I’ve been holding off for a couple weeks dealing with these new ads, but today they’ve just driven me nuts. I happen to move my mouse near an ad and my whole screen fills up with some video! I know the ads serve a purpose behind the scenes but this is the first time I’ve ever complained about ads. Frustrated user.

The myspace add needs to die a quick death, or at least make it to where the sound doesn’t automatically come on.

With all this ads this page has, you’d think the website would load everything smoothly but no. Half the time I try to load this website, it doesn’t work and I get “unexpected database” errors.
Just mute your browser or install ABP.
I get these very often as well.
There’s never an excuse for autoplay sound ads. If you want to have audio ads, they should be mute default and have to be activated. There are work arounds, yes, but it should not be on your users to run from ads such as these. We totally get the fact ads make money to keep this running, that’s fine…but this site really goes through the list of bad web practices in advertising. I’ve been to stream sites that give me less hell. I would rather close 5 pop ups, than have to deal with a repeating audio ad, roll over expandable, or any form of ad that hijacks my experience to try to make it’s sale.
The biggest issue is the load times though, they’re unexceptable. I’ve checked on two really good rigs with perfectly fine internet and a lot of times I’m met with constant refreshing after waiting 3-5 minutes for a load (and god help me if I’m trying to edit a post).
Is anything being done to address this?
I’m sick of opening a page and hearing the ad play. It’s even worse if I go through my notifications and open pages in other tabs, and then hear the same damn ad play over and over and fucking over again.
Yes. As Wiz posted before, new software and new servers are coming in January since Xenforo is not able to handle the SRK traffic.

yeah, they’re really hit or miss. Sometimes they try to sell me games, Netflix subscriptions, or herbal vaporizers (for aromatherapy, obviously!). All A-OK with me!
Then sometimes they try to sell me women’s clothing, or memberships to Curves gym. :eek:

yep, I have no problem with you guys having ads but man that M&M’s song makes me want to murder puppies. run the video, fine, but i shouldnt have to hear that garbage just by looking up sagat frame data

So many times this. I don’t mind ads when they aren’t intrusive. But, I’m pretty sure I’ve said this in this thread even. Ads that are loud as hell as soon as the page opens and these nonsense pop out ads that cover half the screen if my cursor goes to the top 1/3 of the screen are terrible.
Seriously, is there nothing that can be done to tone this down? Is the only way to get paid by these ads is having them drown out my music and then cover up half the screen when I’m trying to read whatever is on the page?
