NEW DreamCast Emulator: nullDC v1.0.0 Beta (Runs games at FULL SPEED!)

works fine for my mas and dualshock

Make sure that the POV directions are setup properly.

POV1:UP = Keyboard Arrow - up
POV1:Down = Keyboard Arrow - down
etc.

If that still doesn’t work I’ll try hooking up my ps2 pad tomorrow and see if their is anything different needed.

Grandia 2 works great. some hicups when loading voice acting/battle scenes/special moves and the shadows sorta glitch.

Skies of arcadia had bad graphic glitches.
Guilty gear worked fine.
Rez did not work all that well. had a lot of glitches.

i’m using ps1 dual shocks and hrap1’s on $9 radioshack converters. don’t exactly know what you’re having a problem with but joy2key seems to work fine for me.

when you open up joy2key and create a configuration you will notice button#'s and directional inputs, the first thing is to 0make sure you know which numbers correspond to what buttons on your pad. you can find that out by going to:

start menu > control panel > game controllers, then look up the properties. when you hit a button on your pad a number should light up showing you which number corresponds to what button. once you’ve found that out open up nullDC and find out the keyboard setup they use. you can find that out by going to:

Options > Maple > Port A > Config keys for Player 1, find out or create the keyboard setup for player 1(i just used the default keyboard setup.) open up joy2key and create a new configuration. since you found out what numbers go with what buttons on your pad all you have to do is input the keyboard setup you have for nullDC into the corresponding buttons and directional inputs for joystick 1.

also make sure that you leave the joy2key program open(just hide it.)

Where do i find the dc_bios file?

edit: never mind, found it.

question about grandia 2: can you revive a character? it used to freeze in chankast.

That reminds me, I should go play Grandia 2 again, stopped near the end and didn’t bother to finish it. And this was when the game first came out which was hell if I know.

Looking back I should have bought Skies of Arcadia instead. =(

Grandia 2 is the game that got me into turn based RPGs. I love that game!
The eyeball boss was a bastard though.

Anyone know what settings on Joy2Key I should do to use the analog stick on a PS2 controller to control the analog stick buttons on the keyboard?

EDIT: Nvm, figured it out. Put POV buttons on the analog buttons and left/right etc on the d pad, analog sticks work like a charm now

I think the best download for that at the moment is to torrent search “TDC Final v2” It is a compilation of by Toodles that contains CvS2 (JP), MvC2 (US), MvC2 (JP), 3S (US), 3S (JP), SSFX (NEW English Translation), SSFX (JP), Super Puzzle Fighter 2 X (NEW English Translation), Super Puzzle Fighter 2 X (JP), Ikaruga (JP) CvS2: Fan Disk (JP), and some ‘Extras’ ; )

On a sidenote, if netplay is to work, most likely everyone will need the same “ROM” version of CvS2, MvC2, etc., so perhaps using Toodles for the time being will be the best for everyone.

EDIT: Not sure if this is possible, but is there a way you could impliment a SaveState into the next release? It’d be nice to just load the “ROM” and then just LoadState to training mode or such with your team of choice already picked : )

3rd Strike and Project Justice work for me, although I get crackling sound. The game runs smooth as butter

Shoot if you think about it, it wasn’t even all that much turn base…it was like a turn base esque…it was sick cuz when let’s say Ryudo was done attacking, an enemy comes to attack you and it’s like: NOPE…You got stuffed by Mareg, roflmao…I loved the battle system in that game.

Weird,

I have to wonder why different games seem to be working for different people.

I have no problems with powerstone 2 but it isn’t on the compatability list.
I have issues with rez but somebody else said it worked fine.

Weird.

Know what, Everybody put down what games work and how well they work for you. But also put down what sort of system you are running. You never know, Compatability might be dependant on what sort of pc setup you have.

Here are my specs
Amd3200+64
1gig ram
ATI radeon x700 pci-e
Windows xp

MVC2 = works great
CVS2 = works great
3rd strike = works great.
Super turbo = minor graphic issues with backgrounds, Played both regular and remixed versions.
Powerstone 2 = works great
Rez = The graphics were glitchy. Colors and the lines would get all blocky or dissapear or get jagged. Didn’t seem to sync as well with the music. A lot of slowdown for me too.
Grandia 2. = Worked pretty good for me.
Guilty gear x = Worked great
Vampire chronical = worked great.

One thing though, When loading anything, The emulator sorta skips a bit. But that seems to gof or all games and don’t exactly take away from how well the game really works.

Hey, anyone knows if SF3:DI runs properly ?
I have to find my GD yet, so I didn’t test it.

Banned.

Or warned.

Anyone else having some audio trouble? Sometimes it cackles and sounds choppy, so I changed the buffer in the audio plugin and it didnt really do much. Otherwise, this thing runs great at 60FPS for almost every game i throw at it

anyone know how to fix this??

Can anybody try running “Street Fighter Alpha 3” on this emulator? I need more volunteers to test this…

Not related to your question, but you should close all applications before trying to emulate anything.

it doesn’t work

My pc is strong enough to run the emulator and some programs in the background. I can even rip images of my games and play at the same time without affecting performance. I still get 60 fps

Still not recommended if you want accuracy.
Whit time you will notice something.
