it’s no rumor; they are contemplating doing some retouching to rachel, for example. All they’ve said is they’ve been considering it. No confirmation if it is happening.
So after finally playing CS all I gotta say what have they done to my Rachel? As the only character I play or care to play in BlazBlue her nerfs made her worse than I had feared. She is a shadow of her former self. Which makes me sad.
Good news for my Dictator in Super though. CS ain’t getting much burn unless Rachel gets some type of buff. Right now she is just not that fun to play. Rachel or death, I won’t play any other character.

People can still use Rachel effectively. She’s mostly a strict zoning character now. Considering in CS she had all those really good zoning tools + ridiculous safe rush down, it’s a step toward keeping her what she was meant to be. I mean, look at he character… she’s all about sitting back and flying away and letting other things do the work for her. She never struck me as a type of character that should be getting in people’s faces.
I think if you sit down and learn to play her new style instead of immediately dismissing it as “Bad”, you might find it more rewarding to win with. Granted she could use a few tweaks towards being a stronger character.
I think a lot of people are looking at CS, seeing changes, and freaking out for no real reason. Most people agree that the game is much better than CT. How about understanding that some of the “NERFS TO MY CHARACTER” are part of what makes the game a lot more enjoyable?

She is NOT a strict zoning character now. Her design is meant to be a character that can zone and then rush down/mix up when the opportunity presents itself (i.e. forcing them to block George). Lobelia zoning has too many holes in it to make her a strict zoning character, and George is obviously meant as a tool to force people to block so you can start mix up (even if her mix up is pretty awful now). Unfortunately, Rachel is just a prime example of “over nerfing”.
Come to think of it, ya I’ll just take that part back. SJ is right and sums up Rachel’s game plan much better. Still though, I think you have to expect to do a lot more zoning with Rachel in CS than you did in CT. I still play CT more than CS, so I guess what I really meant when I said “strict zoning” was “Zones more because the rest of her game is weaker.”
I went to look at a few more videos for examples to help people understand.

And here is a match where Matsu’s Rachel is zoning more, but you can notice that she still rushes in and attempts to create a mix up. The short empty jump into the low was my favorite part: [media=youtube]fK_xjygiDIw[/media]
I think it’s important to watch the Hazama match and notice the different decisions on offense and defense that Matsu makes when he has different amounts of wind stock. He’s much more aggressive when he has a full wind meter, but when he’s down to half or lower he tends to try and find ways to get some distance. It’s very different from Versus Bang though. I think it’s just because Bang has a much higher speed offense so zoning is much more dangerous.

Is This True!!! But At lease there Tournament Edition Arcade Fightstick from Madcatz is releasing in June or July!!! Sad thing is, It’s limited
