NEW DreamCast Emulator: nullDC v1.0.0 Beta (Runs games at FULL SPEED!)

I really want to see what this code could do if it were ported to a good framework. I’m still having input issues because of .NET’s crappy keyboard API giving me lag. Graphics and sound are quite solid, everything goes at 100% speed (even Remy’s stage, which killed Chankast down to about 40fps on my machine). At this point it’s less the emulator, and more the fact that .net is garbage.

Any tips on improving controller performance in .NET to see if I can get something acceptable out of it?

Thanks man, i didn’t know about the vmu saves.

I am unsure the format the emulator uses, but could you not use the saves provided on Gamefaqs?

I’ve got a few questions, what are the system requirements needed to run the emulator? is it possible to use a put the emulator on a modded Xbox (I doubt this), Xbox 360, or Playstation 3? Do the games run at a pace that is significantly faster or slower than the authentic DC hardware? and also, can the following games run it:

Bomberman Online
Samba de Amigo ver. 2000
ChuChu Rocket
F355 Challenge
Capcom Vs. SNK 2: Mark of the Millennium
Marvel Vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes
Virtual On Oratorio Tanagram

how do i get two player to work.

Need Help!

Good lord,
I will take the day off of work once they get this working!

if you can’t set controls for player 2 open up nullDC and go into your plugins menu under options. make sure port B under maple (input/saves) plugins is configured.

I wish the forums weren’t fucked up so I could actually read through the whole thread. Anyway, thank you for sharing this!

Edit: Great, I’m glad it gives me an error and closes every time I open it…
Edit2: Oh there it goes! Wicked…

Any hopes of a possible Sprite ripping software embedded into this emulator kinda like Kawaks Esque?

I’d love to get some MVC2 Sprites Ripped that are actually Good! lolol

That would be god-like

Hey im using an MVC2 remix file, only thing is, i get slow down to about 80% randomly and then back up to 100%. It never stays at 100%. I tried using chankast plugins, but then it shoots up to ~240% and runs extra fast. Its still playable when its changing percentages, but its very annoying.

I need a damn converter…i’m still doin fast flys on the keyboard along with AHVBs and random ass storm combos which is mad wack.

Any ideas as to what I can do? I’m running a…

Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 at 1.86Ghz
1 Gig Ram
Ati Radeon 9250 - 256MB
160GB Seagate

Is it because i’m not using the TDC v2? I’d like to get that anyway though. It sounds extra hot.

TDC v2?? I’m lost sorry. for a moment I thought you were referring to the magic key program (don’t recall the actual name) however, there’s another control pad program that can be used as well. Will have to upload as soon as I find it for all to use.

no no, its a compilation disc of games, everyone i’ve seen that has said marvel runs fine seems to say they have used that disc. Im just ranting about needing a ps2 to USB converter, I know where to get the joy2key so thats not a problem. I just need this damn thing running at a constant full speed. Any tips?

bump for a great emu

darn bro, your comp should be on par with running this fine. what’s going on? ur running pci express, right?

damn could that be the problem? I bought a PCI Express vid card after I realized the on-board graphics card on my mobo was complete shit and didn’t support 1440x900 for my monitor, but for some reason it never worked. I RMAed it to Newegg and realized its one of two things, either my PCI Express slot is fucked on the mobo, or I just got a bad card. I didn’t feel like testing another PCI Express card so I just picked up a PCI for hella cheap. I hope its not because of that…

shortboi…
your cpu is great… but your video card sucks… ati radeon 9250… wtf???
that shit is slowing down your computer…

upgrade the video card and u’ll see results…
