I don’t have Extend right now, so only CS2 matches for me yet.
Ah, gotcha, welp just let me know when you get a chance to pick it up. I got heavy into AE and completely fell out of practice since you blew me up, but I at least have that whole ‘S-tier Ragna’ thing going for me now I guess.
Of course EX gets delayed til the 23rd in Canada due to shipping issues, so fucking typical of Aksys same thing happened with CS…
Just go to Dustloop for Blazblue info. You won’t find much here on SRK.
Yeah, it’s true. Which is a shame because the series is pretty damn legit.
so, picked this game up today
its no GG, but I never played GG seriously, so as far as characters go I dont really care for any of these blokes. the fighting is really fun though, simple controls like mvc3 but not as stupid of combos. connecting combos is easier than KOF but its not as pretty of a game. overall i like it and ill give it some good time. the con is that i cannot stand number notation and i see dustloop uses that, and that will likely prevent me from getting into this game hardcore
O_O Number notation takes all of 3 seconds to understand. Just look at your numpad.
it’s something ill never get used to, converting it in my head “oh, 6 means down” or whatever. ill stick to the ingame tutorials
It took me a little too, but I understand why they use it. It’s easier to type up, takes up less space writing down, and can generally be put down more quickly than doing it otherwise.
Yeah it took me longer to get used to SF notations.
writing d.C took me just as much time to write as 8C
d.C 8C d.C 8C…eh to each their own. Ill look for letter notation on the net.
this default guy the tutorial starts you out with seems to be pretty good…imma try and learn all the characters
What about when you get into motions with a lot of directions? It’s certainly easier to just type 5 numbers than it is to type out down, down forward, forward, etc…
i never typed out the whole thing, i always just typed d, f, qcf, etc.
anyways, i wont push the issue, the game shows motions which works well for me. it seems like everything combos with this ragna bloke. havent taken it online, as this is my first time playing the game. i like how you can continue your combo as a blockstring
Whatever works best for you
Number notation pissed me off for a while at first too, but I got over it. It’s not especially complicated, but I remain unconvinced to this day that it has any advantages EXCEPT that it crosses language barriers better than anything that involves abbreviations for english words.
That’s something I actually hadn’t even thought of, and it’s probably a good reason to use it to. I think it’s done in such a way that it makes things easier for say…English and Japanese players to understand certain things about the same combos, and if you say, speak French or Spanish, then the say…236A>66C>8.D or whatever bit of a combo, would make sense still too.
That was the part that convinced me that number notation actually had some sort of value other than just being different for the sake of being different. Otherwise, it’s kindof a wash and honestly can be easy to make mistakes in - 623 and 236 are a little bit easy to fatfinger, IMHO, as opposed to F,D,DF or QCF (or “DP”). And anyone who thinks 632146A is “easier” than HCB,F+A has been reading this notation for too long.
On the plus side, it’s easy to type in if you hit numlock and actually USE your numeric pad for it.
all i see is 134569532469543948u3 XD
day 2 of playing this…on the ragna challenge combo where im supposed to combo after a wall bounce. i suck at stick dashing though so i keep fucking it up
Yeah, and I kind of have to use that for a “left key” since the main one on my laptop’s keyboard is broken.
sup doods im trying to learn this game add me on psn for free wins
