September 13th big day
Well with enough consideration with how Phil’s get together was successful, I decided to hold my own this time on September 13th.
I have a pretty decent sized backyard with a porch and pool and a charcoal grill. I have enough tables for setups but I don’t have enough systems and tvs for setups, so I would need cooperation with you guys to offer setups. So far I have a 32 inch lcd, a 22 inch monitor, 2 sdtvs, a ps2, a DC, and an X360.
I will also need people to bring food and drinks because I cannot buy everything myself lol (Walter I would love it if you would make those delicious patties like you made at Phil’s.).
Just like at Phil’s house I need to establish some rules. This is not my house and everyone needs to understand and respect that. I cannot allow 420 at my house because I live in a white neighborhood and my neighbors look like the types to call the cops.
Other than that we just need to get the hype going for this event because it will be successful. Start posting up if you will attend so I know about how many people will be coming or if you are bringing extra people with you.
Right now I have nothing planned, so put me as first on the list. You obviously know what I have equipment-wise, so if you need a PS2 or my laptop to play games, it’s a yes. I also can bring the USB sticks for PCs or 360. And that 19" Sony monitor that had MvC2 all day is actually in my trunk again, so I can bring that. Unfortunately I can’t bring the 32" as it’s my parents and not mine anymore.
I also have all of the leftover liquor from my cookout…you will be AMAZED at how much there is. Bud light, Coors light, Heineken, Coronas, and two unopened containers of vodka. Considering I don’t want to gain 100 pounds of beer gut, I can donate that for this event.
I can also bring some stuff that we didn’t really use much at my cookout - I have a full Rock Band set, I have NES/SNES/Genesis/Sega CD/32x, a Wii with fun ass party games, etc. Just let me know.

Probably me and My roommate and possibly 2 friends from Danbury. I don’t know if there is a limit on this get together or not. I can bring a ps2, ps3, or 360. I will probably bring more food next time so that people don’t get hungry toward the end of the night.

Hey sorry to go off topic. Does anyone know how to mod a Tekken 5 stick. I found a tutorial online but they want to dremmel into the pcb which sounds kind of risky.
I could do it but it will be a bit Im working on 3 sticks atm.
The issue with the tents is that they didn’t really stop the water. When my father and I were setting them up on Friday, we purposely put the tables underneath them to see if they would stop water or not. They didn’t - the tables were soaked when it started raining. The tent that we used at Walter’s cookout worked much better, but I believe that was his neighbor’s. I haven’t seen one like that anywhere.
Hook me up with some Coke Zero, I use it for my mixed drinks.

Hey, is there any way you can bump this up by 1 week? the reason i ask is because i just got some insider info…TGA is going to get SF4 the second week of september. so the place is probably going to be nuts that weekend…and i was going to arrange a weekend trip to TGA to play it. if you can’t that’s cool, we’ll just see what happens.
Ok this is the deal, Saturday is my regular day for work so it makes it kind of hard to do a get together and use up my personal day/sick time since they are limited lol. I’m on vacation so that makes it alright for me to put it on that day.
Now, since I am an advocate of SFIV and everyone playing it I could try to talk to my boss to see if I could get the 6th off and try to hold it on that day. PLEASE DO NOT THINK THAT THE 6TH OF SEPT IS THE OFFICIAL DATE!! I have to pull some strings first to see what I can do then I will post up what the final date will be.
Now if I do decide to make it for that week I want to know if you’re going by yourself to TGA or if you’re going with a few people. If it’s the latter than I was wondering if I could join you?
Another thing that I wanted to see is I’m pretty sure Cen is going to get SFIV as well. If I do change the date and the unveiling at TGA doesn’t work out will any of you guys be willing to take a train ride down to CTF to check it out? I’ve been fiending for some SFIV.

CTF if my knee is fully healed standing for a long period of time is a bitch, TGA since I can sit down.
Big F U to CAPCOM for making sf4 require 2 boards to run 2 ppl which is great for linking cabs but not so hot if you only planned on getting one cab

Yo, Im going to either CF or TGA, whichever has SF4. I prefer to go to CF since it is closer and easier, IMO, to get to. Plus there is cooler and better stuff in NY.

i’m down, but to my knowledge CTF does not have a confirmed date. Rumor is that Henry didn’t want to pay for two cabs, so he’s trying to jerry-rig something of his own. Which means, it may not work or it may be sub-par to a real sit-down cab.
If/when I go to TGA, I always stay overnight. However, I don’t think I’m going to be driving but instead possibly taking the train up to Boston that Friday, getting a ride from there to TGA to play that Friday night, probably going back all day Saturday, and then either returning home on Sunday or maybe even staying another day, depending on what happens. However, the delivery date isn’t 100% set it stone as of yet. When Nestor returns from Japan in a week or so, I’ll talk to him and see if we can get a 100% confirmed date.
And to be completely honest, although much further than CTF, the TGA cabs will be awesome since 1. it will be the complete head-to-head version and 2. you won’t be fucking crammed in like sardines. I personally hate the CTF venue.
