Doesn’t look bad, they gave it a more newschool feel to it and most importantly, they added the oh so important loli character (or just the younger character)
You got rainbows in my Akatsuki.
Judging from the character select screen, at least 3/4 of the cast are ABK/Ausf Achse sprite rehashes - They do look larger/upscaled, though it’s difficult to tell with Youtube’s quality. Maybe they’ll add new animation frames to some of the rougher-looking moves…I hope the final character selection screen is larger, too
I also want some ice cream and a pony would be nice
looks like shit now.
Dammit.

100% unrelated.
Actually forget about my “it looks upscaled” comment, watching the video again it seems like it was just some sort of zoom-in effect (Is the default POV zoomed in and you get a zoom out as people move away from eachother or does it zoom in only for certain moves? Fuck if I know)
It’s what sells.
Oh god no. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Good point but I’d wait for the actual release to start hating.
Rithli’s currently catatonic post-trailer viewing.
To me it looks like some fucked up alternate acid trip universe.
Mycale -> Moecale? (Kati), has no glasses, has a fucking fang, shouts magical girl nonsense shit during attacks.
Wei is now Dawei.
Marilyn Sue is now Marilyn Dajie (ghetto chinese for big sister)
All old cast is back.
Sprites are huge or zoomed in, giving a somewhat bad Art of Fighting feel.
In terms of non surface material, I see bursts :V, double jumps, wall stick combos, longer? more freeform? juggles.
In a wait and see mood.
What the fuck is this shit
I think I see a guard cancel there
speculation; if that black lighting effect on the burst/guard cancel means anything, it probably only hits in front of the character
Definitely unexpected… seems very interesting, but very far to be an “Akatsuki sequel”, just a game based on Akatsuki world… they were right about that.
Blitztank is still called Blitztank.
Sprites are scaled, im pretty sure.
The sprite work looks much smoother. Not digging the new characters, they’re quite a departure from the Nazi-inspired cast.
wow it looks way uglier
I hope they don’t mess with the formula too much, it was perfect as it was. I hope my favorite nun gets so good buffs
En eins
OK! My brain’s still not registering what I’ve watched from the trailer, but here’s some system info dug up from the dengeki post and the system 4koma thingies:

For the most part it seems like they’re using original ABK as a base with some extra fluff.
Inputs:
Aside from the original three attack buttons (A B C), they added a forth button for reflectors (D). So now the button scheme is D A B C.
Chains (Denkou Rengeki):
Characters get a specified chain route from hitting the same button/hitting buttons in squence. At this point I don’t know if all characters get the same number of chains, but from the looks of it, I guess it’s possible that everyone can chain now with this.
Double Jumps:
*Though from watching vids, they aren’t so much of a second jump, but more like an extra hop mid-air to adjust your trajectory slightly. Not as floaty as I imagined it to be. *
Dash Attacks + Wall combos:
Hitting a button during a dash will give you a dash attack. These attacks will induce wall stick (similar to what happens in the Guilty series). During wall stick, you are free to combo the opponent, so you can fish for these for extra damage/combo opportunities.
Burst (Kanzen Sekai):
Pressing A+B+D will activate Kanzen Sekai. It seems to be part-Psyche Burst, part-Rage Explosion, and part-Melty Heat. You only get access to this once per round. Once activated, a timer will indicate how long you’re in this mode.
During Kanzen Sekai, you get a “boost in abilities” and access to a high damage super that’s only available in this mode (Some 2ch posts made a comparison to the Issen attack from Samurai Shodown V). You also gain a bit of life back. Once you activate, you sacrifice the use of your super meter for the rest of the round. Think of it as a comeback/second wind mechanism.

On a different note the game seems to be a story continuation. Marilyn is labled as “big sister” in this version and in her ending from the previous game, she becomes the head of the mafia so yeah looool nerrddddddddddd who cares
What is going on…RAINBOWS AND EXPLOSIONS
