NEW "Blazblue Continum: Shift" discussion!

I don’t think that the loketests of CT included Hakumen and v-13, but I know for a fact that you can select them in the arcade version.

Speculating on how strong ?-12 will be is pointless since we don’t even know the first thing about how she plays at this point.

Odile (BF)
Hanbei and Kojuro (SBX)
Hakumen & Nu (BB)( (yet Nu turned broken :looney:)

Nu isn’t broken…gay yes, broken no.

I dont get it.
dont you guys watch youtube vids of people like kaqn and dio already playing CS?
you can judge through their vids on how the characters are.

man, I can’t wait for this game to come out on 360. Probably the most fun I’ve had playing alone was playing the final bosses. Ragna is too cheap, even on medium I was getting toasted when I had Hazama. It at least made me not mess up my combos so much. :bgrin:

I dont get the “balance” hate that happens in this game, I play Tager, yup, the power of science compells you, as it does me, and im supposed to be using one of the WORST chars in the game, sword bot should in theory be my worst matchup (Along with Rachel), and you know what?

Its not that bad, is CS brings the tiers closer together, im in for that, ASW has a way of making “broken” stuff work in a game, I dont get how they do it, but they do. I mean sure shes a bitch, and sure its a very rough match up, but god help her if you get in, 50% health, GONE.

Also, it is worth noting that Tager has outright been used and won at tourneys, often, even though hes “gutter” tier, I mean you dont see that kinda maddness happen often in SF or MVC, etc. That does speak to the games balance.

Fixed.

Rachel is more broken than Nu.

i disagree with that hahaha

I don’t think CS rachel is all that bad honestly. Sure her damage is utter shit, but she has a pretty good zoning game, mixup is ok, frog is still good for blockstun, good anti-airs in 6A and j. C, an okay if incredibly risky DP move in 2C, pretty situational 4-5K combo, etc. For a low tier she still has some good options.

Not like CT tager where his lows suck, his overheads suck (well, 6B is okay I guess), his anti-air sucks, his speed sucks, his movement sucks, etc, etc. most of which is improved in CS thankfully.

Hey I’m just starting out… Again.

I’m the Jin player, and I’m still learning. My friend is a beginner Ragna as well. Comments on what I should do better will be appreciated

In CT, definitely both of you guys could do without bursting so early. You’re only making the damage output larger by doing so, should be done when you have very low health. Other than that I’d say learn some more bread & butter combos.

Release date in Japan is set for July 1st. Should mean that the US should get it either at the same time or about a week later. I’m not too sure, yet. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well that’s all I needed to hear, improved netcode? that’s interesting

What are these 5k combos you speak of? Last I checked she needed a 100 meter to cross 4k and she’d have to start the combo with 5B. Unless by situational you meant a combo starting with a lvl 3 j2C or something.

And she’s not much of a zoning character when her zoning game is put to a stop by Noel’s and Jin’ projectiles  Tager can just sledge her for free now, Haku’s got his crazy jC and projectile barrier, and Carl just has to hold down a button :expressionless: Pretty much everyone in the cast can jump right upto her or keep poking her from a distance, save for maybe arakune. What she probably does have though is a godly runaway game.

As for her mixup, people don’t really have a reason to not crouch block anymore. 4B is so retardedly slow that it can be blocked on reaction. j2C has been nerfed to hell. And if you wind the frog over and manage to get them to block, there’s always the chance that you’ve run outta wind and can’t do anything except 236A-> run away. You’d need 3 wind stocks to j3C, wind the pumpkin and follow up with a BCDC combo. After spending 1 wind stock for the frog and 3 if you manage to connect with a j3C, you end up doing really crappy damage (less than 2k without meter?) ,have no wind and can’t summon a frog to keep up any reasonable pressure.

Pretty much all Rachel can do is run away and capitalize on mistakes made by the opponents as they try to catch her. The way I see it, the only reasons Rachel isn’t as bad as CT Tager, is that the new top 3 are nowhere near as OP as CT’s top 3 (Litchi makes me wonder though), she doesn’t have a huge hitbox and there’s no character who can get her into an inescapable infinite with ease.

They want to claim the title “Best Fighting Game Console Netcode”!

Netcode buffs are ok with me

And Yes, Rachel will still suck no matter what!

The tutorial thing sounds incredibly interesting, I hope it turns out really well.

yes. She is. The only reason Nu gets singled out is because she’s really easy to play (for the most part.)

It takes someone considerably skilled to prove why rachel is so broken. She has one of the best zoning games in CT. She can keep you out all day. She has the best rushdown mixups in the game, she has some of the best damage combos in the game (If you have the execution.)

Basically, just play a good rachel and you will see.

But screw both of them. Arakune is the most broken character in CT. It’s jsut that he can’t faceroll against rachel and nu, so he aint as good.

Well that certainly explains why she’s broken even if it doesn’t explain why she’s more broken than Nu

Nu’s got a crazy amount of shit going for her too. And Rachel and Nu have about the same damage output, although Nu can manage that without meter.

Personally I think they’re just about equally broken :expressionless: They’re both around +10 on the tier list. Their most imbalanced matchups are 7-3s against Tager. Some characters will find Nu more troublesome, while the others will have more trouble with Rachel, which is probably what leads to the conflicting opinions.

^^ I totally agree with you on Arakune though

No complaints here lol, I’m assuming this new tutorial mode is basically “Teach Me Ms. Litchi” except with Rachel now, and this new challenge mode sounds boss as well…
