Well you played them in CT and using them again in CS, that’s not tier whoring.
I used Litchi and Rachel in CT a lot, started using them during the Test Version days, and I’m still using them in CS.
But I have been seeing a good amount of players now picking Bang as their main now even though I don’t remember those players picking him in CT before, not too much Litchi’s since she is a little more harder to learn. I also see a lot of Rachel players abandoning Rachel in CS.
I don’t really mind characters like Bang and Litchi being top tier, I rather have rush characters be top tier than characters who stand back and throw rapid projectiles all day.
Lambda is B-Tier. She good, but you actually have to practice her combos now. And no more “if I tech roll I get counter hit into anohter 4k damage combo.”
Rachel seems pretty worthless, but I’ve heard rumors that Japanese players are getting accustomed to her, and she’s slowly getting less sucky. I hear the real problem is with Noel, from what I heard. Again, what i’ve heard, Noel is in deep shit in CS.
I didn’t think Noel was bad from some of the match vids I’ve seen. Similar combos, decent damage, fast “a” as usual, don’t see negs. Rachel’s problem is her damage output but she’s virtually Kune with infinite bugs if you can spam that stuff safely but two combos and she’s gone.
I hate the lame bias that rush down characters are ok for top tier but defensive characters shouldn’t be candidates. Altho, i guess its hard to have a defensive character be top tier without them being broken.
Probably cause for rushers there’s more of a risk involved. You mess something up with a defensive and you’re still on the other side of the map so no biggie. I’m gonna have to work on my instant block to combat Bangs though. I played a highly good one in CT and the only way I could get out of the rushdown trap was to instant block. That shuriken thing is too good on that character, you either block and he continues or you jump and it hits you and he continues his rush.
As one of the better (and quite possibly ONLY) Noel players in SoCal, I can say for certain that she’s not in “deep shit.” True, she did suffer a tiny bit of a nerf like the reduced range on her air throw, but she has more than enough tools to be competitive…(against anyone that isn’t named Litchi, Bang, or Ragna)
Her new bnb off her 3c (3C, 22BC, 66C, 5D, 2D, 623D, 66C, SJC. D, 6D, d. 6B, d. 5C, 236D) does more than 4300 damage. Universal combo that works on anyone. Her previous bnb could only do 3700 damage at most. On big characters you can do now easier to do haido loop for over 4.8k easy. Meterless.
The fact that 5D/2D, d. 6A, d. 6C now combos with or without CH is a true blessing. If the d. 6C hits, you can either go into a 214A throw or a d. 6D, 623D depending on if they’re standing or not. If the d. 6C is blocked you have a quick escape plan in the form of a 4D.
4D and 5D is insanely useful now (good invulnerability) if used smartly. I remember one time my 4D beat a Ragna DP. Too good. Before, you had to rely on 5A to pressure on wakeup, and most of the time that led to getting reversaled.
Noel players actually have to think about how they approach their now instead of using the brainless CT strategy of mash 5A, do random 6B and hope for the best. It makes the game a lot more fun, and trust me I was the leader of the “Aksys ruined Noel” bandwagon when CS first came out (just look at my rage posts during the early days of the CS Noel thread on dustloop). But after playing around with here, getting use to the new system mechanics in CS, and getting inspired by R-1, I’m a true believer in our lil gun girl.
Hakumen is A tier in BB: CS, and I would categorize Hakumen as a straight up, solid defensive and zoning character. He certainly has his rushdown options, but Hakumen is all about patience.
I’m all about Blazblue. Just that dustloop better place to discuss it.
Like I said, this is just random word of mouth from other BB players. I don’t play Noel, I’m a hakumen player.
It is interesting to see how much Hazama has advanced from before. Early on he and Tsubaki were considered rather weak but hazama has become a pretty good character.
I have only seen one person, Matsu, Use rachel to any success thus far and when I do see him play, i get the feeling he is working much harder to get not as far as the people playing him.
On Dustloop, I would rather discuss the game here. Dustloop is a better place for information since it is all about GG and BB, but in terms of community I feel they are more hostile than Shoryuken.
