choices, at least for a little while before everything turns into chun mirrors and chun vs ken. obviously, i’m gonna dabble in the game with hugo and alex. I used to watch a lot of Hao videos (amaaaaaazing Hugo player) and I like the system mechanics of the game. Let’s not sleep on Skullgirls though, people. When I played it at PAX East it seemed spot on and Mike Z has been a solid competitor/innovator in several games over the years.
There are like 8 characters I want to play in KoF13. I’m going to a Portland Seadogs game tonight so I can’t attend the GU fight night. Tomorrow is, however, the second Saturday of the month and that means that I’m free all morning from like 8 to 1 to play games. Of course, you are all on xbox and will all be sleeping. Somebody steal me an xbox for my birthday (it’s next wednesday) so that I can play with you guys again.

The system guide video was really useful. I had kind of a vague sense of how the meters worked in this game from watching tournament videos, but this clears up a few things. Like I wasn’t sure how you build the HD gauge, apparently it only increases when you hit the opponent. Haven’t checked out all the videos in your folder (I’m at work) but it looks like a lot of them are in japanese? I think those ones are gonna be of limited use to me.
Haven’t decided if next Tuesday is a GU night or a PWA night. I’m leaning PWA cause there was no one at GU last Tuesday.
Yooooooo! Those trips to GU are so worth it. Had a blast once again last night guys, We gotta get there earlier, 3 am is cramping my saturdays lol. Shoutouts to blasting “Wonton Soup” and “I Cook” on the ride there. As well as taking 5 hours to find Crowns house. Oh and Crown’s level 3 XFactor mega troll story… There was a ton of people there though last night and lots of AE, Marvel poppin. Bugsbunny dominating with Dante the whole night…I’ve clearly hated the wrong characters the whole time. Let’s do it again next Friday gents!
It looks like we are shooting for a November tournament for sure. October 29th would also be a good date as KOF 13 comes out that Tuesday. We could have the first tournament for it! Hopefully the venue fees aren’t going to change attendance or interest, but this past Tuesdays attendance was the most subpar since we started =(.
Disappointing to hear that there wasnt that many people at the venue (i cant talk since i couldnt go).
Got my evo monitor this morning and am going to be getting glasses today. Lets see if this helps me improve (probably not).
the vids in japanese are the technical references. those are awesome and you don’t need to be able to read kanji to understand it. it basically shows you what every character’s special moves do and how they are changed when turned into ex moves (i.e. Terry’s crackshot becomes an overhead and the start up is extremely fast allowing it to combo from low level normals when using a bar of meter to do it). the videos are really good insights into the characters.
will, you just need to take it more seriously and play more critically to get better. i’ve been really using the small amount of time i have to play each week to focus on very specific things as a means to maximize my efforts. basically i’m just training myself to hit training mode in kof13 extremely hard when it comes out (mostly because i’ll be working full time and be taking two night classes when it comes out–fml).

yes, it was dual modded. it had an rj45 port on it that’s why the cables was huge.
I still suggest playing real competition (even if it’s online) and less training mode;). We all practice a lot of great things in training mode only to NOT institute it during live competition. Where are those Thor resets I am suppose to get dunked with? Or the big damage Genei Jin combos??? Or the top tier Elsa combos…left in the training room:D.
Everyone drops combos, that’s why I am not always sold on it being a viable reason for losing. Especially with a twin in your hands sympathy will be hard to come by hehe. Instead of Fadc’d slashes, how about keeping it simple, if winning is the end result wanted.
KOF 13 is not going to be difficult to learn. It has about as many sub-systems as any other conventional modern fighter and has all the usual stuff like EX moves, Ultras, and supers…not rocket science really. If you have touched CvS2 and dabbled in some Garou you should be fine=). KOF footsies are played with its variety (6 in total I believe) of jump arcs. A lot of hoppin around in KOF, gonna be fun!!

I might be stopping by this Tuesday to play with you guys. The scene over here is dying down due to summer almost being over. At this point of the year is where I become the only Maine player. Craig I want to play you some more. I need some Geif matches.
I should have been offering before, but for the Friday GU trips I can have people crash on my floor if they want. Just come prepared as its obviously not the most comfortable. My couch while older, does pull out into a bed as well and I have a recliner thats pretty comfortable. Up to those who come Fridays, but the offer is out there.

That would be a waste :). The unit is ready to go however I noticed some monitor jump (which is a sign of bad caps) so I have to do a cap kit. The game will be out later this week
