NEW "Blazblue Continum: Shift" discussion!

You’re a fucking idiot if you think ASW has any say in European releases. This has been discussed a thousand times over and people still don’t get this.

It isn’t the final version of CS, it is 4th loketest version. It is still pretty bad that it happened but eh at least it isn’t the final release.

How do you know?

Weird, an outdated version (but still more up to date then the console release) getting out just around the time when TvC is coming out and people are getting hype over SSFIV…
Conspiricy theorys ahoy!

It’s a real shame that ASW won’t go ahead and release a PC port now we know it’s possible to do it so quickly, I know they aren’t doing it because they can charge more for the arcade version and don’t want to kill themselves off but it’s still a shame.

(I am assuming the “bootlegging discussion” is how to actuly bootleg it not about the effects of it being out, if I’m wrong I’ll delete post)

Dude, I thought like that as well. It’s a bit farfetched and conspiracy theory-esque of course, but this could be a plan to steal TvCs thunder. TvC is more of a “rival” for BB than SF4 I’d assume, since they’re both faster and more donjon.
Probably not, but still…

Might as well post mine…

Yeah, I’m sure whoever publishes it in Europe thought it was a good idea to release a heavily outdated version instead of the most current one. Also, I’m sure the region locked US version was Aksys’ idea, eh?

Any way, I don’t care whose fault it is, I don’t feel bad for them

It is the final version, sadly.

Any confirmation?

All the info I can find says second to final.

I have a weird feeling that this isn’t going to really impact ASW’s arcade sales at all, or the console release for that matter. Yeah, it’s out, and yeah, you’ve all got it - but are any of you really thinking you’ll keep using this? Fuck that, I want my practice mode.

Also, I’m surprised at the people suggesting ASW in any way deserved this. That’s just retarded.

If I could ask anything of the scene… for God’s sake, don’t try and run tourneys with this. Resist the temptation to even try it. Even if you get it working perfectly, even if you’ve got a bunch of people lined up, it isn’t right. Hopefully you know that. Enjoy it in private if you want, but it’d be nice if we could show proper respect.

We have very similar feelings on the matter, Circuitous.

IMO, anyone that thinks that this can substitute for a full-on retail home version release is pretty crazy. I imagine that they are likely never going to play the game seriously (and consequently, probably not purchase it) anyway.

I was going to buy the game anyway, and that hasn’t changed now, but now I’ve got two friends that want to purchase it after playing the leaked one here as well.

I agree with this, it’s best just treated as a demo and dare I say it a possible source of sprite rips?

Tsubaki Yayoi is going to be a blast to play once I figure her out a bit more. I love the hymn/singing mechanic , brings back old SNK memories for me.

Considering I don’t even think they’ve announced a PC version of CS, this is a nice thing to play around with. Just one more fighter to fuck with on my laptop.

Is there a site for all the character’s moves in CS? I went to dustloop and all I could find was the changes not a list.

Man this is great. I’ve been playing and Hazama totally surprised me at the end of Arcade mode: I’d been cruising on easy mode throughout the first fights and suddenly

Dustloop has character specific sub-forums, and if you look in the “General” thread for each specific character, you can usually find moves.
Then again, I found Tsubaki’s moves in the “Starter Guide” in her sub-forum. It should be pretty obvious; it will always be in a sticky, from my experience.

Well, I feel dumb. I assumed that they wouldn’t have Hazama or Tsubaki under the characters since it’s a new game but I was definitely wrong. Thanks for the heads up.

After getting the opportunity to play it, I’m really interested in the series now. I’ll definitely import CS when it’s out in the US (PS3 is region free right?), and maybe even get the EU outdated version when it’s released just to play some online until CS. Before this I was a bit on the fence about the series, planning on maybe picking it up in the future as the prices dropped or something - but seeing as how late the EU ver is coming, that future would have been far away indeed.

I also believe piracy of GGXX#R increased the popularity of that series. I’m positive me and my bro wouldn’t have bought any GG games if we hadn’t played that first, way back in the days. But that situation is a bit different of course, since it wasn’t out before the console ver of R and since the sequels were never released on PC (let’s not count Isuka).

So bascially, I still believe some good will come out of this. If not increased sales, then at least maybe the scene/audience for the game and it’s sequels will grow.

Aye, I gotta say this whole thing is giving the series some interesting exposure.
