Lamar is about an hour’s drive south of Independence if I remember correctly 
Anubis: i have a really odd story for you concerning Truman and this town. when I was in high school, many many moons ago, my senior year of government class I did a paper on Truman. i was very lazy with the research and got a “D” on it. after graduation that summer we moved here to missouri from California; as soon as I saw the sign in town here “hometown of Harry Truman” I just had to laugh at the coincendence of it all. In fact, i live pretty close to the Truman Library here in town now.
Not many history books you will find this information in. Supposedly, the “S.” really did stand for a name. It was supposed to stand for “Sergei”, because he had relatives of slavic ancestry. When the impending Cold War was on the rise, he feared people would label him a “communist” or a sympathiser to the communist agenda. So he made up all the “hogwash” about not really having a middle name. With people around like Sen. Andrew J. McCarthy & F.B.I. Director J. Edgar Hoover at the time, they would have left no stone unturned to destroy his life.
I know DIRENESS9 is also a big history “buff”. She can probably confirm this info as well.

I became an uncle earlier today. But thanks to incompotent hospital staff, I couldn’t see my niece because the last name wasn’t on the patient list and rules did not allow me to look around for myself. I was dropping F-bombs when I left (under my breath of course). Fuck every other word.

You know, reading the story of the Romanov’s makes me so depressed. Silly little mistakes and misunderstandings, religion, fananticism - so many things that could have been avoided, and thus helped secure their rule, rather than it first being washed away by a weak and poor democracy, and then the Bolshevik revolution… its just all so sad. I need to stop reading these articles before I start bawling. And I still havent decided if Anna Anderson was really Anastaisa. They say now that Maria is the one missing from the bones they found, and then they’ll say its Anastaisa, and then Maria again. I wish they’d make up their minds. Theres just so many conspiracies swirling around her, and blanent attempts by the surviving Romanov distant relative to completely discredit her. And the genentic evidence that they submitted as Anna Anderson’s wasnt very good evidence at all - hair’s found in books that her husband had sold 6 yrs back, blood from a tissue that was once “missing” at a hospital, an envelope found with some hairs in it…I mean, come on. That wouldnt pass in a court today if they were convicting her of a crime.
It makes me want to hit somebody.
Anyhow, the boys in my town, including my boyf, are planning a tournament I guess in mid-October. They’ve been goofing around a bunch lately with this website, so I was suprised they were planning a serious tournament. GGXX will be in it of course, but I dont know what else they have planned. Im scared. Very scared.

Okay, I saw a new photo comparision of Anna Anderson and Anastaisa (if the photo is of Anna, Id like to see more to really make a decision) but Anna has these huge, lucious lips, darker skin tone, darker eyebrows- almost exotic really- while Staisa has thin, white girl lips, pale (like me!) and a wider forehead. Hmmmmm…

DIRENESS9: I remember reading about that case a few years ago. I, however, put more emphasis on Nicholas III (the last Russian Czar). A few years ago, his remains were supposedly found and for some bureaucratic reasons, he is still not buried w/ the other czars. DNA tests have been declared “inconclusive”, so his remains are in a museum in Moscow still being examined behind closed doors (they are either him or not).

The myth behind Anastasia will probably never be concluded. At the time of the revolution, the Romanovs had over $60 million Russian Rubles in banks throughout europe. At nearly 100 years worth of interest, those accounts must be humonguous! Finding out about Anastasia’s whereabouts, would just be a hinder for her distant relatives, i.e. if she were still alive and genetically confirmed, she inherits a fortune! If she is declared legally dead, they get legal access to those bank accounts.
This is one enigma that will probably take at least a century to conclude & close.

Well, it’s the time again. School starts on Tuesday and I have moved into the dorms, but this time I have 5 roomates instead of 3!
We get two fridges, a extra big living room, and 3 bathrooms, but only ONE phone line!! 6 girls and ONE phone line! I’m hoping at least 3 of them have cell phones, cause I sure don’t.
My room is MUCH smaller too.
sigh oh how shall I ever survive?
I have 5 classes this semster (15 credits) and I’ll be working part time at Publix (a grocery store) which means up to 28 hours a week (which my parents say is too much), which I need to have in order to pay the $4,425 tab for next semester. I gotta have it before December 19th too, fat chance.
I did some calculations and with the money I have saved, the money I will save, and the loan from the govn’t, I’ll still be $927 short.
It sucks, b/c my parents still claim me on their taxes, which means I get less govn’t help, YET, I have to pay for EVERYTHING my self. I’ve gotta convince them to let me go independent, cause this is a lose-lose situation for me.
On friday there’s a PIU tourny I’m looking forward to. I love that game and it’s been sooooooooo long. I’m also going to try atkins and get in shape, try to turn it all around until I’m pleased.
