BP is not a good reference. It could mean the person doesn’t play much ranked. PP is more reliable.
I have a proof that I am terrible at this game because I don’t get past 2k PP… lol
PP is not as reliable as actually just judging what hes doing in game.
You guys are missing the point. The number I listed isn’t for your current number, it is for the number you can get to and can’t get any higher. If you can beat 16k BP + people you probably can get higher then 5k if you tried. It all depends on play style, some people just doesn’t care online and obviously get a lower number.
They are obviously not for people who switch account a lot, don’t play online much, etc, it is a general guide line not some kinda rules.
Thanks for answering my question. I’m definitely going to use the sweep from now on.
Here’s another one : Is there a list somewhere regarding cr.hp, cr.mk and st.mk as anti-airs lol. I’m lazy and it would be nice to know what works against a specific character.
Just noticed that cr.hp is pretty useless against Dudley. Had more success with st.mk. I never use normal tatsu either, because I’m not an overly religious person. Maybe I just have to spend one afternoon in training mode…
Cr.hp hits in front and just above Gouken as an anti air. Cr.mk hits tighter to his body and just slightly over where his head is before the move. St.mk is for jump- ins that will land further away and it obviously hits higher than the other two choices. It’s not entirely character specific, more like specific to spacing. Characters with tighter jump arcs are easier to hit with cr.mk, especially if they are jumping in close I.E. Blanka, Dudley, Yun…they tend to jump over the cr.hp hitbox.
well if you ask me ratings are overrated lol!
So, I’m trying to teach myself how to play Gouken by going through the trials, and I am completely baffled by lvl 10. Focus attack > st_hp > Senkugoshoha > Forbidden Shoryuken. For the life of me I can’t seem to get the st_hp to connect after the Focus attack. Can someone give me some pointers?
Are you dash canceling the focus attack? This combo should not be too hard if you are canceling.
I wasn’t. I thought the kick had to connect first. I will try the dash cancel. Thanks
The kick does have to connect, dash cancel it after doing so. You need a lvl 2 or 3 focus attack(or a counterhit lvl 1) so that your opponent ends up in the crumple state and then do the rest of the combo.
Oh, I see. Hey thanks.
This is really bugging me. I could have sworn that Gouken could combo off of his f.mp with cr.lp, but I’ve tried landing it meaty on wakeup as well as on counterhit. How do I do it?
It has to be the close version, no way to plink it and no need for counter hit. Tatsu whiffs on almost everything T that range though so its almost nothing you can link to it.
Did you mean far or forward MP? For either it’s going to be distance that’s an issue if you aren’t close, but overhead is+2 and needs counterhit to make it +4. With all the new active frames though you should probably be able to do it meaty too though.
Why?
CH overhead > cr.lp just isn’t linking for me. I try and I try and I can’t land it. Dunno what’s wrong with me.
What happens when you hit meaty that allows combos that wouldn’t be posible otherwise?
I don’t understand it’s mechanics.
A move has a set amount of hit and block stun, frame data is always based on moves connecting on their first frame. Our overhead is(possibly changed, I’m not sure how much 2012 tinkered this)+2 on hit if it’s performed normally. If however you get one of the later active frames to hit instead you can get the hit stun to be more than it is usually. In 2012 the active frames got changed from 2 to 4 frames.
Should you manage to hit meaty(for example doing it on someones wakeup and timing it that the first frames go active before your opponent can actually be hit) you can extend the hitstun. If you get the 2nd frame to hit it’s a +3 move, the 3rd a +4 move and the 4th active frame being hit allows +5.
I mean…why spend so much effort on this?
I feel like Im outplaying a lot of players, and then losing to a bunch of gay shit.
wat do, gouekn forums.
PS: I’ve been getting really high on the points, but I use like no OSs. is that bad.
